Off Course is back this week with a fantastic show and this is episode 246. Hosted by Dan Edwards, each Friday he gives you a deep look into the world of golf and equipment in a way unlike any other podcast has done before. Today, THP Staff Writer Dean joins the show to discuss the iconic 17th hole.
It wouldn’t be Off Course without some tangents, but Dan and Dean dive into many topics including the Players and who to watch in the Majors in 2025. This show has a lot going on and is one you will not want to miss as THP Dean goes Off Course.

Episode 246 is here and Dan and Dean discuss the following topics.
The Players and the Iconic 17th Hole
Who Looks Solid for Majors This Year
Using Handicaps and Ego Involved
Working Through Cobra FF33
And so much more
You can listen to the show right here, Apple Podcasts or anywhere you do your listening and downloading from. Search for the Hackers Paradise and make sure to subscribe so you never miss an episode. After listening, come back over and drop us a note below on what you agree and/or disagree with from the episode. If you get a chance, drop us a review wherever you listen from and let others know what you think of the show and/or channel.
Off course is now available in video as well. Tune into the THPGolf YouTube Channel and jump into the video and watch the interaction rather than just listen between Dan and his guests each week.

This is gonna be a fun listen! Can’t wait to get into it
Great way to start the morning!
Hi Matt Ramness.
Popalotapus sounds like a word @JDax would say to me and expect me to understand.
@Canadan and @ddec to start my Friday! Don’t mind if I do!!
@ddec shot a 78 to close the year. Meanwhile, I shot 45 from 2250 yesterday ?
Two holes were +5, so there were some very good moments, but the high scores are just part of my soul.
Wait, Dean. You’re not good off the tee? We’re cooked.
I feel like there’s a difference between some pride/joking about winning and the assertion that the win with pops makes you a better golfer. Maybe I’m not saying that right? If you can’t boast a little bit about a win, what’s the point in winning ?
Time to turn on YouTube today.
I feel for Dahmen. He’s a great example of how tough professional golf can be.
Tying two of the conversations together – I think JT’s appearance on Horvat’s channel really changed my perception of him. He was very personable and enjoyable to watch.
Enjoy a rambling episode. Which was certainly fun to record.

Shamble is basically the only non standard format I like, but it does require a teammate that can come through off the tee ?

Yeah I think this is one of the harder things to communicate. It’s all about arrogance and ego for me. I’m down to laugh and celebrate victories but the second it feels like arrogance or bloated ego I lose all interest in the moment.
I think that goes for every aspect of this game though. I don’t want to be around anyone like that whether I’m competing against them or not.

I agree with this from all sides actually.
Its fun to celebrate. I dont think it has to be arrogant.
But if a higher handicap is celebrating a victory, they shouldnt be told “well you did with pops” either. That is just as bad to me.

of course not.
Unless they are bragging, and then they get to hear all about it.
@Canadan the subtle sarcasm of “what did you get?” “Par net par” made me laugh this morning.
8:40 “the GHIN system sucks”.
You have my attention. I’m just figuring out this whole handicap thing so all this talk is really interesting to me. Looking forward to April 1 when I can start recording my rounds in New York.

It’s a long road to get jaded with the system and how to navigate it when you travel and use caps.
Nothing to worry about, just keeping posting those scores and it’ll work locally just fine.
I get a small mention early lol
I thought for sure there would be more when the talk of combined came up. I’m shocked
Going to Q this up shortly!
