Tour Edge Hot Launch Golf Balls

Introducing the Tour Edge Hot Launch Golf Ball

Tour Edge turned some heads in September when they announced the release of the Exotics golf ball, marking the company’s first entry into the market for golf balls. This three-piece urethane ball is designed for more accomplished or serious golfers, particularly those who typically use equipment from the Exotics lineup.

On the other side of Tour Edge’s offerings is the Hot Launch lineup, which provides exceptional value for the money. Here at THP, we’ve spent considerable time with Hot Launch, including the 525 line, and, as always, we find it challenging to find another line of clubs that delivers as much technology and performance at a price that undercuts the competition. Recognizing the differences between Exotics and Hot Launch golfers, Tour Edge believes the time is right to introduce their second golf ball to the market: the new Hot Launch golf balls.

“So many golfers benefit from our game-improvement technologies in Hot Launch clubs, so we’re excited to now offer a golf ball solution built on that same philosophy,” said David Glod, CEO and Founder of Tour Edge. “Just like the clubs, the Hot Launch golf ball is designed to help players hit it farther, launch it higher, and stay in play more often.”

Built for Speed, Forgiveness, and Straighter Flight

While the Exotics golf ball utilizes a KinetiCore construction, the new Hot Launch features an AccuSonice Core designed to increase ball speed. With a compression rating of 55, the Hot Launch ball aims to generate maximum speed for golfers with lower swing speeds while also providing a more forgiving option for those who may not consistently make clean contact on every swing.

Tour Edge has chosen a Surlyn cover for their distance-oriented golf ball, which is relatively standard in this category. Surlyn provides a satisfying impact feel and is more durable than urethane covers. Spanning across the cover are 312 shallow dimples that help reduce drag, but also deliver higher trajectories and lower spin off the longer clubs. With the combination of core and cover, this Hot Launch ball will also help reduce side spin, leading to straighter shots and allowing golfers to reach for a replacement ball less frequently.

“Testing with both amateur golfers and extensively with our in-house robot has proven that our aerodynamic design and 55-compression core achieve the optimal performance for this player,” said Matt Neeley, VP of Research & Development. “I’m excited for golfers everywhere to give this a shot.”

Short Game Expectations

Tour Edge doesn’t emphasize short-game performance, but they indicate that users can expect “mid” spin on both approach and short-game shots.

Two Distinct Ball Families, Matching the Club Lines

Tour Edge now officially offers two distinct lines of golf balls that mirror its club branding: Exotics and Hot Launch.

  • The Exotics golf ball is a three-piece urethane ball, designed for improved wind stability and better greenside control.
  • The Hot Launch golf ball is a two-piece, low-compression option that provides a soft feel, aimed at helping the average golfer achieve more distance.

This launch strengthens our full-line brand position and gives everyday golfers a new distance-performance option.
