It was only a matter of time, but KBS is officially entering the graphite putter shaft segment, and they are doing so as only KBS can. Which way is that? Well, with a lot of science and a splash of flash of course. Coming soon is the KBS Graphite Putter Shaft, which they have named simply, the KBS GPS.

KBS GPS
While the name might be a bit on the underwhelming and potentially confusing side, the technology and options in the KBS GPS should remedy that for most golfers. Naturally, this shaft comes on the heels of the success with which KBS has found with their foray into graphite in all other areas of the game. While it might have initially been seen by some as just a brand dabbling in something new, KBS has made graphite a long-term reality for the brand. By introducing this new putter shaft, they bring their total of graphite options to six.

The KBS GPS is a 120-gram design which will have a raw length of 38-inches which should give it some fitting breadth compared to other graphite options out there, and similar to those it will need to be used in an inner-hosel design (i.e. plumbers neck).

One key aspect to the GPS is that it does not increase in weight despite the stiffness and low torque nature of the design which KBS has integrated into it. Much of the design baseline came from the success and feedback that the brand found in their steel One-Step putter shaft which released two years ago. Here, the stability and strength of the graphite has increased feel while aiming to offer all the performance goals that has made this segment such a popular one.

That flash which I referenced earlier comes via KBS offering eight different color options from clean and classic KBS staples of red, white, and black, all the way to the bold nature of green, yellow, blue, silver, and pink.
The Details
Available: Early April 2023
Price: $165.00
Colors: Red, White, Black, Silver, Blue, Pink, Green, Yellow

I wonder if the GPS could help me find my way around the greens?
I like that they have several color options. I’d probably stick with the black if I got one. The name is pretty stupid. Surely someone could have come up with something a little more imaginative.
Im 100% going to be in the minority that I like the name. It’s catchy in that “what is it called” kind of way.
I personally love when KBS does color option stuff, and the price isn’t too ridiculous. I will be trying one when they’re available.
After first the name was a head scratcher…then it hit me…they have something here.
The color options are fantastic. I admit I’d put one in for vanity and not even care about the performance
They are doing some great things here from. I actually like the name it’s catchy.
Great write up @Jman !

100%
Hmmm.
I think it’s above my impulse purchase threshold tho.
Nice! Curious how these go.
Already wondering how that blue would look in my putter!

You and me both. I feel like I need a putter I can put one of these in now…. love all the color options!
As others have stated above, I love all the color options! A lot of putter shaft options in the market and I like how they are also giving us a lot of options with the colors.
8 colors!
Be sure to unpack this quote from @Jman article “One key aspect to the GPS is that it does not increase in weight despite the stiffness and low torque nature of the design which KBS has integrated into it.”
I actually dig the name and really like the colors.
At first I was wait, they are putting GPS on a putter shaft? Then getting a chance to read the article it sunk in and I actually kind of dig it. Likely not the target audience but nice to see more options hitting the market.
I dig the colors, the price is pretty good too when you consider that that their steel one step putter shaft is $95 now. If based off that it is interesting as I really liked that shaft. But, to me at this point to offer a putter shaft that can only be used in internal setups like a plumbers neck. Feels lazy.
wow love this!!! Great price too compared to the other graphite options
I’m still debating throwing a graphite shaft in the Edel 1.5, and having more pink options isn’t helping that ponder .
That Green in awesome! I love my carbon haft in the Odyssey doublewide Red Hot. I might have to build a backup putter with one of these!
Nice to have color options. I’m sure the GPS is another solid putter shaft option. One of these days I will try one of these interesting putter shafts.
I keep coming back to look at these. I’m not going to be able to resist that green one. 😀
I love the color options!
Oh HELLO! I like color options they are fun. Still a little pricey IMO for a putter shaft though which may be prohibitive for many.
I really like the color schemes on these. White seems to be a popular selection from what I’ve seen. I’ll be interested to put one of these in my Scotty. 🙂
A red one will look great in my 2023 Anser. Easy sale here…
Can’t decide between the red to match the bag or green.
Love seeing more graphite putter shaft options and love the colors they are offering!

The thought process is fantastic.
Above threshold price…
I’m back to check them out…
Which color am I buying!
I really like the color options!
Nice write up! Dig what they are doing. The color options are really nice and the stability and strength of these sounds impressive. It’s really interesting all the new things happening in the putter shaft space. Some great stuff coming out and this looks like another great option.
I like the colors! will be interesting to see how well they work.
I hope that OEM’s add as an option to stock shaft at much less than the $165 that is being quoted since saving cost of stock shaft and assume installation would be same. Although if paying more than a stock offering I hope it has more advantages than multiple colours.
I just don’t read any claims of it being a premium offering other than you can get in 8 colours snd it’s graphite. Am I missing something?
@Jman have you had one in hand yet and been able to test or is that coming in future? Testing will provide true story if worth the extra coin if there is more to the story than added colour.
Yellow one sitting in cart.
I have one coming, not sure what putter I’m going to put it in yet, but it is going to get a good shot at making it in the bag.
Is $65 worth the colors?
Got mine yesterday and installed it into a Bettinardi BB8W. Took it out to the putting green and compared it to my LA Golf P Series that I had been using the last couple of years. My first reaction was that the KBS didn’t feel as stiff as the LA, still stable, but slightly smoother through contact. Going to put it in the bag on Sunday to see it in playing conditions, but I like it so far.

I’ve held off a bit because of the brice. I think if it was 140 I would jump. Little over that threshold.
Now waiting on reviews.
Went to KBS experience today and saw the blue model in hand installed in a Betti Queen 5 and I have to say the blue pops even more in person.

I wasn’t quite sure how I felt about the labels on both sides but it’s growingon me
I’ve held off and held off on getting the green and I think I’m leaning yellow now.

in person it pops way more than photos can portray. So does the pink. It will definitely stand out on course

I wish the online photos showed the difference better. Kinda leaning matte, but gloss yellow sounds fun. 😎
Personally I want to go with Matte finish but I don’t own a plumbers neck putter or else I would already have one in the bag

I have several candidates.
Not sure where its going yet.
I got the blue gloss, already switched it to a Piretti head from the Bettinardi. I’ve gotten a few rounds in with it and so far it seems a little more responsive than the LA Golf P Series.
