Off Course is back this week with a fantastic show and this is episode 217. Hosted by Dan Edwards, each Friday he gives you a deep look into the world of golf and equipment in a way unlike any other podcast has done before. Today, Zack Oakley, Product Marketing Manager of Callaway Golf, joins the show and we take a deep dive into the brand new launch of Apex irons from earlier this week.
It wouldn’t be Off Course without some tangents, but Dan and Zack dive into many topics including celebrating 10 years of Apex. This show has a lot going on and is one you will not want to miss as Zack Oakley goes Off Course.

Episode 217 is here and Dan and Zack discuss the following topics.
Apex Throughout the Years – Celebrating 10 Years
How Does Ai Fit in?
Focusing In on the Features of Ai200 and Ai300
The Sound/Feedback Goal of Apex
The Third Apex Iron
And so much more
You can listen to the show right here, Apple Podcasts or anywhere you do your listening and downloading from. Search for the Hackers Paradise and make sure to subscribe so you never miss an episode. Finely is definitely trying to get on off course to fire back

He will have something to say haha
Will give this a listen during tomorrows workout.
Great episode. When I hit the TiFusion, I also had a hard time describing what I felt. It was really good. Don’t think it is something I could play, but that 8i was insanely good
The Apex line sure sounds special this year. And the Ti Fusion just look so darn good!
A combo set would line up really well too – blending of the designs definitely helps with bag uniformity, if that makes sense.
Sure does come across how excited Zack is about the lineup!
Got some travel tomorrow so this will be listened to.
I was only able to get halfway through today, but my favorite part so far is how he describes “who” they’re built for.
“So guy that used to be good but is losing a little and trying to get it back…..”
I mean damn man, Callaway thinks of everything. I think they’re using AI to get in peoples heads, not design clubs. ?
Good stuff!!
Watching now. Really dig @Canadan starting off with the legacy of the Apex line and how it opened up a new segment for those of us in the middle.

thanks buddy!
I think it’s a pretty important thing to celebrate 10 years of Apex.

Just one of those items that comes out and you know it’s going to be impactful. Also stoked to see the forged body combined with the forged face like the 14s. In contrast to what my game could benefit from, I’m very visually drawn to thinner top lines, and Apex always delivers.

one of my favorite things about these releases is that Apex (like some others) has a cult level following that is absolutely earned over years of success – so now as we get to learn about the new concepts, seeing people go out and bring that bias whether intentional or not into their feedback is SO much fun.
It’s exciting. Thinking about the people who are going to see their iron game transform because of these… it’s great.

They’re a measuring stick. Every iteration, I’m drawing comparisons to past models. The feel of the 14 Pros. The low forgiveness of the CF16. Refinement, advancing tech, keeping that profile and increasing forgiveness, speed and launch. I like how Zack put it, for the people who care enough about their game, but can’t live at the golf course.
What a freaking show. Listened to the apple podcast version earlier today. Just finished with the video version. I can’t lie and said the way the Ti Fusions were talked about at the end of the show had a part in me purchasing them today. Then watching Zack speak about them has me even more excited than I thought I could be about them. What a release from Callaway!
A lot of knowledge dropped in a short time. Zach has a very clear way of describing what they were looking for in each iron.
New irons were not in the cards for the near future. But now, I need to go hit the Ti fusions.
Just listened to this one again on my run and damn to say I’m excited would be an understatement. If the Ai200’s were created off input from @DNevsCG swing…watch out!!!
Great episode. Really enjoyed learning more and can’t wait to hit the new Apex irons.

Crazy to think what we were doing about 10 years ago, seeing and hitting the Apex for the first time.
It was a great watch and listen. I just love the Apex line, and glad that they are releasing the Ti Fusions as a semi-prototype so that they can clearly see what works and will be mainstream in the future…that will eventually even benefit those of us that don’t purchase the immediate version.
Great Show it is always fun listening to Zach talk about irons. Lots of great information as always from @Canadan!
I want to hit these. See what kind of monster they are..
