At THP, we believe that testing should be done not only by us, but also by the golfers just like you. One of the cool features about being an active member of the THP Forum is that we look to you guys/gals, the consumers, to give feedback on equipment to golfers all around the world. Each month we send out iron sets, drivers, hybrids, putters, trainings aids and golf balls to our active members to be a part of the THP Forum Member testing.
We recently took a closer look at Takomo Golf and why the company is about more than just the direct-to-consumer label. Now it’s your turn to experience them. We want to put Takomo irons in your hands!
Who wants to test out Takomo Irons?

LOOKING FOR TESTERS!
Takomo Irons
Each tester will get a set of Takomo Irons in their stock configuration. We will have a person reviewing each set that they currently offer.
- 101 MKII Distance Iron
- 201 MKII Players Distance Iron
- 201T MKII Modern Players Iron
- 301 CB Players Cavity Back Iron
- 301 MB Players Muscle Back Iron
- 301 Combo Set (CB and MB).
Criteria
THP will select a group of 5 THPers to test the irons alongside Hawk. He will be testing the 101 MKII’s, and we will select a single person to review each of the other sets. If selected you will get a rundown of what is expected prior to receiving your irons. If you have questions beforehand, do not hesitate to ask below.

You must be able to check in on the forum thread daily (or close to it) to discuss and answer questions. All of your reviews will be posted in a review thread on the THP Forum and you must be willing to get started right away.
Please note: You will be discussing the set of irons for a period of 60 days and then they are yours to keep. If you cannot commit to this length of testing please do not signup!
How to Signup
First, go to takomogolf.com and use their fitting tool to find the right iron set for you.
Then, post in this thread the answer to these 3 questions.
1. What irons do you normally play?
2. What Takomo set did the Fitting Tool suggest?
3. Can you play golf outdoors and regularly provide feedback?
You must apply by end of day Friday July 17th, 2026.
We will announce the testers on Saturday, June 18th, on the THP Forum.

Agreed and much respect to Takomo for coming here and doing this. We’ve sometimes been a bit skeptical of these brands and their tech so it’s a great opportunity to see this community review their products.
1. Mizuno MP-68, +1/2″, X-Stiff
2. 301MB, +1″, X-Stiff
3. I play outdoors once per week. I have my own simulator on which I play a minimum of 4 rounds per week (I have 3 kids, don’t judge me). I have a background in engineering/testing outdoor power equipment, I would love to use the sim to compare swing stats between old and new irons!
This is so epic! I would love the opportunity to test these out!
1) Cobra LTDX One Length – KBS Tour 80 90 and 120.
2) Fitting tool suggested the 301 CBs – Based on your answers you should play Standard length with the KBS Tour Lite Regular. Standard Lie Angle. Recommended grip size is standard grip.
3) I can play a walking 9 course and a full 18 course 2-4 times and week and would love to give regular feedback everytime I play and practice.
Wasn't sure this would be open to LH, but don't see anywhere that it's not so here goes nothing.

Cobra 2022 Forged Tec 5-PW
2. What Takomo set did the Fitting Tool suggest?
201MKII
3. Can you play golf outdoors and regularly provide feedback?

This is a great chance to try something new. I’ve heard a lot about these clubs over the last few years. With older irons I’m in the makers and would enjoy the chance to try Takomos.
1.) Currently play with an old Adams Golf iron set.
2.)201MKII +1/2”, stiff
3.) Yes, typically I am able to get out and play 3-4 rounds a week
This is awesome and a great opportunity! I am a junior golfer who practices and plays everyday. I currently game a combo set of Taylormade p770(4-6) with a nippon modus tour 105 s and Taylormade p7cb(7-p) with the same shafts. The online fitter reccomended me for the 301 cb.I think I could bring a unique testing experience as I play tournament golf 1-2 times a week. Thanks for the opportunity.
1. What irons do you normally play? Srixon Z- forged II
2. What Takomo set did the Fitting Tool suggest? 301 CB
3. Can you play golf outdoors and regularly provide feedback? For sure, I’m at the course everyday as long as it doesn’t rain.
I'm excited to throw my hat in the ring. Thanks to THP and Takomo for this great opportunity!
1. What irons do you normally play?

So if possible, I would like to test the 301 Combo Set (CB and MB), Standard length with KBS Tour Lite Stiff, Lie angle Upright 1°, Midsize grip
3. Can you play golf outdoors and regularly provide feedback?
Yes I play 3-5 rounds per week and 3-4 tournaments per month. If you choose me as a tester, then you will definitely get regular feedback from me on the clubs.
Thank you guys for the opportunity!
1. Currently play Mizuno JPX 919 Hot Metal w/ KBS C-Taper Lite 110
2. Best: 201 MKII Second: 201T MKII
3. Yes very much so. Im a member at a club, practice and play regularly.
My only question would be could I do a shaft swap if I provide my own shafts and get it professionally done?
I am excited to see a lot of others fitting into the 201T be nice to see how those perform
The look of these irons are really catching my eye! Such a unique testing opportunity provided by THP!
This looks like a incredible opportunity, my son has the 301 and loves them. I would appreciate the opportunity to try and review the 101 MKII. I have been interested in them since December.

2. 201T MKII

We will be closing this today and announcing testers tomorrow.
Today’s the last day to sign up. Sounds like we get to find out tomorrow who’s testing these. It’s going to be very interesting to see what THPers have to say about this lineup. Secretly hoping I’m one of them. I’ve hit them a few times out of other bags but not enough to form an opinion one way or the other.

I am with you! I am really interested in this! I’ve heard the irons are great, but I’ve also heard some negative things about Takomo. I don’t really agree with the negative, I think most negativity comes from the player, not the equipment. So super interested.
I am looking forward to this follow also. If my game was better I would have thrown my hat in the ring to test these. Right now I couldn’t do a comparison justice.
I was put in the 201T in the fitting utility which would be an interesting comparison to my PXG 311Ps.

I really want to see them in hand. I have never even seen a set of Takomo irons in the wild.
Of course I'd love to be selected too! Hitting the 201 MKIIs head to head with my MP 245s and the previous version Takomos, the 101Ts, would be a fun way to spend the next couple of months.
Last day!!! Then it’s time to follow along with those THPers testing them!
Really looking forward to following along on these reviews.
I never thought I’d see the day with a Takomo / THP collab
Interesting watching all the various recommendations. Mid HC’s are predominantly in the 201/201T clubs (with a few outliers) and the users with lower posted HC’s are getting recommendations for the 301’s. Makes sense, but interesting none the less. Haven’t seen anyone get recommended the 101’s.
I’m in though. I plat at least twice a week with a practice day or two. I have a MLM I use as well (w/no spin info) .
1. Currently playing ’24 Apex Pro 6-AW
