Honma has spent decades refining the relationship between traditional craftsmanship and modern engineering. The Tour World line is the clearest example of this philosophy in practice. Last year’s TW767 series delivered a noticeable shift in ball speed technology and versatility. The new TW777 series builds on that foundation with a cleaner aesthetic, rebalanced weighting, fine-tuned materials, and a more confident look at address. Honma’s fairway woods and utilities have always been designed for golfers who care about sound, shape, turf interaction, and feel, but the TW777 line pushes those traits forward with measurable performance improvements.
The new family consists of the Honma TW777 Fairways, the more forgiving TW777 MAX FW, and the compact and fast TW777 UT. Honma fans will see immediate similarities to the TW767 line, but nearly every structural part of these clubs has been revised for greater stability, speed, and ease of play.
TW777 Fairways and TW777 MAX FW:
Two paths to higher performance
Honma designed the two fairway wood models to serve different player types while sharing a common performance DNA. Both use Honma’s internal rib structure to improve ball speed on off center hits, both introduce speed enhancements across the entire face, and both rely on precise shaping to support confidence at address. Where they differ is how they deliver launch, forgiveness, and workability.
Clean shaping and confidence inspiring alignment

The TW777 FW is built for the player who wants a traditional fairway profile. It has a compact footprint, a square leading edge, and a slightly deeper face that encourages workability off the tee and off the deck. The topline is unembellished and frames the ball neatly, which continues Honma’s tendency to avoid visual distractions. Compared to the TW767, the face sits a fraction taller and transitions more smoothly into the crown to produce a more assertive look behind the ball. It also includes adjustable weights, which will allow manipulation of launch conditions and spin rates.

The TW777 MAX FW introduces a wider body, a shallower face, and a larger overall footprint. This shaping naturally raises the MOI and lowers the center of gravity. Players who want help launching the ball higher and who want more forgiveness across the entire hitting area will find the MAX version more supportive.
Advanced materials deliver speed and forgiveness
Both models use Carbon Crown Technology, which moves significant weight low in the head. The carbon composite crown allows extra discretionary mass to be pushed toward the sole, helping generate higher launch with lower spin. Honma refined the carbon integration for the TW777, creating a more balanced feel at impact and better vibration control.

A new C300 Titanium face creates higher ball speeds across a larger portion of the hitting area. Honma engineers reduced the face thickness strategically to retain strength while expanding the hot zone. Compared to the TW767, the sweet spot is larger and the perimeter stability is stronger. The result is more speed retention when contact drifts toward the heel or toe.
The GET Sole (Ground Engage Traction Sole)
Honma’s GET Sole is one of the defining technologies of the TW777 fairway woods, and it absolutely deserves dedicated space because it is a significant evolution from the TW767 series.
What is the GET Sole?
GET stands for Ground Engage Traction, and the sole design functions almost like a three–rail system with geometric channels and cutaways that help the club glide through turf more easily.

The GET Sole improves performance in three meaningful ways:
Cleaner Turf Interaction
The shaping keeps the leading edge from digging and stabilizes the club through impact. This is especially important for players who struggle with fairway woods heavy or thin strikes. Compared to the TW767, the TW777 woods stay more level through the strike and let the sole skid rather than dig.
More Speed Retention in Imperfect Contact
Because of the improved ground interaction, the head maintains ball speed better across varying strike locations. The GET Sole limits energy loss when contact is slightly fat or high on the face.
Better Launch from Grass
The rails and shaping help the head maintain its orientation when interacting with the ground, which leads to a more predictable launch window. This is noticeable on tight lies, light rough, and fairway bunkers.
How it differs between models
• TW777 FW uses the GET Sole subtly, focusing on turf glide and stability for better players who want workability.
• TW777 MAX FW adds a deeper, more pronounced sole geometry to maximize forgiveness and help players get the ball airborne more easily.
Different weight placement for different needs

The Honma TW777 Fairways positions its internal weighting slightly forward by default. This encourages a flatter trajectory, more penetrating spin characteristics, and easier shot shaping for the golfer who wants workability without sacrificing forgiveness. A swap of the weight positions will increase trajectory and add stability.
The TW777 MAX FW moves its mass significantly lower and deeper. Golfers who struggle with fairway woods off the deck will appreciate how easily this model gets airborne. The extra depth also stabilizes the club head through impact, helping players maintain ball speed on mishits.
Who Are These For?
TW777 FW

Golfers who like a traditional looking fairway wood with a more compact profile will feel right at home with the TW777 FW. It sits square, launches on a strong flight, and gives players the freedom to shape shots without sacrificing forgiveness due to adjustable weighting. It is well suited for golfers who use their fairway wood both off the tee and off the deck and who want a more assertive look behind the ball. Players coming from the TW767 will notice more speed across the face and a more solid sound at impact.
TW777 MAX FW

The MAX model is built for ease of use and confidence. The footprint is larger, the face is more shallow, and the center of gravity sits deeper in the head. Everything about this club is designed to help golfers launch the ball higher with more stability. It is ideal for players who struggle with consistent contact on fairway woods or who want more forgiveness and height without giving up distance. If you tend to sweep the ball rather than pinch it, the MAX will feel incredibly supportive.

TW777 UT: Compact distance with refined turf interaction

Honma hybrids have always walked the line between workability and forgiveness. The TW767 UT was a strong performer because of its blend of oversized shaping, speed, and consistency. The TW777 UT keeps much of that DNA intact but tweaks it in several key ways.
Sleeker shaping with improved alignment

The TW777 UT has a slightly thinner crown line than the TW767 and a more defined leading edge. This makes alignment easier and gives the hybrid a look that blends well with both players distance and game improvement irons. The footprint stays compact enough for confident shot making but offers a touch more stability toward the perimeter of the head.
Rebalanced center of gravity

Honma moved weight lower and more centrally in the TW777 UT head. This creates higher launch with controlled spin, making the club versatile from the rough, fairway, or tee. Where the TW767 produced a flatter flight, the TW777 offers easier height without ballooning. Players who need a reliable long iron replacement will find this UT extremely adaptable.
Multi material construction for speed and feel
The same C300 Titanium technology used in the fairway woods appears again in the TW777 UT. The face flexes more efficiently, producing consistent ball speeds even on imperfect strikes. The face should feel more solid as the acoustics are more refined than the TW767.

The UT also includes an optimized GET Sole that reduces digging and maintains speed through impact. This turf interaction improvement is subtle but important. The TW777 moves through thick grass with less resistance than the TW767 and produces cleaner contact on tight lies.
Who Are These For?
Players who want a reliable long iron replacement with better height, consistent speed, and cleaner turf interaction will like the TW777 UT. It keeps a relatively compact shape that some players prefer but adds stability and a friendlier launch window. It offers more forgiveness than the TW767 UT and moves through the turf with less effort. This makes it a strong option for a wide range of handicaps. The UT works well for players who want predictable distance gapping, easy height into greens, and the ability to hit controlled tee shots on tight holes.

I like the look of the GET sole, pretty close to rails
Honma makes such clean looking clubs. And anything even resembling rails on a FW/H gets my attention!
The fairway wood is one of the most intriguing to come out in a while to me and this is a seriously in depth look at it.
The sole is unique enough that I really want to give it a try and the entire story is interesting.
The story of the sole here is really interesting.
Great write up!!! Honma always looks clean, but the sole of the FW might me the most interesting part.
These look really good. Im really liking the sole design and compact look.
I was a big fan of the hybrid last year. Big, big fan. If there was one complaint I had it’s that the sole/leading edge were pretty bulky and squared off, which it the GET sole immediately takes care of. I have a really good feeling this will spend a long time in my bag in 2026.
Honma makes great fairways. Just wait a year to buy them when they are dirt cheap.
I seems the TW777 MAX FW needs a serious look for those of us that struggle with a fairway. The UT’s also look like they could be a good alternative to a UW.
GET Sole has been around for quite a while. Lots of nods to the past in this line, all while moving tech forward. It’s very cool.

I read that as Big Lb Get and thought it was a THPer cut jacket.
Reminds me of the Nike Dymo with the grey across the back.
I really enjoyed this read. @Hawk you absolutely killed it. I know many enjoyed the hybrid in the past when we did some forum testing. I really enjoyed a past 3w, but these look so darn good. The sole tech, not new for them, but I really dig it. Thanks for leaving no stone unturned.

Pretty locked into my current fairway wood setup, but you know I’m going to be giving this a chance to make the bag. The hybrid is pretty much a no-brainer.
Still find it interesting they call their hybrid a UT
The GET sole is pretty neat. I loved rails on my hybrids but was lukewarm at best with them on fairways. Seems like this splits the difference
These look great. The GET sole sounds like a winner. And the big mole logo ???
I kind of love the little guy on the sole. He’s great.
the top line alignment is kind of awesome. I love the way it presents.
Not sure which I’d be more inclined to reach for right now. On the one hand, it looks like you could tie knots with trad version, but the Max looks like you’d have a hard time missing with it.
this is easily my favorite pic of the bunch.

GET Sole seems like there’s a lot of really positive ground engagement potential built in with some great rail-like presence. Figuring that will make fairway play sooooo much easier.
I have to say, the in hand pics do these WAY more justice than the stock stuff. They present so much better.
It’s interesting that the hybrid looks quite shallow at address but then the face on pic gives it a heck of a lot better depth presence. Curious.
really interesting release. I dig what they have going. Really like the shape of that UT.

the “face on” pic of the hybrid surprised me in a good way. I was even more interested in trying it after seeing that pic.

I have a few more pics of it I’ll put up in a while.
The glossy crown looks really nice and it sets up just a little friendlier to my eyes than the 767.

I can’t wait to see more
The wood base on those images just adds a workshop like look that goes well with the refined looks of the club.
One thing that strike me immediately with the Max is that it’s huge at address. Much of that is that it’s flattened out a bit to drive MOI up, but specs also show it’s sized at 200cc.
