Off Course is back this week with a fantastic show and this is episode 164. Hosted by Dan Edwards, each Friday he gives you a deep look into the world of golf and equipment in a way unlike any other podcast has done before. Today THP Staff Writer James Miles joins the show.
It wouldnโt be Off Course without some tangents, but Dan and James talk about Rickie Fowler winning again on tour. This show has a lot going on and is one you will not want to miss as James Miles goes Off Course.

Episode 164 is here and Dan and James discuss the following topics.
Play the Right Ball
Getting better the Right Way
The Golf Shoe
Rickie Fowler
And so much more

I spent a lot more time than normal on the sim today hahahaha
Will be listening to this later tonight.
Damn it. I should have checked this out on course today. Would have made the brutal pace more bearable.
Good podcast guys. Made my lunch break enjoyable today!
Been on vacation. Driving home tomorrow. Will load this up!
I need to listen to this one especially after some chatter about golf balls recently.

Or or or, you could go hit 3 shots from the fairway and work on distance control on the course! ๐
I am currently playing 2 balls and working on my pre shot routine!
Iโm sure it looks like Iโm just bashing balls but I swear thereโs work being done. I donโt like alignment sticks though. I think I have this mental thing that alignment sticks show Iโm actually trying and when Iโm working on something most of my results arenโt gonna be pretty. But if Iโm not showing Iโm trying then itโs all good to hit stinkers.
Playing the right golf ball and Rickie Fowler in the same pod! This could be interesting. I was thinking about golf balls today when I played. I think itโs time for a smidge less spin..
Listened on my bike ride tonight, great show. Iโm right on the cusp of moving up a tier of golf balls – losing less off the tee but very comfortable with the 3 piece ionomer ball due to knowing how it performs for me.
Also Iโve had a pair of Nike shoes for 8+ years and theyโre still going strong. 3 cleat changes and they still feel great.

step into my office ?
Send me those pro v x balls. I need more spin off irons. Or maybe a lesson. ??
Looking forward to listening to this one, Always a good listen.
Iโll give it a listen tomorrow, looking forward to it.
Looking forward to queuing this up later. Sauna golf this morning and pesky work got in the way thus far.
It’s almost to the point where I don’t have to buy Prov1x anymore…. there are so many lost and found on the course haha.
Given I realized yesterday I can count my range trips this summer on one hand the play v. practice conversation resonated.
Itโs just so hard to say no to the course if I pull in and the first few holes are open compared to drilling something on the range
Enjoyed the podcast yesterday. Led to me throwing some new balls in the bag for testing today.

Agreed, and I lived that way for years. The key is re-wiring that a practice session has to be an extended timeframe, 10 minutes hitting chips with a purpose and goal in mind, is a solid practice session. Same can be said for all other phases, and that can be before, or even after the round.

Iโm working on that re-wiring now. Swung in to the course this morning for a quick, focused 20 ball range session. I figure if I can get in that habit, work on the right things, it will pay off in time.

I think itโs also much easier for those at private facilities. As you recently joined private, it makes it easier to hop over and practice and socialize

Absolutely true, but itโs also something I pounded into the heads of my HS kids over the years that I also adopted even on what was our home course that had no range. Play, then go find something you can do for 10 minutes after, even just chipping or putting. Itโs def easier with the right facilities, but it can be done at muniโs too. Biggest thing imo is getting the brain to realize that a small practice session is always better than none at all.

Lol those would rip off the green if my drive didn’t spin up into the atmosphere.
Enjoyed the conversation on practice, and how it doesnโt need to be hitting 100 balls or spending hours at the putting green to be productive. Itโs something Iโm trying to do in order to fit more golf in, hitting 30 balls or putting for a few minutes rather than waiting until I have a larger window on a given day

Itโs a hard thing to change mentally for whatever reason for us, but when you do, it pays massive dividends
Fun listen. I need to stop trying different golf balls and just settle but I like to try them all.
