Nike Golf Introduces the New VR Pro Hybrid, Delivering More Speed with a Hotter Face
BEAVERTON, Ore. (January 11, 2011)– Nike Golf is bringing to the marketplace a new hybrid that has been developed as a result of the demands of Nike Golf Tour athletes. The game’s best players ask a lot of their hybrids and Nike Golf has provided answers with the new VR Pro Hybrid. PGA Tour athletes Anthony Kim, Francesco Molinari and Carl Pettersson all put the VR Pro Hybrid into play last week at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions.
Consistent with all products in the VR line, the VR Pro Hybrids convey beauty, refinement and premium sophistication. The talented engineers at the Nike Golf R&D facility, The Oven, have worked with Nike Golf Tour athletes to deliver more speed on the clubface for longer, penetrating shots. The full Compression Channel technology along with variable face thickness creates a face 21% hotter than Nike’s previous VR Hybrid which increases speed for greater distance and control.
The VR Pro Hybrid is designed with a sole that produces cleaner hits from any turf condition. The Sole Camber on the VR Pro Hybrid is flatter on lower lofts for tighter lies and deeper on higher lofts for more shot options. The flatter sole of the VR Pro Hybrid keeps more of the club on the ground, maintaining a seamless transition from hybrids to irons. The new VR Pro Hybrids closely match the profiles of the VR Pro Irons for a consistent look at address.
To meet the demands of Nike Golf Tour athletes, the VR Pro Hybrids were designed with less draw bias. The longer club head eliminates the hybrid’s tendency toward more draw by moving the center of gravity away from the hosel. Moving the CG slightly forward and lower optimizes ball flight to create a penetrating ball flight that can be used in all conditions.

looks good! i think it’s awesome that it comes equiped with the PX shaft.
Nice looking club!
I love that they offer it with a PX shaft, right away that grabs my attention. I think it looks good, can’t wait to see some in house pictures
Looks awesome, another one to try this golf season.
Very nice. Looking forward to giving it a swing!
Definitely a sweet looking club and with such a great shaft this thing is for sure going to be a big time player in the 2011 hybrid market. Kinda pricey though isn’t it? I mean compared to some other hybrids with awesome shafts.
I really liked the 2010 model so I’m looking forward to giving this a swing as well
Looks like a real niceclub! The shaft is a good offering too.
Puttin4bird,
The price listed is MSRP. It will not be priced that high to consumers in most stores.
You can also have the lie adjusted on this hybrid!!
Wonder how it would stack up against the Mashie?
