At THP, we believe that testing should be done not only by us, but also by golfers just like you. One of the cool features about being an active member of the THP Forum is that we look to you guys/gals, the consumers, to give feedback on equipment to golfers all around the world. Each month we send out iron sets, drivers, hybrids, putters, trainings aids and golf balls to our active members to be a part of the THP Forum Member testing.
So, who wants to test Cobra King Wedges?

Cobra King Wedges
Those paying attention in the THP Forum this year, might have seen the rave reviews coming from this line. We want to continue that feedback and are looking for five THPers to provide it from testing.
Wondering which grind would fit you best? Cobra has a great description of what is offered here.
Criteria
We will select a group of 5 THPers that will each receive a full set of Cobra King wedges (3). If selected you will get a rundown prior to ordering of the posting and expectations. If you have questions beforehand, do not hesitate to ask below.
You must be able to check in on the forum thread daily (or close to it) to discuss and answer questions. All of your reviews will be posted in this review thread on the THP Forum and you must be willing to get started right away.
Please note: You will be reviewing the Cobra King Wedges for a period of a full month and then they are yours to keep. If you cannot commit to this length of testing please do not signup.
How to Signup to Test
Comment below and follow these instructions.
Step 1 – What Wedges Do You Currently Use?
Step 2 – What Lofts Would You Like to Test?
Step 3 – Which Grinds would go with Each of those Lofts and Why?
You must apply by end of day Thursday September 10th, 2026.
We will announce the testers on Friday, September 11th, on the THP Forum.

Fun opportunity:
Step 1 – What Wedges Do You Currently Use?
– Set GW, 56 RTZ adapt grind, 60 degree PM Grind
Step 2 – What Lofts Would You Like to Test?
-52, 56, 60
Step 3 – Which Grinds would go with Each of those Lofts and Why?
-52 in the Drop Grind for full shots.
-56 in the Versatile Grind to give a little bit more options around the green.
– 60 Widelow Grind for the bunker shots.
Interesting that the 48 and 50 degree wedges only come in the V grind. One would think, that perhaps adding the D grind would be an option here as one could use those for full swing or longer pitch shots.
Step 1 – What Wedges Do You Currently Use?
Titleist: SM11 46.10F, 50.08F, 54.14F, 58.06K Jet Black
Step 2 – What Lofts Would You Like to Test?
50.0° 8.0° VERSATILE (V) GRIND
54.0° 12.0° DROP (D) GRIND
58.0° 6.0° WIDELOW (W) GRIND
Step 3 – Which Grinds would go with Each of those Lofts and Why?
These seem to match my current setup which have worked well for me. The 50 has no other choice, the 54 matches my steeper swing, and the 58 needs to be low bounce to give me more options along with the high bounce of the 54.
As someone that has played the Cobra KING wedges for something like the past 18 months, this is an incredible testing opportunity! The KING wedges were great improvement over the previous generation (Snakebite) and are more than worth a real look if refreshing wedges. It’s time for me to refresh my wedges and I’m having a difficult time going a different direction.
Best of luck to all that sign up!!!

Sounds like a good time to sign up for wedge testing if the wedges need a refresh anyways.
Fantastic testing with arguably the most underrated wedges out there. So so so so so so so good.
This is absolutely fantastic. Love that more bodies will be able to get to play these wedges and provide feedback.
Step 1 – What Wedges Do You Currently Use? currently I use an assorted of Callaway wedges – a MD5, a CB wedge and a Rogue SW. I feel part of my next improvement is to improve my wedge play and become more consistent
Step 2 – What Lofts Would You Like to Test? 52, 56, 60
Step 3 – Which Grinds would go with Each of those Lofts and Why? Thought this through.
For the 52*, I would go with the D grind. My 52 I use with 3/4 to full swings generally from 75 to 100 yds out. this grind is designed exactly for that.
For the 56*, I seem to only use this club to get me out of the sand. I am a terrible bunker player, and since I use this club just about only from bunkers, it should have a grind designed to get the ball out. the W grind seems the best option for me here.
As for the 60*, I use this club virtually everywhere inside 50 yards. It is the club I am most comfortable with and I find myself grabbing it whether for the 50 yard half shot, or 30 yd and in chip shots. Since its my go to it needs to be versatile, hence the V grind for my 60*. Tossed around the idea of the T grind here, but felt that required a very shallow swing, where my swing tends to be more neutral.
At the end of the day, 3 wedges, 3 purposes, 3 grinds.
Step 1 – What Wedges Do You Currently Use?
Vokey 50 F, Cleveland 54 CBX2, Vokey 58 K
Step 2 – What Lofts Would You Like to Test?
50 / 54 / 58
Step 3 – Which Grinds would go with Each of those Lofts and Why?
50 D – Primarily used for full shots and bump and runs around the greens.
54 D – I hit shots more with a square face so the standard full shot grind has worked better.
58 W – The wider sole has helped alot with bunker play and gives me help when I run across a softer course for pitches so I don’t dig.

Man, it definitely crossed my mind more than a few times but just felt like I’d been so fortunate to have played the KING wedges over the past two seasons and hated to (potentially) take away someone’s opportunity to experience them for the first time.

thanks. don’t know how that happened. but corrected now.
Cleveland RTZ Black Satin 54(full), 58(adapt), 64(adapt)
52/56/60
Drop grind on all; I’m a very steep/digger, and that grind could really help me.
Another awesome opportunity from THP. Good luck to all who enter
Step 1 – What Wedges Do You Currently Use? Callaway Apex Ai200 AW (48*), Titleist Vokey SM10 54* and Taylormade MG5 60*
Step 2 – What Lofts Would You Like to Test? I would like to test the 48*, 54* and 60*
Step 3 – Which Grinds would go with Each of those Lofts and Why? 48*- This is mainly a full swing club so I would go with the D grind
54* T grind- My course tends to be a bit firm and I have a shallow swing. I think this would work best for me
60* V grind- I mainly use my 60 in the bunker and around the green. I think the versatile grind would work best for me
What an awesome opportunity, feedback on these so far have been really good and while I love my current wedges, its always fun to test out something new.
Step 1 – What Wedges Do You Currently Use? Callaway Opus SP 52S/56X/60X
Step 2 – What Lofts Would You Like to Test? 52, 56, and 60 as it fits with the current gapping in my bag.
Step 3 – Which Grinds would go with Each of those Lofts and Why?
52 – drop grind, this wedge gets used for mostly partial shots but every now and then I use closer to a full swing and I love that the drop offers that availability for full shots
56 – widelow grind, this is much different than my current X grind in this spot, but I think it will give me much more options around the green which will help my game
60 – V grind, this is most similar to my current grind in that spot with the ability to open the face. I love using my 60 around the greens and this allows me to continue doing so while also having that 30-50 yd pitch shot playability as well.

I would love to shaft that up and hit it, but never would because of the cool, one-off factor.

I still would. hit it till it’s served its life then save it. One way or another I need to try the king wedges. Snakebites have served me well, but need some new new.

The decision was made for me, as there were no lefty versions. So it will stay displayed. Honestly, I don’t think I would‘ve played it anyway – it’s so cool

Yeah i can fully understand that. I just have a hard time keeping clubs to keep them. I feel like it is a disservice not to game them. Different strokes and all.
Step 1 – What Wedges Do You Currently Use?
46/50/54/58 Vokey SM11
Step 2 – What Lofts Would You Like to Test?
52/56/60
Step 3 – Which Grinds would go with Each of those Lofts and Why?
52* V
56* D
60* T
I have a shallow swing so went with V on the 52 and T on the 60. Went with D on the 56 for some more bounce in the sound and have a high and low bounce option as recommended by Mr. Vokey
What a great opportunity for some people. I consider myself to be a bit of a wedge junkie, and hit hundreds of wedges per week. But I need graphite for the old joints. Besides I have another recently released 58* on order to see if I do want to go full set. One test at a time….. Good luck guys!
I will take a closer look at Cobra next time I am at Carls. I have never bagged anything Cobra for some strange reason.

I love that they offer the standard s400 as a no upcharge option. So many companies seem to only offer the “tour” S400 at an extra cost and I find that super annoying.
Fun fact. I ordered standard S400 for the Cobra Classic. They built my wedges with the tour issue version. Not sure if I’m special or they just default to TI as the standard offering.

Step 1 – What Wedges Do You Currently Use? Cobra King Black 50v, 54v, 58w (used since 2019)
Step 2 – What Lofts Would You Like to Test? 50, 54, 58
Step 3 – Which Grinds would go with Each of those Lofts and Why? 50v, 54v, 58w
Would love to compare the 2019 version to the 2025 and document my results! Trying the same lofts and grinds for a true apples to apples comparison. Thanks for the opportunity!
cool opportunity, hope people get after it.
Really thought there would be more entries for this one. Let’s bump this one back up too.

I’d have imagined it would be in the hundreds. By all accounts, deserves to be. Better chances for those who’ve entered, but hoping more people jump in!
I agree with you two. I guess everyone is content with their old wedges?
I like shiny and new, with fresh grooves. I have also never played any Cobra clubs. I want these to be the first (if I get picked).

That is seriously something I do not understand. No offense to you but this is not based on skill. These are high quality wedges that are probably better than you are using now. Sign up and if you get chosen, do a deep dive on technique and practice a little more and see if they help.
If not, pass them off to some other members to try.

I think I’ve already derailed this enough, but from my view the Cleveland CBZs have been a revelation for me this year. I mostly attribute that to the higher bounce of them causing me not to dig. Even going with the drop grind of these doesn’t get me where I think I need to be. On the other hand I’ve been tapped for the short game experience, so as long as I can go I’m already getting some Cobra wedge hotness.
So THAT is why no one likes me here 😞
Lol, this is a great opportunity.
I would have 100% been in but I already own these wedges haha.
I will contribute to the review thread
Step 1 – What Wedges Do You Currently Use?
50 degree Titleist Vokey SM10 F Grind
54 degree Titleist Vokey SM10 D Grind
58 degree Titleist Vokey SM10 S Grind (or low bounce K)
Step 2 – What Lofts Would You Like to Test?
50,54,58
Step 3 – Which Grinds would go with Each of those Lofts and Why?
50- Drop Grind- mainly only use for full shots and sometimes bump and run shots
54- Versatile- shots around 80-110 yards and like to open or close the face when needed
58- This one is tricky- when courses are firm I’d go Widelow… if really soft I’d go Versatile.
Last day to get those entries in.
Step 1 – What Wedges Do You Currently Use? Cleveland RTZ 2 50/54/60

I’ve been using a mix of fairly recent Cleveland wedges in my quest to replace my worn out RTX4.
A 56° SW is my 90% wedge for most any chipping and pitching, so a 56° is a must. For sand and short sided lies I use a 60° lob wedge most often and is also a must have. Most would pick an A wedge in the third spot but I’m going to pick another 60° instead.
I play with an open face most often and the “versatile” V grind fits the bill for the 56°. I have to go with the T grind for the 60°. The T grind is even more versatile than the V grind according to Cobra, which should make it perfect for firm turf around the fringe and hardpan bunker lies. The oddball choice will be the 60° W grind. It might not be my first grind choice, but the wide sole and the ability to open the club up and get lots of bounce makes it perfect for soft bunkers and winter conditions. Clearly it will be a platoon choice and I’ll get the chance to try all the grinds except for the plain jane D.
I never found the performance, let alone value in forged wedges and I’m looking forward to trying MIM technology for that softer feel, high performance and lower cost. The MIM design details look fantastic and is not too far away from my RTX 6 in looks and should make me feel right at home.
Step 1 – What Wedges Do You Currently Use?
Cleveland RTX 6 in 46 (F)/ 50 (M)/ 54 (M)/ 58 (M)
Step 2 – What Lofts Would You Like to Test?
Any of 50 / 54/ 58
Step 3 – Which Grinds would go with Each of those Lofts and Why?
50 – Drop
54 – Versatile
58 – Widelow
Get that entry in or forever be disappointed!!! Can’t wait to see who ups their wedge game!
There’s still time to fix those 50° Drop grind posts people. Drop only goes from 52°.

Step 1 – What Wedges Do You Currently Use?
– Mizuno Pro T-1 52S
– Vokey SM10 56D
– Callaway PM Grind 2.0 58°
Step 2 – What Lofts Would You Like to Test? 52, 56, 60
Step 3 – Which Grinds would go with Each of those Lofts and Why? D grind for 52 and 56 because I like the bounce numbers for those grinds with those lofts and will full swing the 52 often and the 56 occasionally. Can’t decide between D or V for 60 – which ever is the best for a mediocre bunker player. 😆
Oooooo I can’t wait to see who gets picked for this! Gonna be nice to see some pictures of some shiny new Kings!
