Mizuno has long been known for their irons, but the last two iterations of metal woods have been very well received in THP Reviews by the writing staff here. As previously mentioned on THP Radio the new JPX-900 metal woods are coming soon and today they were made official.
“We want to not only be taken seriously, but to be respected in the wood category,” said Ryan Ellis, Associate Brand Manager – Golf. “We realized to do this that we had to change people’s perceptions of our performance, and it started with changing our approach to the design process. Our biggest problem was we were operating within our known possibilities. When we began designing the JPX900 woods we went to the table without any restraints in mind, especially cost, and looked at what mattered the most – performance. This pushed us beyond our known possibilities, creating an explosion of ideas, knowledge and technologies that have birthed a new beginning in the wood category for us. This not only changes the game for us now, but for the future as well. With the JPX900 woods, believe me when I say, we are just getting started.”

Really like the looks, but sounds confusing. Will this site have a full review when they are ready?
Chris Angel Fan,
THP should have a full review soon as we have each of the previous Mizuno lines.
Love the colors and really liked what you guys said about the last model. Interested to hear more about the 900 because I am due for a new driver.
I’m a big fan of Mizuno’s stuff. These look great.
I hit JPX 900 driver with a launch monitor at Golftec a week or so ago. The results were beyond my imagination. I have been testing drivers with a variety of shafts for a few weeks but never considered Mizuno. The Mizuno rep showed up while I was at a lesson at Golftec. I was ask to try his sample. The rep made the recommended adjustments based on my swing.
Absolutely no exaggeration in these numbers one ounce. I am a very healthy 64 year old male who can still generate high 90’s of club head speed. Of all the premium clubs and shafts I had tested, all I could produce were high 230’s on carry and total distances mid to low 250’s.
I hit 12 balls with the Mizuno JPX 900 driver. My average carry was 248 the average distance were 277.
The feel and control were incredible. I ordered the club almost immediately although I will not see it for another week to 10 days.
Mizuno is on to something. I can’t wait to get it on my coarse.
