If PING is anything as a brand, it’s consistent, especially when it comes to release patterns. So when the G440 lineup of drivers dropped last year with four models, attentive golfers noticed the absence of one familiar head. It was the same omission we saw a year after the G430 drivers launched.
That brings us to today, with PING officially announcing the G440K driver to round out the lineup. While this isn’t a surprise release by any means, it’s one that arrives with plenty of anticipation, particularly from golfers who have historically enjoyed what PING does when it leans hard into forgiveness.
No “10K” in the Name, but the Mission is the Same
You might notice a slight change in naming this time around, specifically, the absence of “10K.” Don’t let that distract you. The name of the game is once again stability and accuracy through MOI. Just how much MOI are we talking? According to PING, the G440K delivers a record-setting level for the brand.
PING G440K Driver

When the PING G430 MAX 10K launched, it wasn’t the first driver to crack the 10,000 MOI barrier. However, what made that driver release a smash success for PING and kept it in the minds and bags of many golfers, was its ability to be so forgiving without also being a high spin machine. It is that combination that broke down many preconceptions that had existed about what 10K drivers had to be, and who could benefit from them.
Since then, we’ve watched more companies chase high-MOI designs while trying to keep speed and spin in a playable window. PING took the extra time with the G440K to get things in order and ensure improvement rather than forcing it out with the initial G440 lineup. And while they aren’t providing specific MOI numbers this time, the claim is straightforward: this is the highest MOI of any adjustable driver PING has ever produced.
Carbon Everywhere, and Weight Moved to the Right Places

A big piece of the story is the Dual Carbonfly Wrap design. Not only is the carbon-wrapped crown seen across the rest of the G440 family here, but PING has also brought a healthy dose of carbon fiber into the sole. Interestingly, the head weight of the G440K is still 203g however, which means much of the weight saved from that carbon sole has been shifted internally to get the CG low, and MOI high.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a PING driver without Turbulators, and they are still here despite being more of an accessory than the aero story they once were.

Along with that is the overall “Aero Shaping” that PING has built into the G440K, working to make this very substantial shape maintains both aerodynamic and visual flow. This is not a small driver, but PING has typically been very successful in keeping larger footprints surprisingly palatable for a wide range of golfers.
PING G440K Face Technology

The same TS9+ face structure that was used in the G430 MAX 10K is present here in the G440K as well. This is a proprietary design from PING that allows the titanium face to be thinner and faster than previous designs from the brand. This face design is all about trying to achieve the best blend of all out performance along with improving consistency in flexion as well as ball speed retention away from center.
PING G440K Adjustability and Sound Improvements
New for the G440K is a 32-gram rear “CG Shifter” weight. Combined with PING’s adjustable hosel, it adds bias tuning options (neutral, fade, draw) to the mix, something a lot of golfers will appreciate given this head’s target audience.

PING also put a clear emphasis on acoustics, using the carbon sole along with composite sole ribs and a crown bridge to dial in sound. Whether that lands as a meaningful improvement will be something we’re particularly interested in hearing and testing, especially given how much sound influences perceived feel.
The Details
The official release date is January 13, 2026. The G440K is a 460cc head offered in 9°, 10°, and 12° lofts (RH/LH).

Stock and listed shaft pairings include the PING Alta CB Blue 65, PING Tour 2.0 Chrome 65/75, PING Tour 2.0 Black 65/75, and—on the G440K HL version—the PING Alta Quick 35/45.
Additional no-upcharge options include the Project X Denali Red 50/60 and Mitsubishi Chemical Tensei 1K Black 65/75.
PING is pricing the G440K driver at $705 MSRP with a street price around $650. For more information on the driver and the full lineup, visit www.ping.com.

Put my 9 degree G440k head to the test yesterday with Ventus Blue TR Velo+ 6TX. Seeing good results. If I can bring the spin down a little more I think this will be my go to this year. Still waiting on my QTD Max though lol. This was with the adapter in flat -1, weight in fade and 4g lead tape forward toe. Going to try a lighter back weight to see if I can take some spin off first.
Might try 6x in same shaft to see if I can pick up a little ball speed. TX is a hair strong for me but the dispersion was really good with my aggressive transition.

The test subject has finally arrived.
Well. If today’s experience is what I can expect to see with this driver and shaft combo, well….I am going to have a fun year. Because of wind patterns and things, today there were only about 4 holes for driver. A 5th makes sense to play the mini, but the rest was really best used for an iron.
Each one went 290+. With two of them over 300. All fairway. All comfortable, didn’t feel like I was chasing. Just…
You know that feel when you are arguing in your head whether or not you can actually get to the group ahead of us, so you back off? And then when you get up to the tee to hit the voice in your head is going “you showed ego, better back it up”. It happened. There is nothing better in the world.

I have similar numbers. So talk to me about the combo with the new tr blue. Did you game the previous version?

I went with the standard playing length of 45.5”. Wanted to start there and can cut down if needed. So far, not needed.

I have gamed old TR Blue previously in Mini and 3 wood but never driver. Still play it in my Mini. So far I am absolutely loving the TR V+. It feels tighter for me and more stable while still having that blue feel. Spin seems to sit between TR Blue and TR Black. I’ve played TR Black in driver in the past as well. I can’t find a shaft this year to beat it out of the bag with any head.
Just got a Quantum TD Max with Powercore White 6TX and compared the two shafts today in that head. TR V+ was better for me in every category. Feel wise they are similar but I was losing a few left with the PC.
Side note: the QTD Max is just too good to ignore and I will most likely be gaming it this year. Seeing 4-5mph more ball speed over G440k with similar dispersion.
Looking forward to test my G440K with this new BB shaft 🏌️♂️

I’m seeing less with this than I did the core model that I reviewed last year. It’s not a high spinner imo. Not low low either; but def not high.
But, that’s with the 9.0 head.

In the G440k with the TR Blue +, I could not move the ball left, it takes a very concentrated effort, especially with the weight moved to fade.

I bought a G440k Monday. Much easier to hit well than my quantum max. Ball flies higher and stays in the air longer. Very nice driver.

Nope.
Today was super rainy, which meant it was a sim day. Felt like as good of a day as any to also start to test the B X with it.
What I’ll say really stood out is that the pairing of the PowerCore white with it has absolutely just elevated this thing. I put it through its paces as I’ve worked through some swing changes. And if I put a halfway decent swing on the thing, it delivers. Now if I’m not managing my weight shift well, that’s another thing but no club will save you from that.
But if I was _cruising_ today over 160 ball speed and not really having to do much, while also turning the ball over well to draw, there’s not a lot else I could need. The shape and thing provides a lot of confidence. The turbulators help me with alignment and can adjust based upon where I’m hitting. I can get feedback.
But for me to sit there at around 270 carry, and a few shots that ran out over 30…that’s something I am going to enjoy playing this year.
Now back to more work on driver swing and weight transition.

Because its so good

Yeah. This is incredible
To finish my thoughts. This pairing with the PowerCore White continues to make me happy. Today I was hovering in the 158+ ball speed range as I’ve been doing some swing work and really using weights in a slower motion to make my path more consistent. Keep my feet closer together and it’s something.
We did a scramble today on the Trackman. A few holes less than driver, a couple MD holes and one 5w. In the 11 driver holes, 9 were fairway. One was fringe. One was just off fringe in the rough. Just super consistent, easy to launch. As long as I remember basically to keep my tempo solid, this thing just does the rest.
It’s definitely cemented as the driver of the season.
I’m playing the same setup, and agree K with power core white is money. I hesitate to call it a lock for the season. I have an appointment with DannyLe in May. Really excited to see what the Quantum Power core combo can do.
I got thee players club membership at my local pga tour superstore this year and have been able to test all of the new drivers, as well as the ai smoke td max I was gaming. It came down to the 440k and gt2 in my testing. They had a mint used gt2 at the store for $350 so I pulled the trigger on it to save some money. It’s a great driver, but after a couple of weeks using it on the sim I started to regret my decision, so I sold the gt2 and bought a 440k. Yesterday, I was able to play my first round of the year since it’s been warmer and all the snow melted. The 440k is the best driver I’ve ever used and I’ve had just about everything from all the big brands. I have never felt so confident over the ball, it just goes dead straight where I aim in the perfect spin/height window every time. Even when I put a below average swing on it, the results were still great. Playing it with a ventus tr blue 6x at 44.5 inches, standard loft at 9 degrees and weight in the heel. I messed with the weight and loft a little bit on the course, and found that set up to work best for me. I have a 1k orange 7s in the shop getting a ping adapter put on, it’s about half an inch longer than the tr blue, I’m excited to see how it performs but will most likely game the tr blue.
Like most of us sickos, I’ll go hit everything. Tuesday nights gives me a big gap between dropping off the girls for dance practice and when I pick them up. So I’ve rotated through a lot of heads in that time.
Over the past few weeks I’ve hit the TM core and LS, the Callaway TD/Td Max/Max, Cobra X and LS, Mizuno One/Select. I’ll probably keep doing so. Full transparency I did buy the Cobra LS as the backup driver because it was the second best of what I hit, but still…
Some of those are absolute rocket launchers. But what they didn’t offer me for my swing was the consistency. Sure, some of those have the ability to bomb the ball longer. But I just don’t see the consistency across the face that I do with the K.
I’m not chasing just distance. I’m chasing the best combo of distance and dispersion, which is a massive departure for me. But what’s amazing to me is that this sits between the LST and the Max. This is a bit slower than the LST. But faster than the max. Less spin than the max. Just keeps the ball in play.
It’s not going to win awards for looks, then again neither will I. But as an ugly putter fan, this club just does what I need it to do way more consistently than anything else I’m hitting. That’s the win.
