Off Course is back this week with a fantastic show and this is episode 174. Hosted by Dan Edwards, each Friday he gives you a deep look into the world of golf and equipment in a way unlike any other podcast has done before. Today, Jason Horodezky from Kinetixx joins the show and takes a deep dive into the world of golf shafts and their brand.
It wouldn’t be Off Course without some tangents, but Dan and Jason talk about Mach and Hypersonic shafts and dive into shaft profiles and how they impact golfers. This show has a lot going on and is one you will not want to miss as Jason Horodezky goes Off Course.

Episode 174 is here and Dan and Jason discuss the following topics.
The Organic Nature of Kinetixx
Website and Future Updates
Mach and Hypersonic
Static vs Reactionary Shaft Profiles
And so much more

Time to get into some tech items I’d imagine. Excited to see how this plays out and hear details of the Hypersonic
Excited to listen to this one! Love Kinetixx shafts
Cool this one sponsored by Edel. Historically heel weight for me!
What’s an SMD part? And the potential of active fiber composites sounds really intriguing
The analogies Jason provides to help understand shaft performances is great
So how would Jason suggest finding the right tech to be part of you, tailored to you? I don’t think many golfers would disagree but that’s the trick to really grab momentum imho.

In previous interviews, he is a very strong proponent of fitting.
buckle up, boys. This one is heavy!
Can’t wait to catch this one later today, shaft knowledge and Kinetixx!

I know, but it also seems from this one that there is a level of skepticism or regret there aren’t more highly qualified fitters out there. I believe throwing darts at the balloons was the analogy in some cases

You did a nice job of not having it feel heavier than my Physics 201 class from back in the day
Always one of my fav guests!
If you want to go heavy, go out there and research a bit on active fiber composites (AFCs). It’s really cool if you want to nerd out for a bit.
A sample quote to let your mind wander the possibilities of integrating them into a golf shaft:
”The development of AFCs offers a great potential for advancing structural health monitoring techniques and active vibration control and suppression thanks to their flexibility and lightweight characteristics”
The problem with graphite putter shafts is the very limited application. I can’t use his putter shaft with my putter.

I believe that to be the case for Jason.
Hopefully THPers have someone in their area, but like some other companies, this brand is high on explanation sometimes needed.
Jason fully believes that nobody makes a golf shaft as well as Kinetixx, which definitely comes through in his message.

Made me laugh when he put you on the hot seat for a second.

You can definitely tell Jason believes in what Kinetixx is doing and doing it the best of anyone in the industry.

I was hoping Jason would touch a little bit on this, Very limited putters the graphite shafts fit into
Currently playing the Velocity and hoping in December that fitting numbers will show that the Hypersonic is a good fit for the Driver.. going in with open mindset but that is my hope.
Halfway through it. The other half on the drive home tonight. Interesting tid bit on the application of kevlar in their shafts.
I’m. So. Excited.
He had me at Venn diagram.

sadly, no tire v manhole tech data in this one.

 Make sure that’s on your list next time you have Jason on OC!
Give me MACH everything in 2024
enjoyed the episode, been pondering a shaft order, their website is lacking, was touched on the transition from Paderson to Kinnetix.
Reluctant to order direct and then take to a local shop, would much rather OEM or Kinnetix directly handle that, but striking out.

Now that’s an understatement, I might have to listen to this one again.
Finally got to finish the last 10 minutes and man Jason is taking aim. I appreciated how much he loves and believes in his brand.
This pod has made waiting for my hypersonic so much harder….

Yup, it was absolutely refreshing to hear him just go at it full steam.
The grip talk is interesting. @JB @xThor and I had a short conversation about grips at dormie and how much we hated a certain grip because it feel lose and out of control.
this just confirms my choice in grips is correct. Lol

Def interesting how grips can have an impact, if even just mentally
Some interesting comments. Kinetixx 100% does things differently. Makes me wonder and have more questions.
Mach iron shafts mentioned. Not on the website.. Interesting…
A few things
I love their shafts.
I think I want to try the Hypersonic
Jason seems like a very intelligent guy
I didn’t understand a lot of the conversation after “Hi Dan”

fingers crossed in Louisville you can take a few cuts with the hypersonic….
Lets just say that I got the cold sweats when I heard the little tidbit about pulling shafts. As i’ve gotten my driver shaft re-tipped. Glad I took it to a good shop.

@Canadan yet another great podcast. Jason certainly knows his stuff.
Unfortunately, after listening I no longer feel like a smart person. Most if not all of the explanations are way above my pay grade 😀

What, you guys aren’t experts in active fiber composites?
What a great episode! I understood maybe 20% of his explanations, but it paved the way to nerding about composites more!
@Canadan, any chance the episodes could be mixed to a higher volume? I often listen to them in the car and sometimes, like this episode, I have to turn up the volume to full and still have it a bit too quiet.

Interesting. Let me check some details, as higher in the past has led to clipping
Working through some back log.
man Jason doesn’t pull any punches about what they are trying to do and what they bring to the table. I need to get back around to trying another driver shaft. Whichever one is furthest from the velocity.

Mach.
Ventus killer.
“We do not violate the laws of physics. Nor do I want to.”
All time quote there. ?
Only about 20 minutes in. Lots to learn I hope. Should be a heck of a website, ha.
Just finished this one up. Jason is so freaking smart its crazy. Kinetixx certainly has some good products, I look forward to the updated website and I kind of want to try the Mach after listening to him talk about it.
