Original Penguin Summer/Fall 2025 Collection

Original Penguin’s Summer/Fall 2025 golf collection finds its rhythm in the balance between where the brand has been and where it’s headed next. Built on decades of heritage but designed with the modern player in mind, this lineup offers a refreshed take on classic profiles, upgraded with smarter materials and a global design influence that feels modern without trying too hard.

This isn’t just about retro vibes or heritage nods. There’s real intention in the fabric choices, cut lines, and color palette. The men’s side brings in rich seasonal tones, lightweight recycled blends, and layered textures, while the women’s collection leans into versatility, clean structure, and pieces that can move across sport, travel, and lifestyle without skipping a beat.

“For the Summer/Fall Collection, we wanted to tell a design story that was both nostalgic and forward-thinking,” said Oscar Feldenkreis, CEO of Perry Ellis International. “By merging the iconic looks of the past with cutting-edge performance features and globally inspired aesthetics, we’ve created a collection that feels sophisticated, relevant, and ready for today’s multi-sport consumer.”

Whether you’re layering up for a breezy round or packing light for a warm weekend, the entire collection is made to look sharp and function well beyond the first tee.

Technical Highlights

Original Penguin doesn’t lean heavily on tech talk, but the performance is built in where it counts. Across both the men’s and women’s collections, you’ll find lightweight, flexible fabrics that hold up on the course while keeping comfort and mobility top of mind.

“We continue to push ourselves to honor our heritage while building a product that performs as hard as our athletes do—on and off the course,” added Feldenkreis.  “This collection reflects the lifestyle of the modern player who values authenticity, versatility, and self-expression in every aspect of their game.”

Summer/Fall 2025 Men’s Collection

The men’s side brings a polished update to wardrobe staples. Recycled-performance blends with elastane provide stretch, moisture wicking, and quick-dry properties. Most pieces offer UPF 50+ protection, and the fit is modern without feeling tight.

Standouts include a redesigned wind vest that feels more elevated than sporty, and a heritage track jacket in luxe lyocell that brings a tailored, off-course vibe. The use of block prints inspired by Japanese design adds a subtle edge to otherwise classic silhouettes. Color-wise, traditional shades like Black Iris and Caviar anchor the palette, while seasonal tones like Mauve Wine and Earth Red bring some unexpected depth.

Summer/Fall 2025 Women’s Collection

For women, the story is about confident layering and multi-sport versatility. Performance dresses and tops take cues from the archives but get a modern update in shape and feel. Veronica tops and dresses are standout pieces—designed for movement and styled for crossover appeal.

New to the lineup is Polar Pete layering for women, featuring Coolmax and merino blends that deliver softness and structure. A featherweight ¼ zip and a quilted puffer round out the weather-ready options, both featuring heritage details that tie back to the brand’s core.

Original Penguin Polos

Sake-Tini in Caribbean Sea

The Sake-Tini Polo ($85) shows a playful twist on the Original Penguin Summer/Fall line’s Japanese inspiration. Similar to many of the modern Penguin prints, Sake-Tini brings to mind fun times with our friends after our round. The Caribbean Sea background is broken up by a confetti pattern with small splashes of color. This is a shirt that will stand out up close, but still blend in a bit from a distance. It especially pops when paired with dark colored bottoms.

Like most Original Penguin polos, Sake-Tini fits true to size, with a slightly more athletic cut than other Perry Ellis brands – Callaway Apparel, for example. Expect slightly shorter overall length, shorter sleeves, and a somewhat slimmer profile. If you’re a person that prefers a roomier fit, it is possible you could size up, but we don’t feel that it’s a requirement.

Heritage Stripe in Black Iris

The Heritage Stripe ($80), in many ways, is the quintessential Original Penguin polo. It exhibits class with just enough quirkiness that it pulls the eyes in. The piped three-button placket contrasts against the horizontal striping, and the fabric feels plush and soft on the skin. This is a great option for a more high-end look that will fit in any environment where you want to present the best-dressed version of yourself.

Made of a synthetic blend that included recycled material, the Heritage Stripe wicks moisture away quite well, even though it’s not the lightest option in the Original Penguin catalogue.

Twill Pete in Bright White

Twill Pete is a standout piece in the Original Penguin Summer/Fall 2025 line. Against the Bright White background are a plethora of perfectly aligned blue golf tees that blend to a beautiful shade from a distance. One thing that stands out almost immediately is the Twill Pete Logo. It’s different than typical Original Penguin logo we see on polos in that it’s printed into the fabric that makes it appear debossed. It’s a subtle look that screams modern and we love it.

With its slightly casual overall theme, we found the Twill Pete looked great both tucked and untucked. This should be a first-pick polo in any closet that values a fun and casual approach to golf fashion.

Technical Earl in Asphalt

Original Penguin’s Tour staff was spotted in the Technical Earl ($75) often in 2025 for good reason. Its Pique construction is made for warmer temperatures and it’s probably the coolest feeling polo in the Summer/Fall 2025 lineup. Closeup inspection shows the vented (almost mesh) nature of the Pique fabric, but the Technical Earl still gives off a high-end look with the piped three-button placket and collar. We found the Technical Earl excelled on the most humid, uncomfortable summer days.

It should be noted that the Technical Earl tends to almost move into the “European Cut” territory in the sense that it’s more form fitting and the sleeves are shorter than normal. If you’re sensitive to tight fits, we recommend sizing up.

Original Penguin Bottoms

The Player Pants and Shorts

Original Penguin’s bottoms are always a favorite of ours for good reason. They provide a modern fit that seems to accentuate our assets and their fabric blends are cool and stretchy. The Player Pants and Shorts exhibit these qualities particularly well. They utilize tricot construction, which is a garment weave that produces a smooth feeling, incredibly stretchy fabric.

The Player Shorts in particular vaulted directly to the top of our golf shorts pile, and we found ourselves wearing them every time they’d been laundered. It’s hard to describe just how lightweight and stretchy they are, and the performance material made the dog days of August just a little more bearable. At 9”, we found the Player Shorts to provide ample coverage of the legs, but they still managed to look modern and youthful.

Both the Player Pants ($90) and Shorts ($80) have small details that elevate the experience of owning them. Small Pete the Penguin logos dot the lining of the shorts, while rubber Petes function to hold your shirt in place when it’s tucked. Again, we find ourselves Original Penguin bottoms – do yourself a favor and try them out.

Layering

Performance Earl ¼ Zip

As we approach the time of cooler mornings, a quality ¼ zip becomes a staple of every golf wardrobe. The Performance Earl ¼ Zip ($90) in Bright White is a piece that will quickly become a conversation piece. Its contrasting corded trim provides a place for the eyes to move towards, and the performance is stretchy enough to feel comfortable swinging a golf club. This is a great option down into the 50’s, depending on your tolerance for cool temperatures.

We recommend considering going up a size with the Technical Earl ¼ Zip. While it’s not undersized, it will be much more comfortable for layering purposes and golf in a size larger. For example, a size large worked perfectly for a 6’ tall, 185 pound man.
