At THP, we believe that testing should be done not only by us, but also by golfers just like you. One of the cool features about being an active member of the THP Forum is that we look to you guys/gals, the consumers, to give feedback on equipment to golfers all around the world. Each month we send out iron sets, drivers, hybrids, putters, trainings aids and golf balls to our active members to be a part of the THP Forum Member testing. So, who wants to test the different distance measuring devices from Vortex Golf?

Vortex Rangefinders
Earlier this year we took a detailed look at the brand behind the devices. If you missed that feature story, you can find it here. After that we did some forum testing on the Vortex Anarch laser and you can see our Wrap Up with quotes from the people that put it into play for a period of a month. Universally enjoyed as being a best in class device.
We decided we wanted to do it again and this time include the different models in one test. The Anarch, the Blade Slope and the Blade and we will select two people for each model from Vortex to do some long form reviews.
Criteria
We will select a group of 6 THPers to be a part of this. If selected you will get a rundown prior to ordering of the posting and review expectations. If you have questions beforehand, do not hesitate to ask below.
You must be able to check in on the forum thread daily (or close to it) to discuss and answer questions.
Please note: You will be reviewing the rangefinder for a period of one full month and then it is yours to keep. If you cannot commit to this length of testing please do not signup.

How to Signup to Test
Comment below and follow these instructions.
Step 1 – Tell us what laser or GPS unit you currently use
Step 2 – Tell us how often you play
Step 3 – What Features matter most, not including accuracy?
You must apply by end of day Thursday October 16th, 2025
We will announce the testers on Friday, October 17th, on the THP Forum.

I had the privilege to review the Anarch earlier this year. Such a great device. Make sure you sign up for this one if you haven’t already.
I currently use a Bushnell Tour V5 Shift
I play at least once a week
Weight, does it feel too heavy like the magnetic won’t stick when you go over a bump, ease of use, and speed, how quickly does it pick up the targets.
bump
We just had our annual “Blizzard Open” change time due to forecasted lower temps. I’m going to need to pull my name out of the hat – if that’s happening already it sounds like the courses are going to be open less than usual and with that I will be more limited.
Thanks for the opportunity
Step 1 – Tell us what laser or GPS unit you currently use – switch between Pinned and Bushnell
Step 2 – Tell us how often you play – several times weekly
Step 3 – What Features matter most, not including accuracy? – Magnet, magnification, optical clarity, speed in which target is acquired, needs to be tournament legal
This is a very cool opportunity. Good luck and look forward to the chosen testers’ thoughts.

Everyone raves about Vortex rangefinders, so I have to throw in for this one and hopefully find out:

Adding to this – also bumping to make sure all interested THPer’s don’t miss out on the opportunity.

Step 1 – I use the Blue Tees 3 Max
Step 2 – once to twice a week for 9 holes and then 18 on a few weekends a month
Step 3 – image stabilization with a lock on feature. I’ve always had shaky hands so with my current range finder I’m having to shoot the target multiple times to get a reading.
Currently use a Blue Tees Series 3 Max+.
Play 4 to 5 days a week.
Being able to easily shoot hazards is important to me.
I would love to be considered for this!
Step 1 – RedTiger (Amazon)
Step 2 – ~75 rounds a year
Step 3 – Clarity of optics and the magnet
Currently using the Garmin Z30 which is pretty good when paired with a Garmin watch. I play 2-3 times per week and the features I like the most are slope, distance triangulation, image stabilization, bright display optics, speedy measurements, flag lock and caddy/plays like distance that accounts for environment
Step 1 – Bushnell V3 (No Slope)
Step 2 – At least once a week at the local club – have been traveling for golf a lot more recently and need additional features from the range finder.
Step 3 – Slope and front and back of green measurements. I like lock on features to ensure that I am in fact hitting the target that I am aiming for!

Great opportunity!! I would throw my name in but I’ve already ordered an anarch.
1. Bushnell Pro XE
2. 3-4 times a week
3. Steady in the hand, good visual when locking on, solidly built and not too big
Thanks great opportunity

I agree. One I had must of had the worst magnet known to mankind. It fell off on the first hole and broke the screen. Hasn’t worked since. 1st hole!!

I love this opportunity for the forum members! Golf season in Michigan is winding down, but I’ll look forward to the reviews from those still able to play.
1. I currently use a Callaway 300 Pro, nothing fancy but it gets the job done.
2. I play probably 4-6 times per week.
3. Zoom capability and how clear the screen is. As a scratch golfer, I’m often going for the green on par 5’s from 200-250 yards so it would be useless to have a rangefinder that can’t zoom in on the pin from that far away.
Last day to signup
I am shocked this is not at 10+ pages with people signing up.
Testing is not that difficult since you simply use it and report back on your thoughts.

I can’t speak for others, but I have refrained due to knowing that my playing chances are going to be extremely limited due to weather, earlier sunset, and family needs. I don’t want to do a disservice to the community by taking on something I can’t give adequate testing to. Otherwise I’d be very in on this. I’ve only heard awesome things about Vortex.

Totally fair.
I was wondering about those in areas that cannot post their scores for the rest of the year.
Last day, y’all jump in here. You won’t be disappointed.
Last day folks! Get those entries in. Real great opportunity to test out something simple needed by every golfer.

I don’t think not posting is an issue, but a lot of the country pretty much loses the ability to play at all pretty soon. Although maybe it would be a really good test of a rangefinder to see if you can lock onto a white pin flag with a snowbank in the background. :ROFLMAO:
Same here. I haven’t put the clubs away for the winter yet, but my opportunities are now strictly weekends, and those are filling up fast with other things.
I will also throw my name in the hat for this testing opportunity…
Step 1 – Bushnell V4
Step 2 – Minimum once a week (Saturday) but sometimes Wednesday and/or Sunday
Step 3 – Target locking; which also means quality optics.
Step 1 – Tell us what laser or GPS unit you currently use Bushnell Tour V3
Step 2 – Tell us how often you play Once a week
Step 3 – What Features matter most, not including accuracy? Slope adjustment and image stabilization. My current rangefinder is dated and offers neither. I also have to use a bulky magnet strap

Well now that definitely has to happen, for science.
One more bump
Bump!
Step 1 – Tell us what laser or GPS unit you currently use: Vortex Anarch (since Dec 2024) – Had a Precision Pro previously.
Step 2 – Tell us how often you play: Twice a week
Step 3 – What Features matter most, not including accuracy? Magnet, stabilization and warranty.
I’m not entering but I have used the Anarch for just about a year, and currently at 89 rounds for the year. If needed I can add my experience with the Anarch
