Today, KBS is introducing the latest addition to their line of steel irons shafts, called C-Taper Lite. Building off the success of both the Tour 90 and C-Taper lines, C-Taper Lite is designed for those players with a moderate tempo seeking a mid-high launch with reduced spin. The C-Taper Lite is a mid-weight shaft that offers a trajectory somewhere in the middle of the high-launching Tour 90 and the standard KBS Tours.
Here’s what Kim Braley has to say about his newest shaft offering:
DESCRIPTION
The KBS C-TAPER LITE shaft combines tour performance concepts with lighter weight construction for players with a moderate swing speed. Featuring a constant taper, proportionate wall thickness and mid-tip design — the C-TAPER LITE maximizes energy transfer while producing a mid trajectory and spin control. As a result, the C-TAPER LITE averaged 5 yards increase in distance during robot testing. The C-TAPER LITE comes manufactured with our signature brushed satin finish.
THP’s staff of product testers will be reviewing the new C-Taper Lite shafts over the coming weeks and months, so stay tuned for more information soon. These will be available for pre-sale starting June 5, 2013 with shipments starting in early July.
Very very interesting offering!! When I think C-Taper I think low spin, low launch with a very limited audience. To expand to a high launch option is great!
These seem very interesting. Could be a great fit for those who aren’t seeing quite a high enough launch in the Tours, but too high in the 90s. These might be a good fit for me!
I like the weight of these too!
Looking forward to hearing some things from the Testers
Wow these are going to be right up my alley. I have hit the regular c tapers before and liked them. I wanted a higher flight and these seem perfect. Can’t wait to hear more.
Interesting. I’m not sure I like the C-Taper lite name initially. When i think C Taper I think lower flight. But these according to their chart will launch higher and spin more than the KBS Tour. I’d give them a shot, but I don’t know.
I had heard a rumor about these and I’m really glad they’re finally coming stateside. Seems like a really nice fit for someone wanting a slightly lower launch than the KBS Tour 90’s, but with a bit more control like with the KBS tours
i think they are making the lines a little confusing but i do like the c tapers so i’d def give these a go if i needed more ball height.
Yeah, so I am definitely interested in these. I love my Tour 90s, but would like to check these out as well.
These excite me! I’ve come to the conclusion that The standard c taper is just to robust for me. A softer c taper might be the ticket! Looking forward to the reviews
The Tour 90’s have been awesome for me, I am interested in this new C-Taper Lite for sure.
Color me surprised and add me to the group that thought these would be a lightweight lower launching offering.
This line should also help to change the moniker that C-Tapers are nothing but line drive launching shafts.
Really looking forward to the feedback on these.
This is quite unique to hear about being that the actual C-Taper shafts are meant to produce low trajectory where as the C-Taper Lite are going to be a MID-HIGH trajectory and reduce spin. I cant wait to see how these compare to the Tour 90 and Tour’s.
Ill be consistently checking the feedback from the testers on these.
This will be an interesting outcome, looking forward to some feedback from the boys.
