The PING G425 driver just hit the USGA conforming list. You will start to hear news about the product line, mostly the driver as irons won’t be on there, but it will be a full line. To start with, here is what we can say. The G425 driver is made up of three models.
MAX
LST
SFT
The major story for driver will be a re-engineered CG shifter (weight movement) and a larger difference between the three models than the G410. For irons will be HydroPearl Consistency and multimaterial badge for feel.
These products (the full line) will then officially be released in Japan the following week. Shortly thereafter the full line will be released in AUS. They will NOT be released in N. America and PING will have no mention of them on their websites or marketing until embargo late into 2020, with a release date of 2021.
Those countries will have the lines listed on their websites at launch time (for Japan, it will next week and AUS the week after that). Speaking with the company over the last month, they have no official statement on the release currently, but do understand that as items hit the international PING sites, that messaging and images will appear.
Ping standard black are kinda’ upright since they changed about 20 yrs ago
If I decide to buy a set, I’ll go through a fitting to get the right lie angle, unless the black dot clubs work for me already. The lie specs looked close enough to my PXGs that I should be able to get a good comparison.
That’s terrible!!
Ordered and delivered Ping irons within 3 weeks. My guess is that the factory making driver and fwy heads in China is having issues – they are having another Covid breakout for some time now.
And I ordered a Ping 425 5wd about 2 weeks ago …
A lot of emails I’ve been getting lately are saying g410/425 are back in stock. I’m wondering now if it’s more about then sourcing shafts and grips. I know I’ve been on Golf Prides site recently and they are back ordered on many of their grips.
Were those wait times about what you were quoted? I know a guy I got grouped up with recently was fitted in Mizuno Hot Metal’s, He was told 3 weeks and said after 3 weeks he called the shop and its going to be 5-6 weeks total now. He was pretty bummed because he said he would have gone with his #2 in the fitting (TM Stealth’s) which he could have bought off the rack.
Originally Ping said 8-10 weeks on irons. The 7 wood was supposed to be 6 weeks. The local shop has offered me refunds but I decided to wait since I was fitted for Pings. So far I’m very satisfied with results.
725 irons ??? Prerelease ?? Pics. NEED NOW !!
all kidding aside. Assume you mean G710’s right?
I also had a Rapture … V2 I believe. Long, long time ago
i have only ever had one ping club in my bag. The isi tech driver. Didn’t remember the rapture having carbon..
Yes, the Rapture had the shiny carbon fiber top

Ah the V2. When I needed more loft I had the 13.5. It’s still one of the longest drivers I’ve ever owned. Drove a par 4 with it (Only time ever doing so) as well as did an on course test on a hole with some older and current drivers and the V2 had the longest drive of the day.
My iron order went about the same way. Was told 6-8 weeks, they came in 3-4 weeks. (Green dot g425+1/2” power spec with CB shaft).
Finally got to hit them this week in Tucson. Coming off Titleist T100s/T200 combo set, these are totally different but nice. As I get older and a couple knee surgeries later, I thought I’d venture back to a more GI iron. I like the shape and look of these. Playing again today…
The 22 degree was delivered today. It did not have a sticker but seems to have the Arccos sensor already installed.
The grips look different. Looks like I would need to replace the included grips with one that allows installation of the sensor, unless grips are sent as well? If I don’t want to buy new grips initially and just want to test the 4H club that already has the sensor, I wonder how to go about getting the free trial.
PING DRIVER – RH! G425 MAX 10.5* ALTA CB REG FLEX STD LENGTH/GRIP
PING FAIRWAYS – RH! G425 MAX 3,5 WOODS ALTA CB REG FLEX STD LENGTH/GRIP
PING HYBRIDS – RH! G425 19*, 22* ALTA CB REG FLEX STD LENGTH/GRIP
Edit: I found Ping would send a separate sensor that you screw into the butt end of the grip installed on the other four clubs. I like the look of the sensor pre-installed in the grip much better.
Any experience with the app, is it worth the trouble? Thanks

f**k knows what I was going on about LOL. I meant G425’s.
The G425 Max driver just makes golf so much easier. Having never played this course I am usually tentative when hitting tee shots on a new course. My buddy would tell me where to aim and usually it worked out.
Rd 1 – 8/14 FIR – only one tug into the pine straw that I was still able to punch out to in front of the green
Rd 2 – 10/14 – No penal drives.
Didn’t score worth a hoot in rd 1 as I couldn’t hit an iron or wedge off the ground but in rd 2 things clicked and shot a +5 7 with 3 birds.
Really made me think about adding one to my bag but I feel like I might wait to see if they come out with a updated one.
The 425 helped my game a ton last year. I would stand on the tee box and feel like I was gambling on which way it would go. I bought it as a last resort off the shelf and just played with it for half the summer. Devolved a swing that works and now can play any driver put in my hands. One of those if I hit the face…. chances are it is in fairway kind of clubs. Best money have spent to get my scores down and move one to a optimized driver fiting after. If it is a new course I have never played……. yep it goes in the bag, still. Worth every penny.
Step one ball closer and one inside?
(I don’t know bro, but that kind of thing always got my kid out of his head and his miss stopped).
Biggest and brightest suggest would be do that and pull your chest tight? Then address the ball. Pretty easy fix. If I was a PGA Pro that’s what I’d suggest without seeing your swing.
You miss right or left?
Low pull hook the common miss?
And I can’t remember since I haven’t had one i. 3-4 years, is that CHS (wow, you are a mighty chimp, ?, or ball speed-you’re mortal like most of us). If CHS I’ll meet you in the wrong fairway bro, ?.
Only OEM I don’t have a current head for. It performed fine. I just didn’t like it? 400 series, I should try them again but I’ve never felt they were for max CHS guys? I didn’t like the 400 line, and that’s being nice. They just felt wrong at 125 MPH+. (@JDax this is my issue with Dicks, some idiot kid tried to put me into a lighter shaft, I was averaging 126. Sumpin and spinning it 3500k. Is the need there for a lighter or heavier shaft?-once the kid there decided I needed a lighter and less flex? Yeah done with trusting them-here at least). No worries I have someone else that’ll do clubwork. Again I wasn’t insulting you or even 90% of folks @JDax I personally don’t trust every 16 year old HS golfer to care if my Align grips are on correctly? Sorry. I’d trust you? If that helps?
I went shaft crazy this year and I have a lot of one time pulls on Ping Adapters (interesting they were all set for Ping?) So if anyone needs one let me know.
I started finding center when I dropped my trail foot slightly behind. I’m gonna run with it and see if it works.
Its CHS. Strike keeps my ball speeds usually in the mid 150s. I do get the random one that I blast and carry over 300. Usually live around 265-280. That little monitor is usually about 3-5% fast from what I have checked against others. It doesn’t catch ball speed.
Low? What’s low? I’m more of a pitching wedge ball flight kinda guy
Path issue?
On my full speed swings at the end of range session. I drop my trail foot and it corrects. Can’t do it at those speeds. I wish I could.
Just insane ball speeds. Easy to hit and long af. Like for what I planned on using it for, I’ll likely have to choke down to take a few yard off.
It’s not you, it’s the shaft.
Are you considering changing the stock Alta? You have all those other expensive shafts in your fairways… Ventus.
Oh it’s him lol. He’s not a long knocker but he hits it straight as can be most of the time.
The 360 something was way over hill and would
Have been close to a 300 yard shot. Two snap hooks were taken out of my data set. The game is getting easier with these kinda drives. View attachment 9083620
No the stock alta is a great shaft for me. I just don’t have the swing speed to keep up with those guys.
I’m going to take a lesson and see if we can adjust my swing to pick up some upward AOA and see if that will give me a few more yards.
I thought the Alta was decent as a shaft, but I had a TPT Shaft already … nicely whippy at 53g. Yes, the positive AOA will give you more launch and less spin. It’s not difficult to get a positive AOA. Mine is +5-6 and that allows me to adjust down to 9 degrees for more ball speed.
Couldn’t agree with you more on the feel, hard and loud similar to the G410 irons that I had a short lived relationship with. Hit em well but hard feel was a huge turn off. Ended up with a set of Mizuno JPX 921 Hot Metal irons, which feel and sound amazing, light years better than the G410’s. BUT I do love my G425 Max driver, with the right amount of hot melt of course ?
Haven’t gotten the lesson yet, but have been hitting up on the ball more and seeing some distance increase playing having it adjusted down.
Rough day on Saturday only 7/14 FIR, bounced back today with 12/14 FIR. Tempo is king for me to keep the driver in check.
Only played 2 rounds with it, but my goodness its such a game changer.
Just knowing its going where you want it to when you put a good swing on it is such a confidence builder when you’re standing on the tee. Haven’t had that feeling in many years….
I have a set in from globals U Try it program with Alta Cb shafts.
Only a range sesh and 9 holes so far but shot even par which is my best 9 this year. Hit 4-7 GIR with them with one miss being on the fringe. So far very happy with the trial.
Very easy swinging and seem to launch easy. What I noticed most is how the ball seems to just hold its line. Maybe a hint of draw or fade if you call for it but no real egregious hooks or slices.
I’ve been struggling with my iron play this season and these might be in the running to help there.
What shaft did you go with ?
Nice. I went Alta slate too in my set. Didn’t get fitted. Instead did the global golf u try it for two weeks and was sold. Ordered me a 6-UW set.
