I’ll just say I haven’t been on the forum in a few years. Damn I wish I was. Hidden Creek is in my backyard. Would have definitely hooked up with you guys @ Harbor Pines for the early round. Guess I am jumping back in
Ok after a few rounds since this experience I can say I have seen some improvement. I learned some stuff with the data tracking and I can’t wait for my breakdown even though I have done some analysis is other threads.
@Gavin – Shot Scope gave me a tip on alignment while I was there that I have drilled in since I got back to AZ. When I use alignment sticks on the range it helps but I need to address the ball the same way each time. I have started to do that and the biggest improvement I have seen from this is in chipping and putting.
I’ll echo @echico – it doesn’t take a deep dive to the see the before and after this year from the putting help Gavin and Jen provided

We’re going to need cliff notes of both lessons please. I’m resurrection interested in the alignment tip.

For me, it was pace control with putting. Worked on a drill to drop putts within a club length, but to the hole or past. Hit 3 in a row from 7 paces, increase another step back, rinse, repeat.
The swing tip when putting was to try to rotate my kneecaps out, bringing stability to my foundation while putting (or just giving me something different to think about, kneecaps, to let me be an athlete and stop thinking about it, might be a bit of both.)

The cliff notes is Gavin called me a “big boy” :ROFLMAO:
He said I was getting in on the ball and then I set my shoulders to the right of the target every single time. I would go into every shot with my club in my left hand and then set up to the ball then put my right hand on the club, that pointed me right all the time. So he said to hold the club in my right hand and set the club face to the line I want the ball to be on. Once I set the face I then set my feet then my shoulders. I felt so open to target but after some time with it I have started to really get the feeling down. The added benefit is that when the club is in my right hand when getting set up the sensor is pretty far away from the watch. The watch won’t catch the sensor until I put my left hand on it and I am ready to go.
So one of the cool things about this was all the tips and advice on how to play and make smart choices on the course. It paid off yesterday as one of the comments was “get it as far down the hole as you can safely”.
After taking a drop for a wayward drive, I pulled fairway, picked a safe line for my typical miss, and threw it hole high on a par 5. I ultimately didn’t execute the up and down and still ended up with a bogey, but a tap in bogey after loosing one off the tee is a result I’d be okay with.

One of the aspects you don’t hear a lot coming into it is the ability to play with someone who was one of the top 10 or so amateurs in the world. He knows the game, he can help anybody and is so willing to do so.

He was so gracious with his time, and let’s not forget Jen can golf her ball as well. So cool to spend time with both

I was really excited to see both Gavin and Jen play while I was there. It puts things in perspective, if you let it, on what my game actually is. I had no illusions of trying to qualify for anything but I also know there is a lot of work needed to play gross only events. I don’t think that is my goal but I know I can get at least a little better. :ROFLMAO:
Hey I know them!

So one more I wanted to share when looking at my strokes gained. Pretty clear where I got the putting tips from Jen and Gavin.
