Piers and Andy.
Honestly, if you are a true internet golfer, then you likely yelled aloud “Me and My Golf!” when you read their names. If you aren’t, then no worries, we won’t be revoking your internet street cred card anytime soon, but we will be giving you a little rundown of just who these two massively popular PGA Teaching Professionals are as well as their debut into the world of training aids.
Curious? Well, lets get into it, shall we?

Me and My Golf
A quick rundown for those unaware, Piers Ward and Andy Proudman are the founders and purveyors of perhaps the most popular online golf instruction platform on the planet, Me and My Golf. For over 20 years this duo has been coaching with the soul purpose of making improvement possible and accessible for golfers of all skill levels. Their philosophy is one that relates to so many golfers because they don’t believe in one specific method or a specific kind of look of a golf swing, but rather the method of helping people improve with what they have.
In 2011 they founded Me and My Golf and began creating instructional videos that address not just the swing but specific issues people are seeing in their own game and how to address, then correct, them. Starting on YouTube before founding their own online site and membership program, the duo have over 840,000 subscribers and more than 195 million views.
Piers and Andy are also big believers in using modern technology to help golfers, and today marks their foray into not just showcasing training aids that can help, but now also creating them.
The Breaking Ball Putting Mat
Before you say, “Oh, another putting mat!”, you will want to take a step back and look at this the Breaking Ball Putting Mat. Yes, it’s a mat with the typical distance and target indicators one would expect. Yes, it is a roll flat system that touts durability along with ease of use and storage. Of course, it comes in two different lengths of 7.5 and 11 feet to fit a variety of needs and spaces.

What makes it different? Well, the golf balls that come with it. What I mean is that each mat comes with three different color coded (single colored line) golf balls, each of which breaks a different amount which means golfers can now practice breaking putts indoors.

The potential for a putting training aid like the Breaking Ball Putting Mat is endless, as breaking putts and understanding them is something that even the best golfers struggle with at times. To be able to practice those in any way, and in a much more affordable manner, is exciting to say the least.
Ball Striker, Stroke Trainer, and Target Towels
While the putting mat is exciting, what Me and My Golf have done with making golf towels viable and borderline elite training aids is mind bending. The duo is releasing three different towels, each of which is useable as a high-quality waffle-weave golf towel, as well as having a specific training purpose.
The Ball Striker Towel has a cutout through the middle of it which serves the purpose of allowing the golfer to put it down at the range and hit golf balls in the opening. The towel has two different sides with different markings on it and can also be folded in half to do various impact work. The goal here is path, angle of attack, and alignment work in a simple and easy to use design that is certainly outside the box thinking, and potentially brilliant.

In the same vein is the Stroke Trainer Towel, although here there is no cutout. Instead, this solid towel is a two-sided design, one is a full-sized cup with target area to use on the practice green or at home, and the other is a putting stroke path aid for both straight and arc golfers. For those curious, there are gromets in the towel which will allow for tees to be placed to keep it stationary as well as taut.

Finally, the Target Towel is a round towel with multiple purposes. One, is simply laid out normally to provide a literal target with a hole in the middle for short game practice from putting to chipping and pitching. When you flip the towel over and fold it into half or quarters however, you unlock additional uses of monitoring and ingraining path and pace in the short game.

The Me and My Golf Way
All of these products will be available directly via Me and My Golf on their website here, with prices listed once they are released. However, as innovative yet simple as all of these are, they aren’t standalone training aids as each will be accompanied by golf lessons for each product with the simple scan of the QR code on the packaging. After all, what good would training aids be without the feedback and instruction to get the most out of them?
Training aids in golf are always an interesting segment, and the key is finding a niche that makes sense and is easy to use. Have Me and My Golf done that? I’m super confused (this shouldn’t be a surprise) but it’s the golf ball that breaks? How does that work? I’m sure I just don’t get it.
This looks awesome because it’s not just a straight putt all of the time and I like the real world application of some of the training aids on surface is also very cool.
Ummmm… those towels are genius. How has no one thought of something like that before?!?!?!?
The different balls is intriguing, are they just built to wobble essentially? That’s the only way I can mentally picture them breaking like that.
The towel is a great one for people. Talk about low point control and knowing if you hit it a smidge heavy
Really interesting stuff. Not sure if I’d be interested in the towels to be honest, but I am in the market for an indoor putting mat. A way to come up with breaking putts is genius. Doing it via the golf balls is really unique. My only concern would be, will the amount it breaks change depending on how you line up/place the ball on the mat? Basically, if it’s a toss up to how the ball will break based on how you place it, is there a benefit?
The towels stand out for me. Just so simple, but why hasn’t anyone else done it?
The ball striker towel especially. I really struggle with getting to wide in my stance, and this would really be of benefit for setup. Add in super lightweight, easy to transport…..
Count me a fan of these!
So simple yet so brilliant. The putting mat and towel are definitely intriguing.
Some interesting ideas here. I have watched a bunch of their stuff. Always wondered why they were so matchy matchy..
The towels seem brilliant to me.
Curious about the mat and wobble balls.
the putting mat is surely interesting. I like how they come with the 3 balls that have different breaks.
I could see myself using the ball striker as well. Would be fun to practice with that guy.
That target towel brings me back to HS golf days when my coach would make a 3-4′ circle around holes and make us hit balls inside of that space. But I also love the versatility that comes with this one.

Yes, the golf ball is weighted to break, each one in different increments.

This was 1,000,000% my first reaction.
Wow! Those towels are awesome. Way better than when I just throw mine behind the ball. Love the hole towel are a visual target for chipping as well. Love simple but effective ans it seems this covers it so well.
I’m not sure I’ve ever been excited for a training aid before.
I thought this thread was going to be about you and your training aids.

The towel with the hole in the middle – brilliant. Yes absolutely.
the striking towel definitely seems like a good idea.
the putting mat is a no go if i have to line up a ball every time.
The towels are amazing ideas. The ball striker really caught my eye.

2 for 1 deals on matching joggers. Savings galore.
I’ve seen some of their stuff as well, I’m always impressed by how good they do hands on with students – I’m sure if they were giving an in person lesson it would be just a master class of great pointers and reasons why.

That’s very interesting – my eyes went right to that because of my current putting struggle from last night. Thank you and great write up by the way – always appreciate your sharing.
It’s easy to just dismiss but there are some really intriguing things there. Count me in the camp of how have these not been a thing yet.
I’ll add my voice to the chorus on the brilliance of the towels. Easily portable, multiple uses for each… that’s some genius thought & engineering right there.

Having to have it perfect was my immediate concern. It looks like you line up the line on the ball with target marks on the mat. You still have to have the ball lined up properly for it to roll as intended I imagine, but it’s pretty cool.
Pondering…

I would almost kill to have target towels for all of my HS kids.

I played in a scramble tournament for our HS team a few weeks ago and the team we put together were all guys that were on my team when I was a senior. First time we’ve all played together since those days some 20 years ago. Throughout the round, we chatted about our old coach and things he used to make us to and those short game days were a big topic because they were fun and frustrating. He would lay out those circles using pennies and then would make us hit shots with our SW, GW, PW, 9, 8, and then would give us a 4 or 5.
Amazing that something like this hasn’t come out yet! Always enjoyed there content. I believe they are still coaching Aaron Rai.
Well hot dang those are all very cool. The towels are briliant. Really curious on the balls for the putting mat. That sounds super interesting but also weird and confusing to my brain.
That chipping target towel and the club path towel look very intriguing. Awesome way to take a training aid out to the range or practice facility.

Yup, and leave it on your bag since it’s still an actual towel.
I can see the ball striking and target towel becoming part of my assortment of training product. Im also interested in the balls. Curious if they will be selling them separate.

I could see that putting one getting thrown in the mix for me as well, I struggle with alignment on the green (keeping a square putting stroke) and not cutting across the ball. The QR scan code lesson is a nice touch too, I love that the access to instruction has gotten so much easier for people.

I think you’d want the mat because it has target lines for each ball. I guess unless you figured out markings for your mat or just went at with none?

Will have to do some research into the product. I can see the benefit to practicing breaking putts. I can roll straight putt after straight putt on my putt out mat. I like the idea of putt moving. I would also use them in my sim area. I have multiple cup placements in it. Being able to aim a foot right on a 12 footer should be advantageous.

At the moment they don’t list the golf balls as being able to purchase separately. Hopefully they change that because I’d imagine people are going to lose some, especially with kids and maybe even pets.
Okay, that was an hour down the rabbit hole on chipping and pitching.

Well, yes lol. If there was some witchcraft at play where the ball would roll with the same break no matter how you place it that would be pretty sweet 🙂
The towels look genius. I am not sure about the breaking balls for putting.

That and that they are multifunctional. The target can then help learning fades and draws. Insanity.
When I say training aid I wanted to skip opening this thread. Boy am I excited I didn’t. These training aids have peaked my interest and especially the towel with the cut out. I have been focusing on path of club and divot over the last several months. I may need to take the plunge and if they don’t work out I will just send them to @jdax as he is always looking for more training aids.
Great write up James!

Haha yea the towels are just really good…I’m with everyone else, I’m dumbfounded how no ones thought of it before.
Yeesh, went to pre-order the Target towel and with taxes and shipping it is $50. Will wait to see if these are in golf shops.
Preordered ball strike and target towel. Free scorecard holder with each preorder. Free shipping total Less than 80.00.
As a Brit the breaking balls seem fairly obvious. They are like bowls which is a sport over here where they roll small balls which are weighted on one side and try and get close to a smaller “jack”.

I’d assume as long as you set them down with the line on top (so the weighted side is perpendicular to the floor) they’ll break the same amount no matter which direction you hit them.

My stance is really wide too, but it helps me to keep my arms straight. Don’t ask me why, I can’t explain it ?
Should have these in hand soon, they just arrived at THP HQ and are headed to the Oklahoma outpost. Excited to work with them, for me, AND for my kids
