Srixon has officially provided the first look at its next generation of drivers.
Beginning next week at the Travelers Championship, Team Srixon staffers will test the new ZXi RKT lineup in competition. Beyond a handful of images, however, the company isn’t providing any additional information. There are no specifications, no technology breakdowns and no launch details.
For the Lunatic Fringe, that’s more than enough to start a conversation.
While Srixon hasn’t confirmed much, the images reveal several clues about what could be coming when the ZXi RKT family officially launches. Some are obvious. Others require a little more speculation. Taken together, they paint a picture of a company that may be moving to new places in metalwoods.
It Starts with a Name – Srixon ZXi RKT
The most obvious clue is the name itself. Srixon has not explained what RKT stands for, but it’s difficult to imagine most golfers arriving anywhere other than “Rocket.” Whether that’s the intended meaning or not, the message seems obvious.

That would be an interesting shift for Srixon. Over the last several generations, the company’s drivers have built a following among golfers who value feel, consistency and surprisingly strong all-around performance. What they haven’t typically been known for is leading conversations about outright speed.
If RKT is intended to signal a new direction, speed feels like the most logical interpretation.
A Completely Different Sole Design
Perhaps the biggest visual departure from the current ZXi family is the sole itself.
The prominent front-to-back keel that has become a defining characteristic of recent Srixon drivers appears to be gone. In its place is a cleaner, more streamlined design that looks noticeably different from the current generation.
The existing ZXi drivers are excellent performers, but the sole design has always been dominated by that large central structure. The RKT appears to move in another direction entirely. The sole flows more naturally from front to back, while the visible technology elements feel integrated into the design rather than built around a single feature.
The result is a driver that simply looks faster. Whether that translates into measurable gains remains to be seen, but visually the head presents a very different approach than the current lineup.
Carbon Construction?
Another clue comes from the outer sections of the sole.
Srixon hasn’t confirmed materials, but the textured portions strongly resemble carbon fiber or a similar composite construction. If that’s what we’re looking at, it would align with one of the biggest trends in modern driver development.

Carbon allows engineers to save weight and redistribute it elsewhere throughout the head. Those weight savings can then be used to improve forgiveness, optimize launch conditions, increase stability, or boost ball speed.
If speed truly is a primary focus of the RKT family, carbon construction would be one logical way to help achieve it.
Srixon ZXi RKT – The Weighting Story
The weighting systems appear to vary significantly throughout the lineup.
The ZXi RKT LS features both front and rear weight ports, a setup commonly used to give players greater control over spin and center-of-gravity placement. The LS model also appears noticeably more compact than the other heads shown in the images. While perspective can be deceiving, the shape looks shorter from front to back and more player-oriented overall.

If that impression proves accurate, it would place the LS directly into the category of compact low-spin drivers that have become increasingly popular among better golfers.
The MAX model takes a different approach. Here, the visible weighting appears concentrated entirely in the rear section of the head, and the head seems more stretched out, a layout typically associated with maximum stability and forgiveness.

The standard ZXi RKT is perhaps the most intriguing of the three. The available images clearly show heel and toe weight ports, though the rear section is difficult to see. Whether additional weighting exists farther back or whether Srixon has taken another approach entirely remains unclear. The shaping seems more traditional than the core ZXi model, and to our eyes it looks much more streamlined. Are we seeing some aerodynamic advancement here?

Acousticore Raises Another Question
One detail that immediately caught our attention is the word ”Acousticore“ visible on the sole.
At this point, we have no information about what Acousticore actually is. However, the name itself suggests that acoustics and sound are playing a larger role in the development of the new driver family. That’s noteworthy because sound has long been one of the more polarizing aspects of Srixon drivers.
Historically, Srixon drivers have maintained a more traditional acoustic profile than many of their competitors. While much of the industry has moved toward increasingly muted and subdued impact sounds through the use of carbon construction and internal structures, Srixon drivers have often delivered a louder and more metallic sound that many golfers associate with older-school driver design.
Some golfers love that, but the general trend in the industry has changed.
The appearance of Acousticore suggests Srixon may be paying particular attention to that feedback. Whether it involves internal structures, new materials, or some entirely different approach remains to be seen, but it is the only named technology visible anywhere on the club.
Is Aerodynamics Part of the Story?
The final clue may be the overall shaping itself.
The entire lineup appears more sculpted than previous generations. The transitions between surfaces are smoother, the rear sections appear cleaner and the sole geometry feels more refined than what we’ve seen from recent Srixon drivers.

Modern driver speed comes from a handful of areas: face technology, weight distribution and aerodynamics. We have no information about the face, but several aspects of the visible design suggest aerodynamic efficiency could be playing a larger role this time around.
Whether that proves true is impossible to know from photographs alone, but it would fit neatly alongside the RKT naming and the apparent focus on speed.
Srixon ZXi RKT – TOUR Test Begins
Perhaps the most important clue isn’t visible in the photos at all. These drivers are heading directly to the PGA TOUR.
The Travelers Championship will provide the first opportunity for Team Srixon players to test the new heads in competition and that process may ultimately tell us more than any marketing campaign. Driver changes are notoriously difficult at that level. Players are reluctant to change something that already performs well, particularly when their livelihood depends on it.
Will we see Srixon staffers begin putting the ZXi RKT drivers into play?
For now, all we have are images and questions. Fortunately, they are the kind of questions equipment enthusiasts enjoy discussing. Between the RKT name, the revised sole design, the apparent carbon construction, the new weighting systems and the mystery surrounding Acousticore, Srixon has given golfers plenty to analyze while we wait for the full story.
What stands out most to you from the first images of the Srixon ZXi RKT drivers?

I kinda love the loud sound. I played the Callaway FTiQ years and years ago, and nothing will ever compete with that sound.

The only thing that I found with the ZXI was the face seemed a bit shallow and it was easy to miss high or low on the face. Hopefully they’ve fixed this.

Hoped so!
I’ve got the ZXI Max and really like it but boy is it a loud driver.

On the screws and it’s loud and pretty unique.

Looks like they’re using the same adapter as the current ZXi so I can keep my PC Blue.
Man I wanna see these in person! Local rep talking about how good this launch is going to be has me excited!

I LOVE a matte crown!
Hello THPers. Any news on that high pitch noise. I cant call it sound as its a noise ringing in your ears. Such a shame as it was one of the best drivers I had tried…

Love the matte, and it looks faaaaast!
Really looking forward to hearing more, and seeing more once they release. It won’t be at release, but excited to see them in person as our one range will definitely have demos for us to play with!
I really hope this release brings Srixon woods to the big boys table. I think they have a nice offering, but you just never see them in person.
Im going to actively seek them out when released and hope some stores have lefty demo or fitting heads.

Yeah these look great
Those are not bad looking at all. I find the acousticore alone enough to give them a swing, but the entire package makes them look interesting enough to hit.
I do wish someone could made a modern driver hitting a wound ball with the CRACK!!! of a good persimmon. God I miss that sound. It doesn’t even sound the same when I smack a modern ball with an old persimmon…
Gee maybe it the 20 mph lower club head speed. LOL

They have been close the last two releases. If they can find a balance between speed and spin it will be ready to make people pay attention
