Things I Iove….
-Taking artwork & naming rights of people who submit artwork
-Not releasing new lines if no REAL improvements are implemented
-Same flex profiles for diff weights
-A thorough answer about OEM “made for” shafts
-B Asha shafts on the Tour Van
(not a fan of the specific Cleveland design when it includes the B Asha in their 2013 line, and having to upgrade to get the original B Ashas)
One of the better radio chats with an OEM, it sounded like a chat between 2 friends rather than an interview. Great job JB & Tim
Thanks to Tim with Miyazaki shafts for being on the show!
Disney animator was the motivation for the new shaft line name….very interesting. So, this will eventually replace the C. Kua series for the drivers- you can definitely tell that Miyazaki has done their homework with this new line.
Not surprised that they are going even lighter, that is definitely the trend these days and it sounds like the early tour results are quite impressive.
Lots of very good discussion about the flex and performance differentials between the various weights.
Enjoyed the discussion about the “made for” shafts, very good info.
Crazy impressive that other than the guys on tour, the THP van will be the first to have this shaft in hand – THP’ers that make it to a tour van stop are in for a treat!!
This was a great listen and education on how shafts are produced, as well as how OEM’s pick shafts for mass production.
Big thanks to Mr. Gillis for joining THP Radio. PErhaps one of the most informative shows to date. To say I’m excited about trying this shaft is a massive understatement. Looking forward to seeing one in Charlotte.
Listening right now. I love this!
Excellent show! What an education that was on Shafts. Pretty awesome that these will be in the hands of THPers at the Tour Van Events as some of the first “consumer” testing.
Really enjoyed listening on how Miyazaki works with their flex codes to achieve them throughout their weights vs “Brand X”, that tells me a lot about shafts out on the market now and why some are better fits than others in terms of weights.
Wow! What a great show. There is so much to take in that I am going to listen to it again later on today. I really thought it was interesting about the International Flex code and how they use it. I wish other shaft companies would jump on board with this. I can’t wait to try this out at the NC Tour Van stop. Thanks JB and Miyazaki for such a great show.
Thanks for taking the time to record this. Very informative show.
Great show. So cool that we are the first consumers to get a stab at the B. Asha line. Learned a ton about shafts in general and how great of company for the consumer Miyazaki is.
loving the info on the new Miyazaki offering…
i’ve got 4 Miyazaki shafts in the bag, and i love them all!
This was so interesting. The flex profile discussion and fitting compared to other brands was very informative. I need to get properly fit for the right Miyazaki shaft for me at the outing for sure. I don’t like the idea of Cleveland going the “made for” route at least in the design and then going away from Miyazaki for some of the stock shafts.
Awesome show! Thoroughly enjoyed it! Makes me want to find MY Miyazaki flex code and pop it in the razr fit!
Very informative show Thanks for taking the time to put this together.
So clevelands get made for B.Ahas. THat sucks.
Awesome show, thanks to Tim for coming on. Very informative about the new series and shafts in general!
Fantastic.
I love that the dude that supplied the art is a Disney animator, that’s just freaking cool.
The matte/rough finish seems to be something more and more are going to as for the “drag” reduction effect. I find that really intriguing myself.
I also really respect that they don’t just push stuff out to push stuff out, that is HUGE to me in today’s golf market with so many focuses on new more than better. I like that if they can’t legitimately improve it, they won’t change it just for changing sake.
FULL of so much great shaft/flex info, seriously, BRAVO on this one for sure. Wow. The torque conversation was really nice as well, its very cool to hear SO much knowledge/insight at one time.
This one was a homerun. I freaking love stuff like this, just soaking up the knowledge!
Really impressive to listen to him explain the variables between the numbers… I wish I could get on a monitor with all the different ones just to see the variable. It seems so cool!
Thanks for doing this THP and Miyazaki! Awesome.
What a plethora of information! Looking even more to experiencing this in the real world outing experience. Just thought I knew a little bit about this subject, after listening to this, not so much. What really impressed me is their level of R&D and not just to push out something new. Looking forward to moving in this direction. Thanks for the show!
Just got to having some time to listen to this. That was pretty awesome. So much great information and great questions asked. Thanks THP and Miyazaki!
Good show ! Very interesting and extremely informative. I found the part about ‘made for’ enlightening, certainly I’m a better informed consumer after this show. HUMMMM THP Tour Van in Greenville NC heh ….. I might be able to do that !! Only a couple hours from here .
Great show, thanks to Tim Gillis for being part of the show….This shaft is going to be the real deal.
Can’t believe the are even looking at finish types to reduce drag and increase club head speed
Just listened to this again and love how informative it is. I didn’t know much about Miyazaki shafts before I listened to this other than a suggestion I got on the forum before. But after listening to this again I feel more educated about the shaft. I wasn’t sure about which # would be best for me before and I think the 5 would be best for me. I think it would be a great combo with my Fit TA to get the flight I am looking for. Thanks THP and Miyazaki for being so informative for a shat dummy like me.
Not sure how I missed this when it was first posted, great interview, great info. Loved the “made for” discussion.
