Episode 1, How are Golf Shafts Made?
Have you ever wondered where golf shafts come from? How they are made? The materials used? How are they painted? What makes one different from another? THP TV is bringing you a new series this year called Lab Rats with Don Brown and it features shaft knowledge, education and a whole lot of fun straight from an expert at Project X Shafts.
Shot in 4K so THP Recommends Full Screen Viewing
Episode 1 is here and you will see everything that goes into the creation of a golf shaft and follow each step of the process towards creation. Don gives you a full tour of the Project X Golf facility in San Diego, CA and explains what each area is responsible for. Once that part is complete, there is a one on one interview with the Dean of THP discussing some of the fascinating technology parts of a shaft and some of the misnomers that exist for golfers

That was so neat. Sound was a tad off, but did not take away from how cool that was. Never been to a THP Event but after watching that I want to go be don for a day.
Peter,
Sorry about the sound being off for the early part of the video by half a second. We had to run with our backup sound because of a corrupted media card, and unfortunately it caused us some fits.
Glad you enjoyed the episode though, lots more coming up very soon from Lab Rats.
that paint thing was so cool. i just assumed it was some robot filled room that sprayed paint all over a shaft as it turned. i think i want to try painting one at home. also loved the part about whippy shafts because i miss on the toe alot.
Will you guys be talking about the new Even Roll shaft and comparing it to HZRDUS in one of these episodes? This was fun as I have never seen the inside of a company before and thought the stuff was made in some factory in china.
SKB,
We will definitely be talking about their different shaft lines in future episodes and as always, chime in on the THP Forum and you can ask Don questions directly as he jumps in with answers quite often. The thread for Lab Rats Episode 1 is right here.

That was fun. Big fan of hZrdus black in my Epic.
this was fun. Don seems angry though until the interview. I would like 30 seconds in his office to grab what I would like though.
Fun stuff. I have played PX iron shafts since I think they were a thing and now moving to graphite bought my new irons because they came with PX graphite in them. This was a cool look and that paint thing was awesome.
that paint thing was cool.
I am interested to learn more about the flags and materials.
some of those machines look cool and dangerous..lol. I would design a shaft to look like a light saber.
Awesome show! Always enjoy learning about shafts and will be watching future episodes of Lab Rats with Don Brown.
