At THP, we believe that testing should be done not only by us, but also by the golfers just like you. One of the cool features about being an active member of the THP Forum is that we look to you guys/gals, the consumers, to give feedback on equipment to golfers all around the world. Each month we send out iron sets, drivers, hybrids, putters, trainings aids and golf balls to our active members to be a part of the THP Forum Member testing.
Recently, THP & Ping sent out 4 of the brand new Anser drivers to THP forum members and the equipment is arriving in their hands as we speak. It is their job to play the role of equipment tester and put the driver through the paces and update the readers accordingly with their thoughts. Follow along for another consumer based review and find out what regular golfers just like you think about this interesting piece of equipment.
Enjoying reading the reviews that the tester’s have provided so far. I’m liking the idea of being able to tune the driver to your swing with the many shaft options that Ping provides to it’s customers.
I want to thank THP and Ping for doing this testing! This driver rocks!
From the sounds of it thus far, Ping has a solid driver offering in the Anser – having got to swing this myself over the last few days I was impressed with the few swings I had. Now to go catch up on all the updates!
These reviews have me wanting to give this driver a swing or two or fifteen. A good read so far, and it’ll only get better as these great reviewers get even more accustomed to the Anser.
I’m still not sold on the adjustable driver thing, but I really appreciate PING’s simple approach. Sometimes too many options work against my thought process.
I will be following this one! Enjoying what I see so far on the site.
This is an awesome testing. I can’t wait to read more of the feedback from the testers. Awesome looking driver. Here’s hoping it plays as well as it looks!
I really liked the G20 line….this sounds like a nice progression from it so far
Very informative review. I personally cannot wait to test one out!
I have a g20 driver which is great but I took out the answer driver it is fantastic as soon as I sell my g20 the answer will b in my bag
PING is making some great equipment these days. The Anser line is the addresses the only knock on PING which was no adjustability.
This driver is a beast! I’m hitting 285 yard fades with it. I call it the Stealth Bomber!
Demo’ a lot of drivers this year;, esp. Titleist and a few others with different shaft combos. Was playing a Tour Exotics XCG 10.5. My pro recommended the Anser 10.5 adjustable with the S Blur shaft. Awesome, mid-high flight and much, much lower spin. I picked up a lot of yards and for the first time in years my ball rolls on landing. You must give this driver a try, at least a demo. It’s in my bag now.
4 wood – Exotics Xrail, very versatile if you only carry one FWD
Hybrids – Adams Idea Pro (2, 3,4) , S Aldila Proto By You, very accurate and versatile, can choke down and chip as well
Irons – Bridgestone DPC (4-P), 5.5 Project X flighted, awesome, shall C grind on flanges
GW – Bridgestone satin, 54deg. (bent to 53), TT Spinner shaft, very versatile with SW rounded leading edge (you have to check out the Maltby MPF for these clubs, very high for minimum offset clubs, mid-overisized heads, gorgeous but hard to find
SW – Ping MB 58 deg., custom grind
Putter – midshafted Rossa cavity mallet
