At THP, we believe that testing should be done not only by us, but also by golfers just like you. One of the cool features about being an active member of the THP Forum is that we look to you guys/gals, the consumers, to give feedback on equipment to golfers all around the world. Each month we send out iron sets, drivers, hybrids, putters, trainings aids and golf balls to our active members to be a part of the THP Forum Member testing. So, who wants to test Callaway Opus wedges?

Callaway Opus and Opus Platinum Wedges
Last week Callaway released their brand new Opus and Opus Platinum wedges. If you missed our in depth feature on them, you can find it here. Tour feedback has been extremely impressive, as it has been from those that have found early access. But we want even more feedback and to make that happen, we are going to select FIVE THPers to join staff writer James in testing these out.
Testing wedges is a ton of fun because there is so much versatility taking place. You are going to select two wedges, one Opus and one Opus Platinum to test out and Callaway will ship them to you. From there, you will offer weekly feedback for a period of two months.
Criteria
We will select a group of 5 THPers that will join James from the THP Staff.
You must be able to check in on the forum thread daily (or close to it) to discuss and answer questions.
You will be reviewing the wedges for a period of two months and then they are yours to keep.
How to Signup to Test
Comment below and follow these instructions.
Step 1 – Go to www.callawaygolf.com and take a look through the wedge options that they offer and select the lofts and grinds along with finish that you would like
Step 2 – Post all of that information below along with your dexterity.
Step 3 – Answer the question of do you follow the forum reviews that takes place each week on THP? There is no right or wrong answer here.
You must go to the website to select the options and make sure lofts and grinds and finishes match up with the wedge you are choosing. You can also find a great easy to read chart right here on THP in this article.
We will announce the testers on Monday, July 29th, on the THP Forum.
Nice, cannot wait to see people’s reviews of these wedges. Super interesting for sure.
i’m not gonna sign up for this because I just got a new set of wedges, thank you THP. I am looking forward to seeing the thoughts from the testers upon receiving these. Good luck, everybody!
Great opportunity to test a great new release!
Opus 54* S grind, black shadow
Opus platinum, 60* Z grind.
Yes I can check in every day, and I follow forum reviews daily.
The amount of testing ops on THP is astounding. GL to all who enter!
Amazing opportunity for some lucky THPers! Cannot wait to follow along
I was very much hoping we’d get an opportunity at these. There hasn’t been a wedge to intrigue me out of my Edels UNTIL these came along, been looking at them nonstop.
RH Callaway Opus Platinum 52* S Grind, 56* S Grind & 60* Z Grind
I do not read them all, but I’d say I read a good amount of the product review on this site. It just all depends on whether or not I have an interest in the product and could be a potential buyer.
This is going to be soooo good! Can’t wait to hear those selected thoughts! These have me spinning with anticipation.
Good luck all!
What an amazing opportunity this is! I will definitely be jumping in to do some direct comparison! I can say the leading edge forgiveness on these is spectacular after seeing first hand this past weekend.
Thank you for this opportunity.
First off I had a difficult time figuring out the grinds in the pictures until I realized the w grind was a full grind, then it all made sense.

Answer the question of do you follow the forum reviews that takes place each week on THP? Yes, usually follow along with the ones I’m most interested in close to daily and will catch up on others that are around to read up on if there’s something that’s standing out or may benefit my game.
First off – Thanks to THP and Callaway for an incredible opportunity!
After looking at the site, and comparing it to my current Jaws Raw Setup this is what I think makes the most sense for me
Opus Brushed Chrome 54° / 12° S-Grind in Left Hand Steel Shaft
Opus Platinum Blue 60° / 8° Z-Grind in Left Hand Steel Shaft
This should allow the ability to test both lines and multiple finishes while providing a solid basis to compare to their predecessors in the Jaws Raw Wedges.
Lastly, do I follow forum reviews on THP each week? Short answer – absolutely. I have been influenced by numerous reviews on this site that have led to purchases of just about everything I play, including but not limited to ball, rangefinder, and clubs.
A great opportunity available here on THP is the ability to test new equipment.

Good Luck to all that enter.

I read most of the equipment reviews that THP offers. Especially wedges, as my current ones are non conforming. I like to know what’s going on.
I am at the golf course nearly every day, practicing, and/or playing. I would have no problem checking in daily to offer up my opinion.
I also appreciate the opportunity to enter this contest. Thanks for the offer.
Definitely in for this one. Just signed up for a membership of a practice area with chipping/pitching greens and so these would get a great, and more considered/structured, run out there as well as on the course. Will be great to contrast them with the JAWS wedges I currently game.

Yes I follow the reviews, contribute to those where I can add my own experience which has tended to be Callaway gear – but have also been influenced to buy based on them – ShotScope V5/X5 and Apex UW more recently – so I know the value that they bring.

I’m on THP daily, I follow review threads on products that are relevant to me and contribute content to them when I have valid input. I also listen to the Off Course podcasts about new equipment releases to gain additional information and insight, including @Canadan‘s episode last Friday where he had an extensive discussion with Paul and Brian from Callaway about these wedges. I’ve been playing the Jaws Raw wedges for the better part of 2 seasons and the MD5 and PM Grind wedges before that, so I have a solid baseline for comparison. I also play 3 days a week, year-round, so they would get plenty of on-course use.
Thank you Callaway and THP for this opportunity! Perfectly timed because I was eyeing the new opus to replace my aging gap wedge.
The opus brushed chrome 50w-I really like the w grind option on the 50. That seems like it would massively benefit my game. No more chilly dipping those 60-70 yard wedge shots.
The other option that drew my eye was the opus platinum blue 60z. I tend to be shallow out of the traps and that grind on the leading edge would help me to get into the sand and get the ball out. The added mass high on the face would also help me when I try the ill advised flop shot around the greens.
I am pretty active on THP and I love hearing and reviewing equipment. It’s probably made me make too many purchases, at least that is what my wife tells me.
Great opportunity. Big fan of my 54 Jaws Raw, so the Opus wedges are definitely ones I’m looking into to replace two of my wedges.
