Odyssey’s Damascus Milled lineup has grown steadily since its debut earlier this year. What began with two versions of the iconic Seven expanded into traditional blades and compact mallets, giving golfers a wider range of shapes built around the same premium materials and distinctive insert.
Now, Odyssey is giving left-handed golfers a chance to join in.
The latest limited release brings three Damascus Milled models to the left-handed market: the Seven DB, Jailbird and Two. All three will arrive at retail on August 13, which also happens to be National Left-Handers Day.
The Damascus Milled Story
Damascus Milled sits at the top of Odyssey’s putter lineup. Rather than relying on the softer synthetic inserts found in many of the company’s mainstream models, these putters use an insert made from multiple steel alloys.
The material is forged, folded and pressed, creating the flowing pattern seen across the face. Since that pattern is determined during the manufacturing process, each insert has a slightly different appearance. A specialized heat treatment is then used to tune its firmer, more responsive impact feel.
Odyssey also uses AI-designed contours on the back of the insert to promote more consistent ball speed across the face. That helps keep the Damascus line from becoming a release built purely around appearance. The material and construction are certainly part of the appeal, but Odyssey’s recent focus on off-center performance remains part of the design.
The insert is paired with a stainless-steel head that’s fully precision milled rather than cast. A blasted silver finish keeps the appearance clean and allows the Damascus pattern to remain the focal point.
Three Left-Handed Shapes
Seven DB
The Seven DB brings Odyssey’s familiar fang design to left-handed golfers. Its double-bend shaft creates a face-balanced configuration intended for players with less arc and face rotation in the putting stroke.
Jailbird Mini
Jailbird mini offers the longer alignment features and added stability that have made the shape one of Odyssey’s most recognizable modern designs.
Two
The Two provides a much more traditional option. Its classic blade profile and crank hosel should appeal to golfers who prefer full shaft offset and moderate toe hang.
The right-handed version was one of the most interesting additions in the second Damascus release, especially as traditional blades have become less prominent in Odyssey’s standard retail lines.
Shaft and Grip
Each model also comes with Odyssey’s SL90 steel shaft, which includes 20 grams of counterbalancing in the butt section. The new Rubber Tour Pistol grip was developed alongside Golf Pride using tour player feedback, with defined edges and familiar pistol shaping.
Our Take
Premium and limited-edition equipment doesn’t always make its way to left-handed golfers, so this is a welcome expansion from Odyssey.
The selection is also smart. Seven and Jailbird cover two of the company’s most popular mallet shapes, while the Two gives traditionalists a fully milled blade option. Odyssey hasn’t simply added one token left-handed model, but instead has provided three distinctly different choices.
