We all knew it was just a matter of time, but finally after 2024 saw the return of the Diamana White Board (WB) and Blue Board (BB) to celebrate twenty years for the lineup for Mitsubishi Chemical, the company is kicking off 2025 in style with reemergence of the Red Board (RB). Built around the same foundational principles of pure feel and premium performance, the RB is the missing piece to the puzzle, completing the Diamana matrix, and THP has all of the info you need.
2025 Mitsubishi Diamana RB

When it comes to the Red Board, this iteration might be a bit later to the party than its siblings through this staggered launch but rest easy in the understanding that it is missing none of the technology. In all honesty, the RB dropping now makes sense, as when most golfers think Diamana, it is the WB and BB which pops into their minds. The RB though holds a critical place in the fitting matrix for Diamana, and with the new materials and technical applications into the designs, it might just fit a broader group than you expect.
Mitsubishi Diamana RB – Design
The Red Board was designed to create an easier launch of the ball off the tee while not sacrificing downrange dispersion, all the while also capturing that legendary smoothness that Diamana is known for. What may shock some is the fact that it actually hasn’t been available since the second generation of the line.
Officially, the RB is being classified as a Mid/Mid-High launching and Mid spin shaft which is utilizing Mitsubishi’s “Consistent Feel Design” to help simplify the fitting of the entire Diamana lineup, with part of that being the return to the classic weight designations. Internally, they have applied the Xlink Tech Resin System to allow more carbon fiber and less resin. Like its siblings, the RB also uses 80-ton DIALEAD pitch fiber in the handle and aerospace MR70 though the full-length of the shaft. Finally, there is a new orientation of material in the tip section which brings down the torque while not sacrificing launch.

Based on the internal testing by Mitsubishi Chemical the new Red Board averages over 2-degrees of added launch and around 200 more RPM of spin than the Blue Board design. The key though is that thanks to being able to bring the torque down compared to other “high-launch” shafts in the segment, they have added better downrange dispersion. The results of the design have been impressive enough that the RB is already in play on Tours worldwide.

The Details
While today marks the official unveiling of the new Diamana RB from Mitsubishi Chemical, the shaft won’t hit retail until 2/7/25. The MSRP on the Red Board will be $400.00 and will be available at fitters and distributors worldwide.
Thank you for the write up @jman
Finally rounding out the family. Diamana was my go-to shaft for a long time. They are as “plug and play” as you can get for my swing & they worked no matter the club head. I’m looking forward to the feedback from those who put them in play.
I’m going to have to try to find one of these to hit soon.
I have a feeling these are going to be very popular for THPers.
Well hello there beautiful! I feel like this is going to fit and help a whooooole lot of people. I’d love to try this in a fairway and heck even plug into driver. Maybe not most ideal fit on paper for a driver but I’d argue I’d love the feel of it
And with the tech thrown into this shaft it’s gonna still be super tight down range but with unbeatable feel
I really want to try this shaft in a fairway. These look like exactly what I want. Like the idea of getting more launch, but most red profiles feel too loose.
Looks like a nice addition to the family.
High and smooth?

Could be an absolute beast in a FW.
Very interesting, great write up @Jman.
Typically when I think ‘red’ shafts, I think stiffer in the hands, soft tip, but this seems softer than BB and WB in the butt. Excited to test this at some point.
But the torque dropping here could make this really popular
Yea, I think this is one I could really along with. Lovely design too.
Im interested. Sounds like a profile I could get along with.
Yes. YES. Will need to try. Also, no RB version available since the second generation is a fantastic nugget of info. Great job as always @Jman
This sounds fun. Curious to see a more info on where this falls within the red profiles.
Sounds a great 3W shaft.

Don’t underestimate it as a driver shaft

I like that rather than making a typical “red” profile, it instead stays true to Diamana and plays with/off of the WB and BB.
People also forget, Diamana did the color code system before others
@Jman do you think this is going to be as much of a lunch monster as Tensei 1K Red?
I would like to try this but it may not be the profile I’m looking for in driver, potentially fairway ?
Going to Red profiles has been a huge help for me in the driver game. The RB looks awesome and I’d love to try this in the 45g weight. Thank you for the write up @Jman
There’s a certain other red shaft that gets a lot of tour play…really excited to see this one develop on tour as well
Can’t wait to swing it

I thought about you when writing this one, hahaha
And it totally looks badass with the matte, the red, and that awesome flowerband.
This one intrigues me. Like the launch and spin characteristics. Then mix in lower torque. Lots to like here

Not sure, the increase from BB in their testing talked about in the article would indicate maybe. But, its all about the user, for some, the Tensei Red isn’t a launch monster.

That part honestly surprised me a little, the years are all running together for me, or I’m just getting old. Hahaha
Great article as usual @Jman. With how well the WB and BB have done, I think people are going to absolutely love the RB

See what I was saying now? Hahahaha
I’m so excited to hear more about these from the folks at Mitsubishi! Diamana experience already getting another option!
I’m actually intrigued by this one. Who doesn’t like a little added launch
This is very interesting, from the write up I could see this helping me.

This launch profile with the feel of Diamana, which IMO is among the best ever, is going to be fun for a lot of people
Oooooo
Thus looks like a shaft I should try!
Interesting.. the white board was impressive. Will have to looks for this to at least try.. I could use some launch. Lol
Still to this day the blue board is in my favorite 3w I’ve ever had in the bag, it has made its way to my sons golf bag now and I haven’t hit either of the new WB or BB for some reason. That being said I’m starting to feel like I’m missing out. Even if this RB doesn’t work in driver it could be really useful in a fwy

Feel like this new RB might surprise people trying it out
Looky looky
