Off Course is back this week with a fantastic show and this is episode 287. Hosted by Dan Edwards, each Friday he gives you a deep look into the world of golf and equipment in a way unlike any other podcast has done before. Today, THP Staff Writer James Miles joins the show to breakdown the new Vokey SM11 wedge grinds and how high lofted woods are back.
It wouldn’t be Off Course without some tangents, but Dan and James dive into many topics including playing the SM11 wedges and an incident that makes Dan want to discuss yelling “fore”. This show has a lot going on and is one you will not want to miss as James Miles goes Off Course.

Episode 287 is here and Dan and James discuss the following topics and a whole lot more.
Just Yell Fore. It’s Simple and Easy
The Golf Sim Experience – Highs and Lows
Walking Through Vokey SM11 Grinds
The Struggle to Put it All Together is Real
High Lofted Woods are Now Legit?
And so much more
You can listen to the show right here, Apple Podcasts or anywhere you do your listening and downloading from, including Spotify and more. This should be a fun listen can’t wait
Another Friday, another quality hour with @Canadan on the menu.
I’m excited to hear about the different grinds. I truly am not knowledgeable in this area.
Oh I gotta listen to @Canadan and @Jman discussing my favorite subject – high lofted fairway woods. I’m excited.
This sounds like a good one! I’ll be listening to this one during work today
I’m going to give it a listen in a bit, as it relates to a current ponder
Today is when I wish I had a real commute to work and could finish it in one shot.
Many years ago a guy my age (I was playing with some older Korean and almost WW2 veterans) and he was hitting close to them for what seemed like a game. They finally aske me to talk to him so I did. He done it again. The older guy of the group asked me to “deal with him.” Without regret, I threw him in the collection pond. I didn’t pay for a round of golf for a couple of years 😎

I haven’t had a chance to listen yet, so I’m just sitting here wondering how this story is relevant to this pod 🤣
Always a fun time getting to chat golf with my guy @Canadan
we might need to start calling these therapy sessions.
Wedge grinds constantly confuse me, so I’m very glad this one is coming up on my queue!
Look forward to listening to this. My experience at TPI made me a believer in getting fit for grinds. It’s wild how one grind can feel natural and another feel clunky.
And what I was fit to wasn’t close to what got when I ‘self fit’ myself…or made assumptions based on what I thought would be best.
The @hedley_lamarr story is currently thread MVP, for the record.
I want more haha
I think I’m going to warn my playing partners in advance that I will be yelling “fore” if there is even a chance the ball comes near someone. For my ball and theirs. Just get it out of the way up front!

It’s smart honestly, never mind being that guy in the group, especially if others just won’t yell.
Wish there was somewhere around me that I could get a proper TPI like wedge fitting.

I’m not as long as I was. Injuries have caught me. I’m lucky to see 115mph anymore and thats full go. More reason to be excited about the ShaftUP and getting even another fitting. Trying to “play golf” and not just hammer the nail now.
We do need to find a way to get a round in.
40” 9W, swing like a PW.
Veddy interesting.
Hearing Jmans enthusiasm for the 9 wood was a good listen.
I want to shorten mine now wow 1.5 inches from standard.

It definitely rates a thought. I’m wondering what it’d kick out of the bag.

I appreciate you guys bringing this one into the weekend!
It’s so much fun to just rip it up with @Jman from time to time.

I just realized I completely missed this. Will be firing it up shortly.
Alright… actually hitting play on this now. Whiskey poured, and video on the TV.
“Slower and Southerner” sounds like a team name JB would make for Bag Boy entrants.
Fantastic episode gentlemen.
