This series is for those that want to dive deep into the world of equipment and data.
Range Days is not just about showing the data and the swings. In this episode Dan and James break down each strike and explain why the performance you are seeing is taking place and what to expect out of the equipment you are testing.
How do Mizuno MP 20 irons differ from one another? We break down MB, MMC and HMB all hit with the exact same shaft and share with you the details. If you are looking for the most in depth review on the irons, you have come to the right place.

Curious to see what you think of the HMBs. I have the 4 and 5 in my current set and I will say, they are fantastic.
Hope you all enjoy!
Enjoyed JMan’s analysis throughout; his viewpoint is a big plus for the series. Finally, Canadan when are you getting the blades?? Wow those were striped
His blade prowess is SO annoying.
A random thought as it relates to the HMB. Having played the Apex Pro 19 irons all of last season, I will say that the HMBs have a very similar sound/feel through the strike zone. A really nice firm, hot feel with solid launch and not crazy low spin.
PS: Great job on this video guys….think it will get a lot of love from the Mizzy die hards and hopefuls.
They actually spin better in my time owning both sets. Which makes sense as that’s part of what Mizuno wanted to accomplish, finding that sweet spot.
I really appreciate the talk that these include. Going into the details, and what happens when you hit it on the toe, heel, low, high, etc. The knowledge I’m getting from these videos is really something I need more of, because it’s not something I’m really familiar with. Also love that these Mizuno’s performed as well as they look! Thanks guys!
Really glad you enjoyed the convo!
Mizuno is one of my fav companies to work with. If I was ever going to be a brand homer. It would be Mizuno.
One question though: Which phone system did you steal the on hold music from to play over Dan’s hitting segments? ?
Thank you!
The consistency between sets is mind blowing!
I really should own them after that.
The profile, swing weight.. everything… was just – perfect.
This one was really fun to record. I’m so impressed with how Mizuno has managed to create a blend profile between these heads, which have their own tech story.
So annoying with MB’s in his hands
Don’t sell yourself short, they’re a surprisingly forgiving iron for the style!
can’t wait for your thoughts.
Yeah. It’s like we said, it’s a case of a practically perfect setup for a guy. He needs MB’s.
ugh stopppppppp
Bigger for me was the other two were not wildly low either. They’ve engineered a set with a really nice sweet spot there.
He’s a stud.
This was truly informative and great production comparison over the previous these seem to be much better for for you in the MB than UHX. The spin was higher and you sure did enjoy the irons.
Looking forward to more discussions.
HMB are pretty amazing
I get it. People love them. Dan’s dispersion with them was excellent. I just prefer the other two in the lineup.
I was SO on board with making HMB the mainstay, but man.. those MBs..
Seems like this would do just fine then.
JoshB. Stop it.
I mean. You need them.
As we saw in the video, these combo well.
I think this is a set you’d almost HAVE to combo if rocking MBs in the short irons.
Question is, where does it progress, how many heads are involved, and does it end with an HMB or a Hot Metal Pro?
HMB 6-5
HMP 4
Man, that’s what I loved talking about in the video, the variety of options are immense.
This Range Days I watched on YouTube and found that to be a better way to consume the content… Well done.
@Canadan – Are you ever going to hit an iron that you don’t like on future installments?
there are some I very much did not get along with. Some that we would have done well to bend upright for me, but didn’t think of it at the time – and when you take 5-8 swings with something and move away from it, things flow very quickly.
