It was only a matter of time, but KBS is officially entering the graphite putter shaft segment, and they are doing so as only KBS can. Which way is that? Well, with a lot of science and a splash of flash of course. Coming soon is the KBS Graphite Putter Shaft, which they have named simply, the KBS GPS.

KBS GPS
While the name might be a bit on the underwhelming and potentially confusing side, the technology and options in the KBS GPS should remedy that for most golfers. Naturally, this shaft comes on the heels of the success with which KBS has found with their foray into graphite in all other areas of the game. While it might have initially been seen by some as just a brand dabbling in something new, KBS has made graphite a long-term reality for the brand. By introducing this new putter shaft, they bring their total of graphite options to six.

The KBS GPS is a 120-gram design which will have a raw length of 38-inches which should give it some fitting breadth compared to other graphite options out there, and similar to those it will need to be used in an inner-hosel design (i.e. plumbers neck).

One key aspect to the GPS is that it does not increase in weight despite the stiffness and low torque nature of the design which KBS has integrated into it. Much of the design baseline came from the success and feedback that the brand found in their steel One-Step putter shaft which released two years ago. Here, the stability and strength of the graphite has increased feel while aiming to offer all the performance goals that has made this segment such a popular one.

That flash which I referenced earlier comes via KBS offering eight different color options from clean and classic KBS staples of red, white, and black, all the way to the bold nature of green, yellow, blue, silver, and pink.
The Details
Available: Early April 2023

Have you send the steel in hand? Think that pops a bit more between the two? Prefer graphite, and the performance of better, but the CT Tour is no slouch there either.
Haven’t seen the steel.
The graphite is pretty glossy and hard to get a good photo of because. But can’t compare to steel.

So badass! I really like the All-In but still want to try these and that is definitely the one I’d buy!
The gloss yellow GPS showed up on Friday. It is going into my cobra grandsport. I think I’m going to order the limited edition Superstroke Mardi Gras voodoo when it drops on Monday to go on it.

Played with the gps for the first time today. It took a little bwhile to get comfortable with it. But wow once you get used to the different feel it rolls so good. I made quite a few longer putts.
In my build I did put a 50g super stroke weight in the grip once I realized that the grip on the old steel shaft was close to 100g. Which does make sense because the cobra grandsport 35 has a 375g head.
I’m trying to figure out if one of these could be put in a Odyssey S2S?

Can only go on putter where the shaft goes into the head/hosel. The S2S is a shaft over and would have to use the LA Golf SoHo or the All-In shaft over hosel model.
As said not doable.
Why isn’t there a nub to inset adapter though? That seems like an easy thing
Might change the balance point? I dunno that seems like a fairly easy thing to make.

Just for nub putters ingeneral
Yea, I mean all it would be is a sleeve that basically fits over the nub I’m assuming your talking about under the current shaft and then it’s sized at .370 so this can basically insert into it right? it’d basically be the top part of the left 4 I’d need, but it’d have to be a little longer and obviously a tube.

I wonder what the size of that nub is…if I could find an old putter I could just cut the actual hosel off and use it as the sleeve?
You would want something custom. The look of a janky adapter behind the ball is going to mess with you.

yea I get that, but does anyone know the diameter of the “nub”? Like is that standard?

Scooby’s review worries me a little bit. I want a softer feel like a lab if you’ve ever hit it. And my current sl90 in my s2s just feels very dense to me. I have a really tough time with feel. So now I guess I gotta decide between this or the UST all in one. This things heavy too, i’d add 30 grams vs. the sl90.
Feel is a weird thing. Softer to me in shafts means less connected, less feel. And the SL90 I don’t think I would ever get to the word dense in describing.
The GPS is my favorite graphite shaft I’ve tried, but might not be for you.
Counterpoint: pretty colors.

Just from my limited experience with them, I think the GPS plays softer than the All-In.
I now have one of these on the way. I’ve never tried one so I’m excited to see the difference vs the All-in.
I now have 4 of these as they are my preferred putter shaft. A good friend also just had a CC fitting and has a GPS on the way!

Anything in particular? To me I felt the flex more and it felt softer. Some love it, wasn’t for me.

Great to find something you like so much! I really need to try it.
@JB – This was the KBS putter shaft I was talking about when we were talking about the very few graphite putter shafts that are in the market. Is this not truly a graphite shaft? Or just one we forgot about?

For those of us looking, an odyssey putter with a crank/ plumbers neck…370 hosel?

The new putter is in and I love it. The combination of the milled face and the KBS graphite shaft feels incredibly stable through the stroke while still giving me great feedback. Lag putting has been especially good with this setup, and the tempo just feels right. I am really glad I’ve pulled the trigger on upgrading the shaft to the KBS graphite.
