At THP, we believe that testing should be done not only by us, but also by golfers just like you. One of the cool features about being an active member of the THP Forum is that we look to you guys/gals, the consumers, to give feedback on equipment to golfers all around the world. Each month we send out iron sets, drivers, hybrids, putters, trainings aids and golf balls to our active members to be a part of the THP Forum Member testing. So, who wants to test the brand new Nippon N.S. PRO MODUS3 Tour 110 Shafts?

Nippon N.S. PRO MODUS3 Tour 110 Shafts
A few weeks ago, we reviewed the latest shaft from Nippon and if you missed our article on it, you can find that here. Excerpt from our Education Director, James Miles.
“The goal for the MODUS3 Tour 110 shafts was to bring a lighter weight design that could produce a stronger ball flight that helps prevent ballooning. Testing showed that across all three flexes, the new profile did just that. Controlled spin rates with a trajectory that works to its peak, perhaps not ideal for low ball hitters, but a potential breakthrough for those seeking to bring their flight down while also getting lighter in weight. ”
Criteria
We will select a group of 4 THPers that will join THP’s Education Director for this testing. If selected you will get a rundown prior to ordering of the posting and review expectations. If you have questions beforehand, do not hesitate to ask below.
You must be able to check in on the forum thread daily (or close to it) to discuss and answer questions.
Please note: You will be reviewing the golf shafts for a period of two months and then they are yours to keep. If you cannot commit to this length of testing please do not signup.
How to Signup to Test

We will announce the testers on Monday, April 7th, on the THP Forum

Honestly, everyone should be throwing their hat in to test these. They are fantastic.
No fence riding! Jump in!

I have an email out to my club guy at my course. I have many ideas. I will come back asap

@Jman , i’m sorry i would love to but there is nowhere within 45 mins of me that will do shaft work. I checked with my club
Otherwise this would have been right up my alley.
I may order my next iron set with these just for fun
I’m very tempted to throw my name in. Love Nippon, but really not sure I can go back to steel.
I am so in on this, and would love to try a bit of a step down in weight.
Step 1 – Tell us what iron shafts you currently play? Project X LZ 6.0
Step 2 – What club heads will they be going into
T150
Step 3 – What Flex do you typically play?
Stiff
I would love to throw those into the MC clubs I got coming with some spicy ferrules but I am giving graphite a fair shake. I will not change shafts before I even have the clubs. :ROFLMAO:
Good luck to those that enter!
Step 1 – True Temper AMT Tour White
Step 2 – Callaway Elyte
Step 3 – X
I’ve been waiting for this ever since I fell in love with the modus 105 but was fit into the 115. I’m as average of a swing speed as possible with my driver being right at 106-109. Handicap hovers in the +2 – +3 range. Would love to provide feedback and insight on this. Can post LM numbers comparing the 105, 110, and 115 as I have sets of the 105 and 115. I’ve also incorporated Trackman into my year round range sessions. These would replace the 105 as it’s always been my favorite I just get too loose with it.
Currently play modus 115 S
These would be going in my T150 irons
I play stiff hard stepped which is fairly easy as I play a 4-PW set.
Thank you, hope to share some good info on a unicorn I never saw coming.

Mizuno jpx923 tour
Prefer slightly heavier (bring flight down)
Good luck everyone!

Step 3 – What Flex do you typically play? Stiff

Cobra darkspeeds

I really, really loved the 1150GH Tour X shaft I had in some beautiful CB forgings. I think they were the MR23 heads. Just smooth and nice trajectory. I’ve played the Modus3 120 X in wedges and they have such good feel while playing somewhere between stiff and traditional X shafts. I actually have a difficult time understanding the Modus line. I do wonder what sort of profile these will have – the Modus 120 line plays so much softer than the 105 line… what will the 110 be like?
KBS $taper
Mizuno JPX923 forged
Stiff
This would be an excellent test. I also have P790s with the KBS shaft so can give side by side comparison
Currently playing Project X 6.0
These would be going into Apex 21 heads
Stiff shafts have been what I’ve been playing and fit into
Not for me but good luck to everyone throwing their hat in for these.
Great opportunity here!
Still so much fence riding!
Trust me, this will be a fun one to be part of.

The article linked gives a bit of insight, but the best way to know is to give it a try. Its worth throwing your name and then you can answer your question first hand.
Love my Modus 105s. With my slower Swing right now these are too heavy but I can see these Shafts staying in whatever Heads they are going in.
Good Luck all.

The article tells you what you can expect, if you haven’t read it you can find it here:

1.I am currently gaming two sets of irons. Nippon Modus 105 is my go to, but also experimenting with Dynamic Gold 105, all in stiff.
2. Ping i230 and Ping i210 have Modus 105 stiff
Ping i59 have TT Dynamic Gold 105 stiff
3. Been doing club repair for 50 years.
1. Modus 3 105
2.- Titleist t200 2023
3. Stiff
This is a cool opportunity. Would love to put in but not sure how I’d do it as I don’t want to/have the resources to reshaft my Forged Tecs. Pretty sure I still have my old XR Pro heads but not sure that would be a good test.
That’s a great one. I have 105s and love them.
I love a good shaft test. Not in on this as I they are a bit heavy and I have new irons. I have really liked some of the Modus offerings though.
Another great testing opportunity. I’m looking forward to following along and hearing the tester’s thoughts.

This quote from @Jman really sold me.
“According to Nippon, they essentially think of it as design pieces from the 120, 130, and 105 amalgamating to create this new design. Given that those are all very different profiles, it is an interesting thing to consider, then again, it does make sense considering the company has been adamant that there is nothing like this shaft out there.”
Love the 120 and 105 so an amalgamation of those sounds so good

I’m looking into some options. I don’t want to rock the boat right now with what I have going on with my Apex CB. My iron play is as good as it’s been in a long time.
This is so awesome!!!
Step 1 – I currently play LA Golf L-series 4 (stiff)
Step 2 – These will go into a spare set of Ping i59’s
Step 3 – I usually play stiff, but I’ve previously been fit into Modus 3 120X, so I would probably need an X in these 110’s
Oh this would be fun.
Step 1 – Tell us what iron shafts you currently play?
Currently playing dynamic gold s300 stiff shafts. Too short and too soft.
Step 2 – What club heads will they be going into
MP-67 in all their muscle back glory
Step 3 – What Flex do you typically play?
Stiff/X
This would be a fun comparison to try in these heads!
If I had a set of irons that needed shafts, I would definitely enter. Nippon makes the best steel shafts.
Can’t wait to see what everyone says about these! I played the 120 modus for a while so hopefully someone can give a comparison
1. Catalyst 80.
2. Cobra Speedzone.
3. Stiff.
Step 1 – Tell us what iron shafts you currently play? Project X Rifle 6.0
Step 2 – What club heads will they be going into? Callaway Rogue ST Pro irons
Step 3 – What Flex do you typically play? Stiff
KBS $ Taper 120
Cobra King cb/mb
Stiff
Really want to try these shafts and really wanted to enter as I just think my Modus 120TX are no longer working and likely too stiff. However, having only 1 set, it was really hard to commit to 2 months of testing if they didn’t work for me for some reason. Good luck everyone. Will probably regret it.
This is all closed up.
Testers will be announced tomorrow.
I’m actually looking for a new chef and I was eyeing this one this would be a great test for me and my swing. I’m currently playing MMT TX 105 shaft in Callaway Apex CB.
This would be a great test for me and my YouTube channel
