THP was lucky enough to have professional golfer Meredith Duncan over to the course for some tips and lessons as we played a round of golf. One of the most requested ideas for a video was on the troubles some have in the sand trap. In this video, watch the LPGA star give some tips to GolferGal on how to play out of a bunker.

Great video. Like others, loved that ice cream scoop analogy. I’ve been struggling out of the sand for probably the last year or so, mainly for the reason GG stated – hitting 6″+ behind the ball and getting no elevation on the shot. Next time I’m at the range I’ll have to give these tips a try and see if I have some luck!

Great video!!! I wish my course would get the practice pit ready! I am terrible out of the sand.

The sound of Meredith’s shot @ 1:30 is awesome, that is the “thump” sound we here about so often in describing bunker play.
