Off Course is back this week with a fantastic show and this is episode 266. Hosted by Dan Edwards, each Friday he gives you a deep look into the world of golf and equipment in a way unlike any other podcast has done before. Today, THP Creative Director Jeremy joins the show to discuss experiencing Nebraska Golf and the emotions around rain delays.
It wouldn’t be Off Course without some tangents, but Dan and Jeremy dive into many topics including a rant on fixing your pitch marks, Vokey Wedges and getting fit for them. This show has a lot going on and is one you will not want to miss as Jeremy goes Off Course.

Episode 266 is here and Dan and Jeremy discuss the following topics.
Experiencing Nebraska golf is Different
The Emotions Around Rain Delays
Vokey Wedges and Fitting
Walking vs Riding a New Course
Golf Trinkets
Fix your Pitch Marks!
And so much more
You can listen to the show right here, Apple Podcasts or anywhere you do your listening and downloading from. Search for the Hackers Paradise and make sure to subscribe so you never miss an episode. Very cool. I have a 2 hr drive to golf with buddies this morning so will tee this up then ??
First thing I noticed was the bourbon shirt. First thing discussed was the bourbon shirt lol.
Once again… can’t wait for my morning commute. I ?? Nebraska golf.
100% agree that I’d rather walk 10/10 times over CPO
Nebraska golf = Amazing
CPO = living hell
Why do you hate Chicago Dan
Things I never thought I’d hear before I die.

Same reason you do – WAY too many people lmao
I can’t wait to catch up on this, this weekend, can’t wait to hear what you boys have to say about Nebraska!
Immediately to the top of the queue for my drive. Can’t wait to relive the experience ?
Will be tuning in later.
‘Fix your damn ball marks, quit dragging your feet and drink bourbon’
Words to live by ??
Can’t wait to listen
Definitely interested in hearing about Vokey wedge fitting in this episode. Just seeing that listed brought a smile to my face.
Man this was a fun one, @Canadan hasn’t had me on in a while haha. Hope you guys enjoy.
Also that bourbon shirt, I had to have it when I saw it lol.
The effusive praise of GrayBull continues. ?

Its just different and awesome. I didn’t find it to be a hard course but we also didn’t have a bunch of wind
Ugh the ball marks are so much worse than I remember, everywhere. I somehow hate it even worse at a private club.
Group 2 just out here catching strays as usual.
Rust-able wedges ?

Off Course…one of the most consistent and favorite parts of my week. Thanks @Canadan and @jdtox !
Just started the episode and you guys nailed it describing how it feels driving up to the property. It wasn’t at all what I expected even though we’ve seen all the pictures and heard others talk about it.
Not finished yet. But fun listen so far. Makes me jealous y’all have been there.

So far I like the walking golf talk. I always feel like I play better walking and you totally get a better feel for the course when you walk.

Agree completely. I mentioned it being a treat, though I would much rather push a cart than carry haha.
Oh for sure. A motorized cart even better. But Walking a course is so great.
Fix your damn ball marks!

Its worse at a private club. Same people complaining about it, dont fix theirs.
The talk about walking the course was good. GrayBull it’s such a special place and it was a whole different feeling those first 10 holes. It’s funny because everything seemed so flat from up at the clubhouse, but when we got down there, you could feel so much more up-and-down the hills than it looked like.
I’ve been telling myself that I need to get out and walk more. That confirmed it for me. I also noticed that I felt tightness starting as soon as I sat in the cart.
Also, fix your damn ball marks!
My favorite part was the discussion of the wedge fitting at TPI. I was there and was being fit at the same time as you two. I liked @jdtox bringing up the difference in what wedges he thought he would be fit in and what he was ultimately fit into. That same thing happened with me. I ended up in low bounce wedges in a 56 and 60.

This is absolutely true, and It’s SO aggravating.
I ?? trinkets.
This is what I do with my ball markers. Its a challenge coin display. Works well for markers and divot tools.
Fun listen. I grab a ball marker the first time I play a course. Dont even care if it is special. I have one from every course I’ve played. Have a coffee mug with them on my desk. Keep a few in rotation and in the valuables pouch in my bag. Just grab one each round. And it goes back. If I’ve played the same one a few times in a row and it hasn’t been going well I’ll grab another one but usually just a ramdom one. Will switch them out ever few months. And do same routine with new ones. I tend to play the ones the size that can fit into a pitch tool and just switch it onto that.
Also, fix your damn pitch marks people.
This was a fun listen. Trinkets are the best but storing them is the worst.
Fix your ball marks and drink bourbon. Words to live by.

Typical 2025 Red Wings “fan” response.
Well once known as Hockeytown and now not having made the playoffs in forever its extremely disappointing, what do you expect?

Didn’t you hear? They’re putting Hockeytown back on center ice. Everything is solved!
@jdtox I have a confession to make and I need absolution.
Hole 9 Par 3 195 yards. It was my final hole of the day. I’m the last one on the course. I came really close to a hole in 1, thank you Srixon hybrids. I was so amped that I put the putt 7 feet past the hole, saved par and then walked off. An hour later I realized I never fixed my ball mark. I felt really bad and I actually had a hard time falling asleep that night because of it. :ROFLMAO:
What is my penance?

I’m usually the last one on the course for the day and I’m constantly fixing ball marks on the green. At least a couple per hole.
