I
Callaway: There was a moment with @DB_CG where I said something along the lines of how I couldn’t believe they were spending time in nowhere Nebraska with a 20 handicap. He very adamantly said that guys like me and other THPers are arguably more important than tour pros because we’re the ones spreading word of mouth to our friends. That really put the whole thing in perspective for me.
LOL. I had this exact thought sitting at the Hideaway and just looking around at every tee box. I don’t even remember what my handicap was back then. Probably mid 20’s and I couldn’t believe anyone with my ability should have the chance to be there. THP and Callaway disagree and they include everyone. One of the reasons I love this place.

I will tell you we had a little banter of course but we actually a very pleasant conversation the entire round. @JB and I have played a round or 2 before and he is always awesome to play with. A little ball breaking and a lot of friendly chat.
Too funny as I’m just seeing this now. I posted in the other thread about desktops/screen savers earlier today that I had changed my phone lock screen to this very pic. Great minds my man.

Nothing wrong that that, and lines up more what I was actually expecting. I don’t think anybody is going to an event with the intention to smack talk somebody down. But you know, a little chit chat is always good for the game.

Honestly, watching @thscott05 compete with @DB_CG in singles on day 2. I got absolutely steamrolled against @AT_CG as I just couldn’t get anything to work (I played decently the couple of days before), so that match was over quickly. Both The Scott and I had tough tasks in those matches and he stepped up. To be all square after 9 and then go 1 up after 10 was impressive. @thscott05 may have been just a bit amped up after the tee shots on 10 and DB just might have taken it personally ( :p ) and then turned it on. I know first hand from @DB_CG that he was impressed as well. What @thscott05 did proves that any high handicapper can stay in a match with an absolute stick and may even pull an upset if the cards fall the right way.

He immediately said stop that, you do deserve to be here, Callaway wants to support and hear from the average golfer and for that you do deserve to be here. He’s just an all around great guy and class act.

They played great. Not much you can do in that situation besides spell Tudor correctly, which I appreciate.

I did one thing right on Day 1. Thank you for noticing. I actually did go back and edit to make sure I always got the spelling correct!
Reading though our singles match was a blast @Wonger
But I have to share…after you won it was like you turned your Terminator switch off. Three poor shots in a row later (none of which you even came close to hitting during the match) my “frustration” came out and I just yelled out loud “what the fuck @Wonger ?!”
It wasn’t planned and it made everyone else bust up laughing ???
For those at home, frustration was in quotes because there was no actual anger or anything a part of it. It was just so shocking after the quality of golf that I had seen up to that point, I was out of sorts at what I was seeing lol

Austin in maybe the second fairway the missed in shamble on 18. If he were righty it would have been an interesting stance. He stuck this to less than 10 ft then 2 putt par to finish up the 70.

The putt on 18 that @Wonger got a video of is really cool. My single favorite moment though is after hole 17. I had a really good 2 putt from across the green… actually kind of blew first one past but made the comebacker to win the hole. As I was getting back in the cart it dawned on me that I had just gone 1up and guaranteed at least a 0.5 pt. We knew AT had won his match to assure at least a 4-4 split and as defending champs Team Tudor would get the rings. I looked over to @Muchmore and said something about can’t lose my match now. His response was “dude… you just guaranteed us an outright win at The Goat Cup!” His saying that to me is my #1.

Just the way it is situated in literal vast nothingness has to be an out of this world experience. Here you are, middle of absolutely nowhere Nebraska on dirt roads, and then you pull into an immaculately manicured golf course. And not only that, but incredible accommodations and 5 star dining. Unreal.

This may get a bit long winded so bear with me.
@JB I know you don’t want to hear this, but it still needs to be said. Thank you for what you’ve created here and the opportunities you’ve given someone like me to experience now two of these events. I know you want everything to be perfect at these, but know that even if something wasn’t in your eyes (like maybe the range not being ready exactly at 7:30), it didn’t take away from the experience from any of the participants at all. Thank you for dinner Saturday night and I enjoyed our little one on one conservation back to the cottages while the rest went out for more (hindsight being 20-20, I would have played that 9 if I knew bonus golf wasn’t available yesterday after singles). I hope I represented THP well and did what I was expected to do. Thank you again.
@JasonFinleyCG Disappointed that I didn’t get a chance to meet you in person, but know that you couldn’t have sent a better pair of people to represent Callaway than @AT_CG and @DB_CG Both are passionate about their jobs, engaging, easy to talk to, a blast to hang around with but most of all, incredibly humble and good people. To know that what you and Callaway represent are in good hands in your absence must make your job easier. Thank you for all you do for THP.
@AT_CG Man, it’s a pleasure watching you golf your ball. But it was even more of a pleasure to get to meet you, talk to you, hear the passion you have for your job and enjoy the experience with you. I appreciate the encouragement throughout the rounds we played together and keeping things light, especially during singles when I may have been frustrated with how I was playing. Your attitude proves it’s just a game and the comraderie and having fun is more important.
@DB_CG Partner. As one of two rookiees in this experience, I hope it lived up to your expectations and everyone did everything right in your eyes to represent both THP and Callaway. I had a blast playing with you in shamble and I think we were the perfect pairing – let me find the fairway and you bombs away. I’m even glad you let me use a couple of my tee shots along the way :p . If only we could have figured out the putting between us, we might been able to steal a point. I can tell you’re passionate about what you do as you just kept answering question after question after question during night 1 dinner and neglected to eat. Next time tell us to shut up so you can eat. :ROFLMAO: I hope you get an opportunity to represent Callaway at the Grandaddy, I can’t think of more deserving person.
@Muchmore “Moochie” Great to see you again. The passion you bring for THP was apparent the entire time. I’ve now had the honor of playing two rounds with you and they were both an absolute pleasure. I’m truly glad you got that monkey off your back (maybe a little upset it came at my expense :p) as no one deserves that kind of record, especially someone like you. The talk we had yesterday just and I before we went our separate ways was a low key highlight of the event.
@thscott05 The Scott. You represented yourself and THP well as the rookiee. You were passionate, engaged and I could tell you were enjoying every second of it. Your transformation from last year to now is inspiring and I truly respect you for what you did. And to know you haven’t been playing golf that long, you have the potential to get better. Way to compete in singles against a tough matchup. That was impressive. Enjoy your trip to CA with your family.
@bigbov The man with the big personality. The forum needs to know our first in person interaction to set the stage – I texted bovs which bar I was at in Denver to meet up before our flight to N. Platte. Described myself (scally cap, beard, Pearl Jam shirt, tattoos). I must have been looking down at my phone when he walked in because I get a text “put ur hand up” because he couldn’t find me. His first words to me were “I’m a dumb fuck, I can’t believe I missed you” I was literally less than 10 steps from the entrance. I knew immediately you and I were going to get along just fine. This is a man that can talk to anyone about anything and enjoy every second of it. The passion during the AMAs was evident, so much so some of us had to kept cutting in to get our questions answered :ROFLMAO:. If you ever get into another event, maybe use just a bit of sunscreen next time :p BTW, you’re still a dick asking me where I put my ring.
@Wonger What an incredibly warm, kind and generous person. He apologized to me yesterday morning about our alt shot match. I told him to knock that shit off, there’s nothing to apologize for, I’m the one who put you in the trap to begin with. We’re a team and we win together-lose together. But that’s what a leader does – takes the blame for when things go bad. He took charge Saturday night and got us the Uber to dinner because I think he suspected we were about ready to tie one on and he was right. I wish I got to see your match yesterday. Both @Muchmore and @bigbov had high praise for it. Thank you for being my taxi ride during the trip and the conversations during said rides. All my best to you and the family.

Me too my friend. Great guys in both pics.
Got home at around 11PM last night after a day of 12+ hours either in an airport or in a plane. Travel days like that really take a lot out of you. But I wanted to take a moment to say some things about the guys that I got to share this event with.
First will be @JB . I won’t say thank you for the event. I know you don’t like that. But I will reiterate something I stated earlier in this thread. Thank you for trusting me to be a part of helping bring this wonderful part of the internet to ever improving places. I don’t take the opportunities I have for granted.
To the Experience Goers:
@bigbov – my man. I don’t think I could have broken my streak of losses with anyone else. The confidence you gave me off the tee, and picking me up on the green when help was needed. We did that entire thing as a team and I couldn’t be more honored to have shared that moment with you. Then getting to watch you absolutely BATTLE the next day in singles and pull out that win was special. Killer. I mean when I say I’m thankful that we were cartners both days. I’ve heard a lot about how great of a guy you are and you blew those expectations out of the water. Anyone who gets a chance to play with the BOV will have one of their favorite rounds ever.
@thscott05 – THE Scott. We’ve had a hell of a year so far for 1st time experience goers absolutely crushing it. You’re right at the top of the list for that as well as showing vets how it can be done. I don’t think there was anyone more excited to be there then you were. Fully buying in and going all in from the very start. But I’m going to remember most is how well we held it together in Alt Shot. A match we weren’t supposed to be in. Almost triple the amount of coins bet against us in that one. We tied that match because of you and your shot on 9. Absolutely spectacular. This won’t be your last experience and I can’t wait to see what’s next and cheer you on!
@Mikey D – my guy. Besides JB and AT, you were the only one I knew coming in to this one and you’re exactly how I remember you. Extremely positive and towering over me in the height department  I know you didn’t play as well as you would have liked. I can relate to that SO MUCH. But I don’t think your attitude ever faltered. Your play allowed DB to absolutely open up off the tee in the Shamble and watching you make that downhill tester to tie the Alt-Shot match with everyone watching was special, even if it was against my team interest. My personal interest was to see you make that and I just knew you were going to! The last 45 minutes or so yesterday, we had chatting in the airport as well was darn awesome!
@Wonger – saving you for last seeing as you were here because of a tap I got to make. I don’t think I’m more proud of anything in this experience than I am of the fact that I was a small reason that you were there. You are the kind of THPer that makes everyone around them better. As a person, and as a THPer because you’re a prime example of how to carry one’s self. I’m a better person after sharing this experience with you. We had a few words on the range on Sunday and then again after the experience was over, that I will remember for a long, long time. I may have made “The Failed Guarantee*”, but I’m glad I did. It was a pleasure watching you make your way around that course…until you turned that switch off :p. I will see you very soon my friend.
To the THPers following:
Thank you for making this the biggest experience thread of the year so far. I know there was a bit on the line here with this one, but it means a lot to the guys that this one had so much going on. I’m reading back through a bit right now and the banter was spectacular. The memes were memorable. And the following in general was special. I had more notifications than I knew what to do with. I can usually keep track of quotes and such but I had no chance during this one. You all made it special for every one of us.
To the Callaway guys:
@AT_CG – I’d been looking forward to this experience for A LONG time. Especially after the 23 Grandaddy. I wanted to be in this event because you were in this event. Everyone who’s been in an event with you in the past, knows that that is reason enough. I mean JB said if he could, he’d have you a part of every single event. There’s a reason for that. Thank you for always treating me, and other THPers, like we are a friend you’ve known forever. It’s humbling being able to do what get to do as participants, but to be treated the way you always make sure to treat us brings these experiences up another level. Happy to be able to call you a friend. It was also a pleasure to hear how well your fam is doing and hearing your excitement talking about them!
@DB_CG – The perfect pinch hitter. What a freaking decision to sub you in after the late scratch. The passion you show for your profession, and the excitement you get from us giving feedback was intoxicating. Thank you for being a champ during the absolute bombardment of questions you answered while you were trying to eat the first night. Second night you were a rockstar and were locked in as well. It would be an absolute killer to Team THP if you end up getting the call for December, but EVERYONE would be better off if you do. He can be beat though…ask me how I know ?. I only say that because you already said we need to settle the score if I’m ever down in your neck of the woods. I have to make sure you didn’t forget you said that. Fantastic to meet you brother and hope to see you again in the future!
Finally, to the one who makes it all possible:
@JasonFinleyCG – It was a huge bummer that you weren’t able to make it. I know how much you enjoy these things and getting to meet THPers even if you have the Darth Finley alter Ego. This won’t be the last thank you that you hear from us. I hope you’re doing well and I wait for the day I get to be in an experience with you again sir!

Quick q&a answer
Fairway C and HLZ aren’t designed for lowrider. They are made to be walking bags. So they don’t see it as a necessary feature. While you may have it on a cart at times, they know walkers overwhelmingly purchase those bags and will be walking with them

finally got to the Q&A and I’ve wondered about this before, so I appreciate the answer (y)
