Off Course is back this week with a fantastic show. Hosted by Dan Edwards, each Friday he gives you a deep look into the world of golf and equipment in a way unlike any other podcast has done before. Today, THP Staff Writer Dean joins the show and with Black Friday directly in the rearview mirror by a week, it gets some fun dialogue.
It wouldn’t be Off Course without some tangents, but Dan and Dean talk about the madness that is Black Friday and the ridiculous memories of golfers. This show has a lot going on and is one you will not want to miss as the Dean of THP goes Off Course.

Episode 135 is here and Dan and Dean discuss the following topics.
Black Friday Madness
Golfers’ Ridiculous Memories
Diverse Rangefinder Options
How Do You Driving Range
And so much more

You make me happy.
Putting this one to listen on the way to work.
Will take a listen later today.
This one will be fired up today
Dan was fired up as soon as he started the intro. Love it :drinks:
I’ll listen on the road today. I can say that my local golf store done almost zero sales on Black Friday.
I used to rip 100 plus shots at the range rapid fire. Now I take my time and set up and make sure to do my pre shot routine. I let my kid hit more since he loves it so it’s a win win.
Big range after round fan.
2 sides of the bf deals
The b1g1 on golf bags was a little ? but cool if 2 people went half on a bag and got 2.
Black quail had some crazy sale shirts on sale plus an extra 35 percent.

I think I am starting to become a convert!
Let’s block out two hours for this duo next time ? Hi boys.
Well I got 30 mins in on my commute, we’ll see if anything happens when I start listening again for the drive home 😉
In all seriousness – love the chat about the kids and getting them hyped to play golf. Reminded me of the first few times I got out there with my son, and playing putting games in the living room with him when he was little. Good stuff.
Enjoyed the listen gents- don’t disagree that it’s uncanny the amount of information we can remember from a random round of golf, let alone the special ones.
Loves the kid golf talk. My oldest wants to start playing. She asked for golf clubs for Christmas. We have other plans so that big of an expense probably won’t happen. But my birthday is in Jan. Maybe I will get her clubs for my birthday.

Jumping in to listen
No range after the round ever. Only about 10-12 swings before the round. You guys are crazy lol
Fantastic show guys.
Im with @jdtox in the no range after the round.
when I have time, I love the post round range sesh.
Im in the pre-round camp with 20-30 balls max. 5-10 with a PW. 5 or so with a 7i. 2-3 with driver. Focus on each swing as if it was a real shot. My current focus is a balanced finish that I hold until after ball lands.
Real practice is only for days I don’t play. If I have more time to “kill” before my tee time, then I’m spending more time chipping and putting.
I’ve never tried the post round range session.

you should have heard him before…this one was tame
Also…..I remember virtually nothing from the actual golf when we played @Canadan. I remember two of your shots (how can one forget a near 300 yard iron) and my fairway bunker shot. Otherwise, my memories area all about the conversation.
Black Friday, Cyber Monday is a sham these days.
Also rangefinders are dated
I appreciate the notion of being very aware of staying calm around kids when playing/teaching them the game. Think that really embeds the first impression of what’s normal/expected, so it’s important.
Wiping off the club after each swing is honestly something I need to do when on the range. I have a bad habit of just firing shot after shot rapid fire style, and that isn’t how we actually play a round, so why would we practice like that? I’m always trying to slow myself down once I get into a rhythm or start focusing on trying to find something specific.

It’s a weird habit I developed for myself after getting brand new irons one year. I just couldn’t bring myself to destroy the faces and needed something to pace my shots on the range. It’s a good crazy haha
I never really go to the range after a round cuz of time, but I’m pretty sure I’m out on that anyways. Playing is so much more fun. Nothing worse than ending with the boring part.
