True story: After my first Toulon SB purchase (TX) I got a call from Sean on a weekend to chat me up on my reaction to the putter. He has stayed in touch periodically since, you don’t see that happening very often, if at all. I’m definitely a fan and I haven’t even listened yet!
I’m liking that shirt Daniel
Really excited for this one…we got a lot of good info on here about the new line and looking forward to seeing what Sean says about it all!
Oh boy! This will be good!
This might be the best episode of Off Course I’ve seen. This sold me on the Toulon concept. I mean, 100% sold me. It’s one thing to read about the family focus Sean has, but it’s another thing to see it. Powerful stuff and that doesn’t even include the nuts and bolts of the putter talk. Great job @Canadan
Shaft University breaking some myths as always too. @DB TT consistently dropping knowledge. I love it.

Its interesting you mention this.
The last time we visited Sean, Morgan and I stopped by to see their new office.
Those that have followed THP, know that we have had a relationship with him and his family going back to his TaylorMade days.
True story. When he found out about what was going on in my life (and more importantly Morgan), not a week has gone by without him calling or texting checking in.
Sean isn’t a sponsor, he isn’t a partner, honestly I am not even sure we have ever worked with him in that type of capacity. He is just a friend, part of our family and someone that has always been there.
His family is strong and working with Preston is wonderful (we got to do that at Mitsubishi too).
I believe there is a place in this industry for brands like this and hope more people get to find out the type of products they are putting out.
I haven’t listened yet but I already want to buy a Toulon putter

Listening to this right now. Sean always brings some good nuggets of information.
I totally forgot it’s Friday.
Also such a nice post @JB those kind of people make work easier.
Alcatraz mini has me pondering. Is this the year to buy a Toulon putter
I am absolutely thrilled that you guys have some emotional connection to this show.
Who else thinks Preston needs to get on the pod to tell his story a bit?
I hate putters. Its just a part of golf that even though it may be the most important…. I just don’t get into them. I can’t say for certain that the end of the show didn’t make me a fan.

Definitely.
And far too many really really really good golfers at that company.

I am REALLY interested as to why putters don’t get you feeling a certain sort of way.
Can’t wait to listen to this later. Just the simple email conversation I had with Sean last year when buying my Alcatraz was some of the most taken care of I’ve ever felt from a brand.
Freaking fantastic. One day I will own another Toulon putter. Brands like this, that put the customer first, are becoming a thing of the past.
They are a company I WANT to support.

I wasn’t really playing much golf when Toulon became big, so I don’t think I ever really connected with the brand. That was an “I get it now” moment though. Very cool.
I have been pestering Sean for a long time about a 2Ball Toulon. On Monday he reached out and I was lucky enough to get on the phone with he and Preston regarding the Carlsbad. We discussed specs and several things. He was building mine while we talked. He sent photos when done and it’s in transit arriving soon. Where else can you get that personal touch? #1 off the line! I’ve been a Toulon guy for several years. Have found nothing for me that has the sound, feel and performance of these fine pieces of art. Can’t wait to put it in play!!
Great job Dan, you hit all the points!!

Well… I’m a bit weird. I actually thought about this podcast as I opened my season today. Still rolling the Bettinardi Queen B #6. I could have went really low if it fully behaved today. Shot a 79 with about 5 tap ins less than 6 inches. The motion of putting feels odd to me. I’m never comfortable though the results aren’t always as bad as they sound.
I did buy a putter today though haha I laughed figuring you’d comment about my post.
Oh lord, Garage hint???
I love my ’22 Las Vegas H4.5… I don’t NEED a ’25 H7… but I want one.
That putting studio sounds INSANE.

Dogs in the office at Toulon has gone back years. THere is a thread somewhere with Morgan and I visiting and before that @ddec and I visiting and Sean’s wife Kathy always had the dogs with them (she really runs the office).

that office was fun. It was small and the garage area with the loft was hot as hell.

Haven’t had a chance to listen just yet but I got excited when I saw this one!
Man this interview makes me want one of these putters so bad.
Sean is an amazing guy. I thought my audio cut out when Dan pointed that question to him…..then the light bulb went off. Unreal. Incredible interview. Great job Dan!

Maybe…
Finally firing this up. Hiding my wallet first.
Also, the hoodie Sean has on seems to be the same one that Preston was wearing in the videos detailing the new line and I want them to put it on sale.
I’m about to tee this up for a listen. Stoked looking forward to this one, I have multiple Toulon Putters:
Garage Columbus
Atlanta
Chicago
Azalea
And I have my eyes on a NYC.
Just an incredible episode @Canadan. I actually had to pause and sit with my thoughts for a couple moments before hearing Shaft University. It’s so clear how important both family and building relationships are to Sean, and the space you left him to express that was fantastic. How could one not want to support and celebrate that? And then on top of it they’re making just amazing putters.
This is such a good episode and Sean is the perfect golf tech nerd for us hahaha and as someone who works in the steel industry the discussion around materials used is awesome
I saved this one to watch while sitting in the sauna and I’m not sure my desire for a boutique like putter is going to be held in check much longer. Have been a huge fan since meeting Mr. Toulon at the ‘17 Grandaddy and now seeing the SB and ‘24/‘25 lines I don’t know if I can hold out much longer.
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the passion and excitement that came through in the interview and hearing just how all in everyone is, I’m sold. Need to save my pennies and figure out which one to add to the collection.
One of my favs @Canadan
Oh man. As a dad……
“There’s only so much time, right?”
Sean interviews and pods are the best interviews and pods! Added to the queue.
Wow, that was great.
great episode as always.
it’s striking when listening to both Sean Toulon in this one and Scotty Cameron in your earlier episode how both of these guys are artists at least as much as they are engineers. it’s so clear in how they describe the world, where they find inspiration, and their desire to incorporate it into a beautiful putter.
That was a great episode! You can really hear the depth of knowledge and the hard work that goes into it from the family. And hearing him talk about them… Man, that was heart warming and touching!
Another great episode Dan. Have had the pleasure of meeting Sean several times. He is truly one of the most sincere guys in the business.

Yep. Me browsing the catalog while listening to the episode…
thanks for keeping this one going, gents.
I love the staying power that conversations with Sean have. He’s pretty great.
I’d love to visit them someday for a putter fitting. The description of the space and tech they are installing was very interesting. Love that it’s a family business and their commitment to craftsmanship and beautiful designs. Saw at least 10 I would love to buy. If only 10 were in my budget.
Really great episode. Sean talking about what the business and legacy means to him is so good. I bet working with or for the Toulons is a special experience.
