Back in 2024, Golf Pride made a considerable shift in their design and focus surrounding putter grips via the introduction of their Reverse Taper design. Since its release, the model has met an interesting mixture of feedback but also gained Tour use and significant sales popularity. The thing is, the Reverse Taper styling even with its tech story, isn’t the most comfortable for everyone, so a large segment began asking for a taper-free version.
Well, almost two years later, Golf Pride is officially announcing their ZERO TAPER putter grip.

Golf Pride ZERO TAPER – When Shape Becomes Stability
When the Reverse Taper putter grip was introduced, it brought a whole new visual to putter grips for Golf Pride. With its bright white core color adorned with big and bold lettering, it was very quickly a look that stood out both in the real world and on television. With the new ZERO TAPER version, the key DNA in finish is the same, just with a little more flair in the three accent color options (black, blue, red).

First things first, this is being introduced alongside the Reverse Taper, and not as a replacement. This is something that the brand had been asked for quite a lot because though the shape of the RT wasn’t necessarily universally loved, the material and feel was enjoyed by many.
“Two years ago, we introduced Reverse Taper, and it quickly became one of the top-selling putter grips worldwide. With ZERO TAPER, we’re building on that success by offering players who favor a consistent geometric shape a grip that meets their needs. Whether we’re designing full-swing or putter grips, our brand’s mission is to create products that inspire confidence, enabling players of all skill levels to perform their best.”
— James Ledford – President of Golf Pride

The biggest goal with ZERO TAPER was to offer something that brings consistent feel through a uniform geometric shaping, keeping pressure and sensations the same in order to produce a more connected putting stroke for those who don’t want a taper. The grip is what Golf Pride calls “horseshoe” shapes, meaning a more natural curve at the rear while keeping a flatter front paddle section.

Along with the shaping, there was a big focus put into creating multiple visual cues for consistent hand placement as well as ensuring that there are multiple size options (medium and large). While they aren’t going crazy with options in terms of sizes, when combined with the Reverse Taper lineup, Golf Pride believes they have something for everyone.
Details and Availability
Each of the new ZERO TAPER grips is 58R core designs with the medium size weighing in at 66g and the large at 73g. In terms of color options, the medium will be available in red, blue, and black with the bigger model in black only for the time being. Pricing is $29.99 per grip, with availability beginning on 2/17/26.

Nice to see a line extension. Hopefully we see a zero taper pistol grip down the line.
Thanks @Jman nice write-up. I may have to grab one of these to try on one of my older putters that needs a regrip to compare it to some superstrokes

That would be a winner

Was thinking the exact same thing – could be a stellar option.

I probably don’t know as much as most but I always assume with pistol grips there will be some sort of taper at the bend. Right?
I like this article and the extension of the line not as a replacement but as an alternative. Great to have more options.
Just when you thought it was safe to use tape and solvent. I’ll have to give this a look!
I really liked the way original are Reverse Taper in my Odyssey 7, look forward to feeling one of these in hand.
The reverse taper grips just felt off to me. I like to see this release. Seems to be going all in as a Superstroke competitor option.
Show me one in a pistol no taper shape and we may have a winner.
Very nice to see them really commit and compete in the space with some of the larger type grips.
Now this is something I will be buying. Wasn’t a huge fan of the reverse but the zero taper has my attention.
I like the way the bottom is finished with a taper instead of looking like it was cut off with a rusty hacksaw blade.
That close in picture actually has me a bit intrigued. I’d like to feel this in person, but they definitely look good to my eyes. Appreciate the info @Jman
Looks nice, I’ll have to check these out in store. Any word if they’ll do a 17” no taper?
I’ve been in a pistol 1.0 style for a while now, always down to try something new and maybe this is “the one”. I’ll have to give these a roll. Great thing about having an air compressor is you can try out a lot of different grips without having to ruin them when taking them off.

Not at the initial release
Material on this looks very comfortable, will definitely have to feel one next time I’m at a store. Seems like it has more grip and may get less slick than SuperStroke
I know I am in the minority, but its strange to me that they simply made a Super Stroke.

Do you think it was filling a gap in their offerings? Do you think the feel difference of their grip is enough of a differentiator to move the needle for consumers to try it?
Would this be a direct competitor to the Synergy Tour line of grips? The shapes seem comparable.

strictly subjective, but if feeling worse is a way to move the needle, then yes.
I guess for me, I’ve always viewed Golf pride is kind of an innovator, although when you look at their line, there’s really little innovation in years.
Love this. As someone who likes superstroke grips, competition will breed more innovation for consumers. This makes a ton of sense.

This made me laugh but completely true. It’s just another product in the marketplace and you’re right it doesn’t seem like they have done anything new in a long time to disrupt the marketplace.
I hope to get one in hand for some testing, I didn’t care for the RT at all, but thought the material and feel of the grip was quite good.
Hopefully we see them bent a pistol at some point, that would be nice.
Interesting. Makes sense for Golf Pride to offer. Will be interesting to see if they add other shapes now.

And I say again, completely subjective. The whole brand is just so odd to me right now.
I really like this as an option from them, will be sure to check them out in person once club shops have them.
Good article. I’ll pick one of these up to try against my Super Stroke. I play Golf Pride grips on my other clubs.
Surprised it took them so long to release something like this
The reverse taper was weird. No way I could ever use that. These could work.
Is there a billboard logo free option?
Probably something I’ll pass on. Good to see an option for someone that may want it
It is a grip I will definitely take a look at.
