Off Course is back this week with a fantastic show and this is episode 226. Hosted by Dan Edwards, each Friday he gives you a deep look into the world of golf and equipment in a way unlike any other podcast has done before. Today, the founder of Scheyden Eyewear, Jeff Herold, joins the show and we discuss eyewear and his fascinating tenure in the world of golf.
It wouldn’t be Off Course without some tangents, but Dan and Jeff dive into many topics including performance through clarity and how Scheyden can help every golfer. This show has a lot going on and is one you will not want to miss as Jeff Herold goes Off Course.

Episode 226 is here and Dan and Jeff Herold discuss the following topics.
Jeff Herold – Fascinating Tenure in Golf
Connecting Scheyden to Golf
The Value of Comfort and Quality
Performance Through Clarity
20% Off Right Now – Coupon Code THP20
And so much more

I’ll have to take a listen. Curious if prescription lenses are available.
Really good show. Not just the eyewear talk but also his story in golf.
Coupon is pretty good too.
It would be nice to find form fitting Prescriptions, but I’m not as Cool as this guy.
My goodness. Jeff has had a life.
I looked for this on YouTube. Not there this week?
Actually wore Scheyden while playing yesterday. Fall is a really difficult time for me to see the golf ball, but the combo of the lenses and a yellow ball really made a difference.
wow 25 years? I had never heard of them until this year
CIA = confidence in action. Intersesting
Really enjoying these sunglasses. Originally bought the small grabber, but the FOV was too small. Exchanged them for the regular and much better FOV coverage. However the arms extend way past my ears and awkward. Too good of a view to not wear them and getting used to it. Wish they were a little bit shorter.
Fun listen so far. I was one that was a rabid anti-golf-sunglassite. I have tried a few times before these and just didnt enjoy the experience. But these are clear, do not created odd parallax that gives you vertigo and comfortable.. win, win, win..
I’ve still be wearing my Loopers but now I kind of want to try the CIA Grabbers with the lighter lens. I do enjoy the more stylish options like Oakley’s if I’m being honest but there is no question the lenses here are fantastic.

Is it weird that I always just accepted “CIA” and never wondered what it meant?
Very satisfying to hear confidence in action for the first time haha

Not at all I did the same haha
Can’t wait to listen later. Been really enjoying the full light performance of the Grabbers.

I agree on the form fitting prescriptions…. it would be fantastic… The bummer of it all is, it’s very difficult to put manufacture corrective lenses when there is significant curvature to the lens (like the form fitting ones). There tends to be lots of distortion of what you’re looking at if one is not focused on what is straight ahead. The flatter the lens, the better in those cases. Nothing I’d like better than some form fitting shades but…. for the time being, it’s the old Wayfarers that work best for me. And agreed… even if i had some cooler shades, i’d never be as slick as that guy…. ever.
The loopers fit was just a bit off for me. Has the wingman always been there? ?
Glad this came back up, i probably need to find something that works for protection alone.
He’s giving a good sales pitch for the cia grabbers tho.

What seems really interesting about him is that he looks for solutions in his every day experiences. The fact that it was born from a desire to make glasses more efficient and comfortable for flying and then just started cascading into other avenues is pretty great.

Kind of a parallel to how the golf travel cover came to be and obviously the same person

after we cut recording we talked a little bit about Club Glove and how I know it’s weird but when I think of that company I immediately think of the towel I always end up buying at a golf course because of the quality.
Apparently even that was extreme on quality when selecting material.
Can’t wait to tune in. Their glasses are legit.
Going to give a listen on my way to see my coach. Sounds interesting. Heard a lot of Scheyden Eyewear comments on here and even on PGA radio. I have some Tifosi tinted for the golf course, but I think a lot of golfers overlook the importance of the correct lenses. I’ll probably have more to say after I listen to it. I used to be a guy who always took my shades off on the putting green, but I’ve improved my reads a ton leaving my Tifosi on now.
Listening now as I have an hour commute to my tee time. I plan to get these in prescription next spring

I do not think the coupon lasts that long
Oddly enough I was listening to the local radio station on their app the other day and kept hearing Scheyden commercials. I thought it was odd since I had literally never heard of them before the testing opportunity on THP
I really enjoyed this one on my drive around with the kiddos to and from Tulsa today. Thanks Dan.

Holy hell, that blew my mind when I heard it
As someone who wears sunglasses every day and every single round, this will be a fun listen. Think they’re super important
This was a fantastic listen!!
Bump for some Saturday morning coffee time.
Has me getting my Scheyden back out for golf this week.
Great episode @Canadan. Very informative.

Thanks! Was fun to learn more about the brand.
It’s crazy he was also responsible for Club Glove. Even when I don’t use my big CG towel in favor of a Devant or something, I always have a small pocket CG to clean the ball on the green
Another great show. It was interesting to learn of the history behind some of these products. Club Glove to glasses.
