Wilson has been at the forefront of low compression golf ball design for years, today launches the new DUO Soft line of golf balls. One of the original low compression golf balls that started a trend still going on throughout the industry is completely redesigned for 2018.
“The industry’s lowest 29-compression golf balls are not only the softest, longest and straightest, but now even longer and more durable,” comments Frank Simonutti, Global Director of Golf Ball Innovation. “With a 3% larger core for increased ball velocity and a softer, thinner sodium/zinc ionomer cover for optimal distance and durability, this newly formulated 2-piece golf ball provides low driver spin, exceptional yardage and unparalleled soft feel to the Distance (D) player.”
“Additionally, the optimized dimple pattern has reduced dimple depth by 5.7%, resulting in higher trajectory and longer distance performance. These enhancements give DUO Soft the (1) best feel, (2) longest distance, and (3) the lowest spin leading to straightest flight off the tee in testing against all competitive premium 2-piece balls.”
Hitting stores on November 17th, the new line willl be bold and even harder to ignore thanks to the introduction of a number of new matte finishes. Above you can see each in the lineup and THP Golf Forum Members were some of the first to put these in play at the recent THP Staff Proto event and came away impressed. The finish was easy to track, stood out on the course and got positive feedback across the board from those that tested it.

It is refreshing to see the W/S Shield logo return to their most popular products. I am also excited to see the available color options beyond the standard white and yellow. Optix pink may just be my new winter ball.
I played the Duo Soft the majority of this season and really like it. Love putting with it. Could be my favorite ball ever.
Didn’t score as good as I would have liked but I think that comes down to not playing as much as I wanted to in 2017.
Look forward to trying this new version out!
Solid price point for a golf ball that isnloved by those who play them. Introducing the new colors seems great for the fall season and overall ability to track and find.
I’m calling it right now – this is my 2018 ball. The DUO has always been one of my favorite balls and it sounds like it just got even better.
Like the red and also the addition of the Wilson Staff logo. Price point is definitely very reasonable for these.
Fantastic price point and loving the color options. Gonna have to pickup a dozen of the optic green.
These balls are the real deal!
An improvement over the previous versions of the Duo.
The Optix colors are very bright, yet Matte in finish.
The feel of the Optix line is just as good as the White balls.
Been playing these for a week, and foresee myself playing them for quite some time!
Wow, these are quite “Vivid”! Can’t wait to see them in stores and put them in play.
Love them! Really starting to see more and more people move to these brighter colors and it’s nice to see Wilson jump into that market.
May have to grab some of these for some clod winter golf!
The Duo has been my winter ball of choice for a number of years. I’m looking forward to putting the new Duo Soft in play when they hit the stores next month.
W/S nailed it. I wanted a 2 piece matte ball at $20 a dozen that was also softer in feel. Sign me up. That’s my new ball.
Sorry Supersoft/E6/Soft Feel…. We’ve had a good run.
I love the optix green. I’ve played Duo in the past and have liked them. Although I need more golf balls like I need another driver, I’ll probably still grab a dozen of the green and give them a whirl!
Really like the colors! The tech that most interests me is the new dimple pattern that helps trajectory. I will definitely be buying some to try.
