If you have been paying attention to the PGA Tour the past few weeks, then you know about the worst kept secret in putters. In the bag of Jon Rahm as well as being the number one model on Tour the past couple of weeks, the 2-Ball Ten is very real, and it’s actually part of a new Odyssey Ten lineup.
The company is running with the tagline “Shape Matters”, and they could not have nailed it more concisely or accurately if they wanted to.
When Powers Combine
First off, like it or not, the Odyssey 2-Ball is on the Mount Rushmore of putter shapes. This is a design that was the first true outside the box mallet that proved mallets could be beneficial to even the best players on the planet. From there, the floodgates opened, and it finally became OK to push the limits of putters. But how do you take that to the next level?
Well, you have it procreate with another legendary shape of course.
Enter the Odyssey Ten, which yes, is very similar in appearance to another Mount Rushmore putter shape. That said, Odyssey has perhaps perfected it, and since its addition to their arsenal, it has been a hit both in sales and on Tour. Someone who is way smarter than the rest of us at Odyssey had the thought of combining the Ten shape with the 2-Ball, and here we are.
However, it’s much more than that, in fact, the 2-Ball is but a piece of the new line of putters from Odyssey.
Odyssey Ten Lineup
What has happened here in terms of shape is a cleaner overall look, which Odyssey says has been done by things like closing the “windows” which were on the original Ten in order to make for a cleaner visual at address. The blending of the two putter shapes into one makes for what the company believes to be their most complete and effective 2-Ball variety ever.
However, it’s not just a looks thing. The melding of the designs has translated to quantifiable performance benefits as well. In fact, the new Ten putters have 32% higher MOI compared to the original 2-Ball as well as 20% less twisting at impact, 33% more speed consistency, and 44% more topspin consistency. What does it mean? When you miss center, it will be incredibly stable, predictable, and consistent.
A major reason for those last two stats was the decision to go with the Microhinge Star insert rather than the newly revived White Hot. According to Odyssey, the reason is simple, this putter line is about producing the best possible roll. The MH Star is the best pure performance insert that Odyssey has ever made, and it may not be the OG White Hot, but it is also immensely popular on Tour with its notable firmness.
As for the options, obviously there is a Ten 2-Ball which will feature the iconic circles and be available in plain, Triple Track, and also with the much asked about single Tour Line. Understanding that the circles aren’t for everyone that might benefit from the putter shape itself, they are also releasing a Ten Triple Track, and a Tenwhich has the single long alignment line.
The Details
The new Odyssey Ten line of putters will each feature the same updated Stroke Lab shaft which first released in the White Hot OG putters, simply in charcoal instead of red. Additionally, every head style will be available in S-neck or Double Bend options with a blue and grey Odyssey pistol or oversized grip. The putters will all come in at $299.99 on their release.

Talked to a couple of guys at the shop. They did not get any tour lined and they think that there wont be a tour lined version. But I took that with a grain of salt since I wasnt talking to anyone high up or a buyer or anything.
Which is definitely why they’re running with both inserts, one heck of a well rounded lineup. Hard to beat the roll on the MH star insert, and if the feel is to your liking, then roll it well!
Of my two putters, the 10 stays in the bag because of the lag putting. I think it’s a mix of the forgiveness and the stroke lab shaft- be patient, it was only one round.
Did you see if there were any slant necks or were they all double bend? Really hoping there is a slant neck in this option!
You took the words out my mouth. I really hope the slant neck is offered or this one is sadly out for me.

Any luck spotting a slant neck one?
No SL’s. I’m betting they aren’t a thing.
Boooooooo. lol. I guess this putter is out then. Oh well, my OG Ten is still working just fine. I think this was more of a tinker more than anything, along with really enjoying the look of it.
This one is one @ddec and I have cried and yelled for for years now, the 2ball being on it is just bonus. This shape and the WH insert tho?
Ugh my heart is broken. I knew it would be.
I don’t like the red shaft, at all, but man I’m enjoying the combo of the Ten shape with this blissful legendary WH insert the past half hour on my putting green
That insert in this head is ?
I am calling shenanigans! The slant neck crew needs the OG WH!
It took YEARS just to get the WH back, but then it happened in the Ten quickly…so maybe?
I will be patient. Maybe by December!
depends on why you didn’t get along with the 2-ball ten the first time, if it was feel, then yeah.
Haha yeah probably would help if I explained a bit more. I was tinkering with my putter swing when I first tried them, and feel was definitely an issue for me. I also wasn’t the biggest fan of the weight, but I think as I’ve grown more comfortable with my stroke the weight would be fine. I just couldn’t keep the ball on its intended line – was missing putts right and left, while my Spider X kept my putts much straighter [shrug].
Still, though, I’d love to give these a roll, as the Ten shape is one of my favorites.
I don’t care for the grip or shaft color, but we will see what is what on the greens!
Good luck @Jman ! I know you’ve been looking forward to trying one of these out on the course for a long time!
Haha! Thank you!
Yeah, after working with the 2-Ball Ten on the course, the feel is where I’ve been missing it on a personal level, this could be excellent!
I really wish they would come out with a 10 with the original strokelab whitehot microhinge insert. I think it would be perfect!
Very much so. I hated the sound, and I couldn’t get the feel down either – I was either blowing putts past the hole or leaving them woefully short, and I could never develop a good rhythm. I also think the weight was messing me up a bit, but that might just have been because I was tinkering with my putting stroke, i.e. actually using a real putter stroke as opposed to cocking my wrists. It could very well have been one of those instances where if I gave it more of a chance I might have been fine, which is why I’m still intrigued by the White Hot OG Tens.
All I know for sure is that I missed way more putts on my home putting mat and on putting greens with the 2-Ball Tour Lined Ten then I did with my Spider X, which is why the Spider X is my current gamer.
I agree – it is just strange that I can’t find any mention of these anywhere on the internets. None of the major big box retailers have them listed, and a general Google search comes up with practically zilch.
Seeing as only one of my local stores has a decent selection when it comes to putters anyway, I’m not optimistic, although maybe my little local pro shop might have some insight. I have a lesson there tomorrow to figure out how to dial in my BB B-21 driver, so I’ll pop in and ask.
Honestly, I have nothing.
Such an odd release!
It’s so easy to line up. I still don’t love the insert (much more prefer milled), but the 2 ball triple track alignment is so good.

I would love to see mass back to the blue line to give it a more solid feeling.
Hmmmm – it must really be limited if they even put that on the sole! A small part of me would be willing to pay extra to have any willing THPers snag one and ship it to me here in NJ…but then I remember that I need to be responsible (sometimes, anyway), and that I already have a new putter coming my way tomorrow. Honestly, I might have a putter problem – probably because putting is the only part of golf I do well at somewhat consistently, thus its my favorite thing to do .
my heart is still broken
UGH…I need a slant neck in this

Might be worth grabbing a couple of these to keep/sell if they are available where you are…
