Ladies adidas Golf – Spring Fashion Preview 2010

Spring Fashion Preview is often about brands that someone won’t always find at their larger golf or pro shops. We try to introduce people to brands they might not have heard of before. However, sometimes we have to give credit where it is due and this season a well known company, adidas Golf, has seriously stepped it up with their Spring line. Adidas Golf has been a brand I have always liked because I thought their clothes fit me well, but the designs sometimes left a bit to be desired. All of that has changed with this Spring collection. The clothes are bright, the designs are innovative, and the layering capabilities are endless.

We have three outfits to represent the ladies Spring 2010 line by adidas Golf. One of the greatest aspects of adidas is their ability to be a one stop shop for buyers. From the hat all the way to the shoes adidas Golf can get a player course ready and styling in no time.

Outfit#1
This particular outfit was by far my favorite of the three we received. Each piece alone was spectacular and then combined made one hot outfit. Let’s start with the skort which is definitely bright but in my opinion truly says Spring.

Bottoms – ClimaCool 5 Pocket Stretch Skirt (Hot Pink/ White):
To me these bottoms are the centerpiece of the ensemble. There is a reason the descriptions says skirt and not skort and that is because this is a golf skirt that has separate shorts to pair with it. If someone wanted to wear the skirt off the course they could but if they are looking to stay covered during a gust of wind then they can put on the matching shorts to create a golf skort. I normally prefer when it’s one piece however the shorts that come with this skirt are pretty comfortable so it didn’t bother me at all. Featuring two deep and one smaller front pocket and two back pockets a golfer has plenty of options on where to put their glove. I absolutely love the pink color in this skirt and it matches so well with the top and pullover described below. The length is a little long so don’t expect to show off as much leg as Natalie but it’s still very sexy and is sure to make some heads turn. I have found adidas Golf’s skorts to run true to size and run from size 2-14.

Top – ClimaCool Textured Print Top:
Texture is the key element for this top and it adds such incredible dimension. With a self mock neck, piping on the arms, and color grading there is a lot for the eye to look at but with a good amount of white space as well it all ties together beautifully. The ClimaCool technology is guaranteed to keep a woman cool on the course and wick moisture away from the body. For me, I loved how lightweight this top felt. Even with the sun beating down on me in the middle of the afternoon in Florida I never felt overheated or had the shirt sticking to me. It is nice to see adidas Golf getting a little edgy with their designs, this top was a big hit with the women at the ladies clinic. Similar to the bottoms I feel that adidas Golf’s tops run true to size but are not extremely fitted. For a closer, more form fitting cut I would try going one size down. Sizes range from XS-XL.

Outerwear – ClimaLite Warm Half-Zip Mock (Flamingo/Hot/White):
Since it is Springtime the days are getting warmer but the nights and mornings are still a bit chilly. That is where the pullover comes into play. Lightweight and fitted the pull over is perfect for those cooler morning rounds. Moving with your body this piece will not constrict you when swinging. The color contrast with the zipper and piping is a beautiful compliment to the skort and really pulls the entire outfit together. I genuinely enjoyed the lightweight feel of the top. The pull over runs very true to size so if you are looking for something with a little more room then I would advise ordering one size up, sizes run from XS-XL.

Accessories – White Ladies Trophy Belt & 2010 Tango Visor (Flamingo):
Three bars is the signature logo for all things adidas including adidas Golf. So what better belt to pair with this outfit then the Ladies Trophy Belt in white? My only concern with this belt is how thin it is, I think a thicker belt might have looked better. I can think of several other adidas Golf outfits that I own where this belt would match perfectly. The three bar belt is just so classic and was a wonderful finishing touch.

A great debate in the golf world is whether to wear a visor or a hat. For me, I normally choose a visor because I have never personally cared for the way most hats look on my head, of course there are always exceptions. The 2010 Tango Visor matches this outfit so perfectly it has the lighter pink (flamingo) from the pullover and highlights in the top plus it has the hot pink to match the skort. This is a fitted visor too which makes it nice to not have to deal with velcro sticking to long hair.

Outfit #2:
We are going to completely change color palettes here and turn to the grays and purples for outfit number two. From top to bottom Spring is the theme of this getup.

Bottoms: ClimaCool Capri (lance/white):
Being 100% polyester CoolMax everyday stretch woven these capri’s are incredibly lightweight, soft, and move gracefully with your body. The CoolMax technology provides superior moisture management keeping your body cool and dry throughout your round. These capri’s are offered in four colors but I actually prefer the gray (lance/white) the best because it seems to be the most versatile. The white piping on the front and back pockets along with select belt loops add a small pop of brightness to the capri. My favorite feature is the adjustable tab hem. No matter how large or small your legs are they will fit comfortably into these pants because of that adjustable tab hem, it’s genius! These bottoms com in sizes 0-16 and from my experience run very true to size.

Top: ClimaCool Floral Print Polo (white/viola/sugarplum):
When I first saw this top I could not believe it was from adidas Golf. The floral pattern is not something I am used to seeing from them. The print has a very ‘girly’ look to it which expands the market of buyers and attracts a new type of audience. The top is incredibly comfortable and has an unbelievable fabric to keep a woman cool. I just adore the ventilated mesh on the sides and how the top feels against the skin it honestly feels like silk. This is offered in sizes XS to XL and if you want a more fitted look I would go one size down.

Outerwear: ClimaLite 3-Stripes Layering Top (viola/white):
Just like the Half-Zip Mock from the first outfit this layering top (I call it a jacket) is a great piece for the springtime. Similar in weight to the first one this piece is great for keeping warm during an early morning or late evening round. The two front pockets have zippers and the left side panel has the signature adidas 3-bar design. Personally, the color of this item is my favorite but if you are looking for more options it is available in a total of five colors. Sizes run XS to XL so if you want some extra room get a size up.

Accessories: 2010 Military Cap:
Remember earlier I said that I prefer visors over hats except for a few exceptions? Well, this Military Cap is one of those exceptions. Normally hats are simply too big for my head, my ears stick out, I can’t see, and I am just miserable. The design of this cap is different than the typical ladies hat which is often just a men’s hat in pink. This is a fitted cap with no hole for a ponytail which some might not care for but I really liked it because to me it was almost more like a fashion cap so I could wear it out on the town or on the course.

Outfit #3:
This final outfit is the perfect example of the versatility of the capris discussed above. Here we paired a different top to completely change the look.

Bottoms: ClimaCool Capri (lance/white):

Top: ClimaCool Taped Sleeve Polo (hot):
We saw texture with the first polo, flowers with the second, so it makes sense that this one is, for the most part, a solid color. Pink seems to be the hot color for spring and it shows in this polo. Not feeling pink? No worries, the Taped Sleeve Polo is offered in four colors. The solid color definitely makes this a simpler top then the two talked about above but don’t be fooled there are still some great accents including the stripped pattern on the collar and sleeves. For comfort I think this polo feels just as great as the floral top. Keeping cool is not an issue with the material and CoolMax technology. I also really enjoyed the v-neck, I find that style to be so much more comfortable on a hot day. This is not a fitted top so if you want something a little tighter I suggest going one size down. Sizes run from XS-XL.

Shoes: Signature Natalie
For all three outfits the icing on the cake would be a pair of the Signature Natalie shoes by adidas Golf. The Signature Paula shoes could work too but if it were me I would pair them with the Signature Natalie. Below are some imagines of two of the three color options offered.

Overall I was beyond impressed with the Spring 2010 ladies apparel line from adidas Golf. Each outfit provides a different look and style to please just about every golfer. Being able to show two completely different looks with the same capris really shows how interchangeable the spring line really is. Living in a warmer weather climate the cooling and moisture wicking technology that adidas Golf utilizes in their clothing is a major bonus because there is nothing more embarrassing then sweating through your clothes by the 9th hole. With simple and fun accessories like the 3-bar belt and visor or cap each outfit is taken to a new level and sometimes creates a completely new look. What we have shown today is only a small sampling of everything adidas Golf has to offer for the ladies for spring 2010 so to find out more check out their website here.
