Off Course is back this week with a fantastic show and this is episode 237. Hosted by Dan Edwards, each Friday he gives you a deep look into the world of golf and equipment in a way unlike any other podcast has done before. Today, Casey Shultz from Cleveland Golf joins the show to discuss the new RTZ wedges and creating a raw wedges that doesn’t rust.
It wouldn’t be Off Course without some tangents, but Dan and Casey dive into many topics including gearing up for a big 2025 with Cleveland Golf and the crazy customization of the RTZ wedges. This show has a lot going on and is one you will not want to miss as Casey Shultz goes Off Course.

Episode 237 is here and Dan and Casey discuss the following topics.
Gearing up For a Big 2025
The Cleveland RTZ Wedge
Z-Alloy, New Steel For Better Feel
Applying Effective Technologies to a New Material
A Raw Wedge that Doesn’t Rust
And so much more

Hmmm… watching now.. will
Casey is great at the gauntlet but it’s nice to see him get to slow down a bit.
I will definitely dive into this later tonight.
Ill be catching this one tomorrow!
Nice – I’ll be listening tomorrow!
Pleasantly surprised to see this when I fired up YouTube. Watching now.
Will be fun to see these non rusty raw wedges in the previous haters hands.

No reason to hate them if they don’t rust. ?

Exactly.
I live where rust doesn’t happen. So can have rust envy. But am intrigued by a new alloy for golf wedges.
Fantastic episode. Even hearing about it, raw that doesn’t rust still kinda breaks my brain. And that Shaft U idea at the very end…
Also, the new THP TV graphics and framing change are very small touches for the video but so so nice. Absolutely crushing it. (I can’t turn the production portion of my brain off)
This is obviously a must watch. Might be ideal for Saturday morning with my coffee.
Nice drop on a very interesting line! I’ll get to this asap.
Morning bump for my favorite way to start a Friday morning.
So far, a very interesting conversation on Z-Alloy.
Coffee has been acquired- time to spend some time with @Canadan on Friday morning.
New intro drop- closer camera angles off the rip- Love the new ambiance gents.
Virtually all Tour players are in Raw. Really interesting stuff.
I got a call out

I did!
That was really good and makes me want to venture into the raw, not raw rust venue. Will be getting some swings in on these for sure. Looking forward to this release as the RTX4 was my last venture in these and loved those.
Wonder if this Z material will make into an iron at some point.
Seriously though, people that are interested should jump now if that Free Customization promo is still going on.
Was great how when they mentioned the technology they had on the grooves, face surface. It’s s been so successful that they had to bring them into this new material. Yet it wasn’t just a copy paste and had to figure that out to incorporate into the new material.
Tour and staff jumping all-in with these so quickly too!
Was the jump into AI and shaft’s with Don at the end intentionally done? That was kinda crazy how they could use AI there.
Man. The death of rust makes me sad.

This was a great listen. Tons of tech talk packed into this one, and I love how Cleveland really thought out the process for this new design. From getting the approvals to use the new materials, to the grind and all the options.
My Edel wedges are probably ok for another season, but once they are ready to be replaced, Cleveland will be at the top of the list given the options available.

Great eipside. Still crazy they just created a new metal just for these. Really fighting hard to not just order a couple, but not sure if I want to stick with 54/58 or move to one less hybrid and go 52/56/60…
This was a great episode. Love all the tech talk on the new wedges and hearing the feedback from the tour.
Listening to this now and I’m even more excited about having them in my bag!
@Canadan and I see eye to eye on rusty wedges. We do not however on Full Face wedges.

I see a full face wedge and I don’t know whether to hit a flop shot or start doing my laundry the old school way.

I can’t do either but here I am :ROFLMAO:
If you can listen to this episode and not want to try RTZ you are a stronger person than me
I really hope everyone enjoyed this in depth look. The concept adds a little disruption to the wedge purist reality and I’m glad it’s being done by a company who had a known history of quality in the space.
The Z-Alloy story is pretty darn cool. Great pod, Dan and Casey!
I have something spicy coming..
This is tomorrow mornings listen during my workout. Couldn’t get through it without interruption today

It definitely ramped up my desire to try RTZ
Great episode @Canadan. Between my love of the previous Clevelands I had in the bag from 2023 Srixon experience and this episode I would have these in the bag today if it wasn’t for my commitment to another wedge in 2025.
Coffee and Off Course have been consumed. Great episode and really gets me pumped up to get my wedges in March!
