You have all heard the terms and buzz words associated with iron types and most when you look at the different sets lined up, you can see the larger vs smaller club heads, technology in the cavity and so much more packed into irons today. But have you ever asked yourself the question what makes Game Improvement irons forgiving? What design qualities do different irons have that would make the ball react differently?
THP TV sat down with Mike Yagley, Director of Innovation and Testing at Cobra Golf, and had him show the internal structure of different irons and what they are designed to do. From muscle back to completely hollow body designs, the explanations of the design role in forgiveness and more is discussed.
Shot in 4K so THP Recommends full screen viewing
What style of irons do you prefer and how do you think the design helps you?
Really cool to see the various structural designs and hear about the purpose of the designs.
This set is really interesting to see in terms of construction, because it covers the gamut of design across a lot of different iron lines because of the progressive set. Also really, really cool to see what was changed in the ONE set.
Great Video. I love learning how clubs are made and the technology involved. Mike should be a teacher. He explains things so everyone can understand!!
Great video the comparison from variable to one length was fascinating, the small weighting tweaks to get it where it needs to be.
Master Yagley, truly is the best.
Excellent video. I liked seeing the differences in the design.
really cool video. love seeing the “guts” and getting the info on why everything is constructed the way it is.
