Off Course is back this week with a fantastic show and this is episode 253. Hosted by Dan Edwards, each Friday he gives you a deep look into the world of golf and equipment in a way unlike any other podcast has done before. Today, Mike Yagley from Cobra Golf joins the show to discuss 3D Printing of golf clubs and the future of creation.
It wouldn’t be Off Course without some tangents, but Dan and the Mike team dive into many topics including whether or not this is the biggest innovation in golf since the solid core golf ball. This show has a lot going on and is one you will not want to miss as 3D Printing of golf clubs goes Off Course.

Episode 253 is here and Dan and Mike Yagley discuss the following topics.
How 3D Printing is Evolving Over Time
The Reaction of All Skill Levels Testing 3DP Tour
Is 3D Printing clubs one of the Biggest Innovation Leaps Ever
Future Material Potential and Where 3DP Tour Benefits Most
And so much more
You can listen to the show right here, Apple Podcasts or anywhere you do your listening and downloading from. Search for the Hackers Paradise and make sure to subscribe so you never miss an episode. Waiting on the 3DP Tec making it to production…
I’m no metallurgist, but the conversation got interesting when he started talking about the potential to create alloys that wouldn’t be possible in casting/forging. Also @Canadan, great question about the ability to layer materials when 3D printing, that’s a pretty mind-bending concept.

This absolutely stood out to me as well. It was a really good question, and it also sort of broke my mind to think about the possibilities down the line.
I will eventually not have to drive forever to try the 3D printed irons. They look great.

Another great listen @Canadan. Find it fascinating that they are seeing High Handicappers fitting into these or having just as good results as they are with DS Adapts and Max.

That little reveal from Yags has me wanting to hit them. I’m not truly a high handicapper but I am one who gravitates towards the Game Improvement type irons.

That part of the conversation with Yags was definitely interesting. I can only imagine what the alloys could be and how they will affect golf club innovation.

Do it. I’m a high handicapper and when I hit YAG’s irons at the Morgan Cup I started with his 5 iron cause that is what he had in hand and I hit it well. I don’t even play a 6 iron in my game improvement sets now.
Honestly I would have them but the thought of me playing such a small profile iron scares me, and I can convince myself that one day I hit them I just had a good swing day (though I’m honestly not sure that’s true, the irons could just be that good).

Eventually I will.

I start from 6i in my set now. But hitting Yags’ 5i, I was stunned at how well it launches and even I could get in on line.

It was mystifying how easy that 5 iron was to hit, and my GI sets start at 7 iron ?
But the profile is so tiny, could I really do it? It’s tempting to find out…

I may have sent an email to a dealer about how much a 6-GW set would cost with Recoil Darts… ?

I’ve been looking at the same….it’s a sickness…but I like it.
It would be cool to have 3D printed golf clubs and live in a 3D Printed House.

I’m catching up on podcasts. This is one of my favorite guests. The enthusiasm Mike has for golf is contagious. Really easy listen. Mike could be a co-host of this show easily.
I have never hit a Cobra anything, but I would certainly like to.

It’s real.
I have no doubt you would be thrilled with how this 5i plays. It launches like no one’s business. I’ve seen you play and you would not have an issue with this and be able to put it in the bag successfully.
