Fwiw, I placed my wagers before you subbed in unfortunately, with the hopes of a JB vs tinker battle.
Would knowing you were in the game have changed my wager on singles? No. Would it have changed my wager on overall winner of the event? Possibly.

Long time listener, first time caller.
My question is why is your Manhattan on a paper towel?

This is 100% a true story. I’m sitting at a hotel bar in Nashville and a few dudes just walked in talking about how they played a scramble today at Hermitage in Tennessee (I just checked, apparently a very nice course). They are saying that it’s one of the best courses you can play.
I am sitting right next to them in a Victoria National t-shirt. I am going to say nothing.

People do a great job here explaining how cool they are. So I want to say that yes it was, because I was expecting it to be amazing and it was. There were some differences which I talked about like how overwhelming the support is, and how humbling that is. To me it’s hard to prepare for that. When you are in the cottage and wake up and there are 100+ people already in the thread. It’s so cool
I’ve said it a few times but an added bonus for me was getting to play against Gavin which just seems crazy. My golf friends at home still have no idea how this even happened or works. (I have told them to join lol). So beyond the experience per say, getting the opportunity to tee it up with people like him and Jen (and @jdtox of course) is something that I’ll always remember.
It’s why I was so excited to make the putt the first day.
That’s a great question. I got probably 10yds more with irons and 20yds more with driver.
It was warm, and you got a bit more role with the woods.
On #16 I hit 9 iron at a 142 pin on day 1. Hit same club to 151 next day. On #5 I hit 8 iron to 153 or so the first day then 9 iron to the same spot the next
On #14 a big drive from me and Jen left us 188 I think the first day. Today I had 165 in up the hill
I hit 3 wood on #2, #4 and #12 further or same as my drivers yesterday
It’s a big difference
This was an excellent event to follow and thank you all for the killer posting you did even in the weather! Victoria National looked amazing both days. I really hope to see @jenisontheforum get some revenge next time she is do!
Safe travels home to all of you.
Congratulations to Team Gavin on the victory and thank you to each of the participants for making it feel like I was listening to live play-by-play despite catching up hours after the action was completed.
One thing that stands out to me is just how much @jenisontheforum and @Gavin – Shot Scope enjoy the experience and helping out the participants. You can see it in every photo, video and the presentation. It was said early in the thread that everything Shot Scope does is in the interest of helping golfers like us play better, and it really shows.
I have a working theory – stay with me here. I think it’s one of two factors – either @jenisontheforum is simply too good for her own good or a name change is in order. There is absolutely no way a player of her caliber should be winless in multiple occurrences of the event!
So after all that back and forth and waffling on iron choice, you made the right decision? ??

Yep. Impressive. I’ve worked at a few startups that manufacture hardware and have to have a software that works or people won’t use and will quickly stop using it. It’s really hard to do with such a thin team and really impressive.

Just finished reading the last 60 pages of this thread at my hotel in Nashville.
First thing I want to say is while you guys have thanked us for the updates. I cannot thank YOU guys enough for the support. It’s hard to explain the feeling reading back through this and seeing how many people were engaged in this thread. I was lucky enough to play with some THPers before the event (@lambeau , @ablankenberger , @Golfers Anonymous , @TrapGodEvan ) and then see so many other people I’ve posted with here following the event. It makes you realize how many friends you make here.
Lastly, I feel a bit bad that so many of you engaged during the event and I didn’t respond directly, it was nothing personal of course just the hectic elements of playing and posting. I didn’t realize how crazy it is being out there. You post something, hit a couple of shots and you’ve missed 6 pages. Including a lot of comments, many of them very supportive
Guys like @blazinden , @USAF Retired , @JetSpeed , @CBaker , @JGirard27 and so many more….I’m sorry I want to name everyone but just off the top of my head. I wish I had responded to more of your posts— all of the support was amazing
This is not just the best golf community there is—but one of the best places period.
Thanks so much for being a part of it with me!!
Jeff

I poked around at that quite a bit just knowing how much goes into hardware and software of something like this (This is my field of work)
So, a good percentage of their employees are doing that. Which means the marketing and sales folks are all wearing multiple hats
It’s really a passion thing when you have something like that. Their employees clearly love and believe in the product which is really cool. Just the amount of things that fall under Jen is pretty diverse

Yes but it also presents some challenges, we were talking about this the Monday night. Guys had different ideas about people to partner with , marketing they could do etc.
But with 40 employees , they are going to have one scriptwriter, one graphic designer , one social media manager etc. so you have to get creative about how you utilize everyone. I used to be a technical scriptwriter for the YouTube content of my old company, it’s hard to just put out this stuff overnight when you factor in the recording, editing etc.
I think it’s pretty awesome what they do with their employees. It’s also I think smart to manage growth and keep the company in a good position while you’re growing. They definitely have the right people for that if Gavin and Jen are any indication!
