If you have been paying attention to the PGA Tour the past few weeks, then you know about the worst kept secret in putters. In the bag of Jon Rahm as well as being the number one model on Tour the past couple of weeks, the 2-Ball Ten is very real, and it’s actually part of a new Odyssey Ten lineup.

The company is running with the tagline “Shape Matters”, and they could not have nailed it more concisely or accurately if they wanted to.
When Powers Combine
First off, like it or not, the Odyssey 2-Ball is on the Mount Rushmore of putter shapes. This is a design that was the first true outside the box mallet that proved mallets could be beneficial to even the best players on the planet. From there, the floodgates opened, and it finally became OK to push the limits of putters. But how do you take that to the next level?

Well, you have it procreate with another legendary shape of course.
Enter the Odyssey Ten, which yes, is very similar in appearance to another Mount Rushmore putter shape. That said, Odyssey has perhaps perfected it, and since its addition to their arsenal, it has been a hit both in sales and on Tour. Someone who is way smarter than the rest of us at Odyssey had the thought of combining the Ten shape with the 2-Ball, and here we are.

However, it’s much more than that, in fact, the 2-Ball is but a piece of the new line of putters from Odyssey.
Odyssey Ten Lineup
What has happened here in terms of shape is a cleaner overall look, which Odyssey says has been done by things like closing the “windows” which were on the original Ten in order to make for a cleaner visual at address. The blending of the two putter shapes into one makes for what the company believes to be their most complete and effective 2-Ball variety ever.

However, it’s not just a looks thing. The melding of the designs has translated to quantifiable performance benefits as well. In fact, the new Ten putters have 32% higher MOI compared to the original 2-Ball as well as 20% less twisting at impact, 33% more speed consistency, and 44% more topspin consistency. What does it mean? When you miss center, it will be incredibly stable, predictable, and consistent.

A major reason for those last two stats was the decision to go with the Microhinge Star insert rather than the newly revived White Hot. According to Odyssey, the reason is simple, this putter line is about producing the best possible roll. The MH Star is the best pure performance insert that Odyssey has ever made, and it may not be the OG White Hot, but it is also immensely popular on Tour with its notable firmness.

As for the options, obviously there is a Ten 2-Ball which will feature the iconic circles and be available in plain, Triple Track, and also with the much asked about single Tour Line. Understanding that the circles aren’t for everyone that might benefit from the putter shape itself, they are also releasing a Ten Triple Track, and a Tenwhich has the single long alignment line.
The Details
The new Odyssey Ten line of putters will each feature the same updated Stroke Lab shaft which first released in the White Hot OG putters, simply in charcoal instead of red. Additionally, every head style will be available in S-neck or Double Bend options with a blue and grey Odyssey pistol or oversized grip. The putters will all come in at $299.99 on their release.

oh I like that.
Looking forward to more
Wow…. now I know why this is a hit on the Tours.
This alignment just fits my eye. I got mine without any lines and allows me to see the line without trying to aim my putt.
Filling in the wing areas also creates a much better visual from the top. I had been playing a TT Ten thinking I was going to align the ball with the putter but that doesn’t work for me. It doesn’t look right to me and gave it up quickly.
This just looks right to my eye. The feel is just as good as the original Ten.
2021 I wanted to work on my short game and this will help in that goal. Highly recommend this putter if you want a different alignment that fits some golfers eyes.

This will win. Mark it down. It’s just…better.
It’s going to shock some people

I think this is the best looking 2 ball version yet. I’ve never been a fan in the past but it just works with this head.
I like the shape of the Ten as a 2 ball a lot better than the old 2 ball shape. It works well together.
Noted, like you said it may not be much of a battle. Watched a utube video of Sean Toulon talking about these putters and can’t believe how popular these are. He did get me second guessing going with the short slant neck though
What did he say about the slant neck? I missed it.
This just arrived…can’t wait to get it out on the course in the next couple of days.
Feel and sound compared to the putters you have used.

Nope! Welcome to THP ?
well crap. Do we wait now? We need a poll on who likes the star over the WH insert and the differences. The sounds of the MicroHinge Star face on some/most YT videos sound so hard to me. Plastic sounding. But I have never tried the MH Star but I have the WH. I was never thrilled on the Red SL shaft.
In the video they said they went with the Star because it’s the best performing insert for that head shape. They also said they greatly underestimated the demand there would be for the WH in the Ten which is why they are working on doing it properly.
"well crap" was my immediate reaction as well after reading much’s post. Hmm. I honestly don’t know if I would like the WH insert better or not but would get a kick out of a red shaft.
The whole thing is great but the last three minutes is them talking about the WH and the Ten
Haha, this is the one thing that I said would really bug me once I ordered. Luckily the one I ordered was quoted 8 weeks so I canceled and will wait until this is released with the white hot insert and the red stroke lab shaft is a bonus
He did say the June 1 date is the target but not set in stone. Hopefully you don’t have to wait too long!
Luckily I have a putter I am comfortable with so I have no problem waiting a little extra if needed. I could get one now and add this later but I will try hold off
The stroke lab shaft looks and feels great. The stock grip is just ok, similar to other Odyssey putters I’ve used, it’s not my favorite but probably won’t change it anytime soon.
Compared to the O-Works 7, to me the Ten feels firmer off the face and the ball was rolling quicker on my putting surface. I’m really digging this so far
I have fond memories of that face and am interested in the Ten. I look forward to trying out that combo
The man certainly knows his stuff. The S neck and a 10 minute putting lesson at the first Odyssey Experience proved to me it is exactly what I need. I even did a full bag Club Champion fitting about 8 months later as a birthday present and the SAM fitting proved it was exactly the right putter for me.
That being said, I’m hoping to find a 34" S Neck 2 Ball Ten to try in stores when they come out. Unfortunately they don’t make the lined S neck in LH for some reason so it I’ll have to see if the plain 2 ball can beat out by EXO.
The EXO should have higher MOI, but not by as much as you might think. Also, keep in mind the MOI is the resistance to twisting on misses, not truly what makes up the forgiveness aspect, pet of the equation (and an important one) but not the whole of it.
The Ten is absolutely better than the Spider imo. It’s a perfected shape.
It’s just deadly to line up. I’m not at all a 2-ball style putter guy but the comfort over it in this shape is just….different. I honestly don’t know why one would go with the non 2-ball options, or at least I feel like they’re going to miss out on something special if they do…but options are fun.
The MH Star is what we have come to expect. It’s firm, but it rolls as true as any insert ever made.
My only knock Is a personal one and it’s total weight of the putter. I prefer a little more heft overall, and of course with the SL the total is different than traditional. Easy to adjust though, and of course I can alter the weight down the line.
It’s a damn good putter, and legitimately one if I weren’t committed for the year I could game for the season. I’m very impressed.
Which grip do you have on it? Odyssey pistol or oversized?
Its the Pistol
Is there a weight kit for these?
I rolled the ten s with the single line today. Liked it. Still waiting on the two ball tour line I ordered.
