Red Rooster Golf built its name around one of the most overlooked pieces of equipment in the game. The company was founded by longtime friends Kerry Moher and Brad Fritsch after a trip to Pinehurst exposed the condition of Moher’s golf glove. Fritsch, a former PGA Tour player, understood how much a fresh, properly fitted glove could affect feel and confidence. That conversation eventually led to Red Rooster launching in 2021 through a successful Kickstarter campaign that reached its funding goal in less than 24 hours.
Gloves remain at the center of the brand, but Red Rooster has gradually expanded into accessories and apparel. The Flock represents its latest move in that direction, offering golfers a traditional performance polo at an approachable $49 price.
The Flock
The collection consists of four colorways. The Ghost uses a white camouflage pattern, while The Classic combines a black body with a contrasting white collar and placket. The Commodore and The Augusta introduce horizontal stripes in navy and forest green, respectively. Each shirt includes an embroidered Red Rooster logo on the chest, along with “Wake Up Your Game” tape inside the collar.

Red Rooster describes The Flock as being “built for the swing, not just the clubhouse.” The shirts use a stretchy performance fabric with moisture-wicking properties and UV protection. They also feature a three-button placket, a traditional polo collar and an athletic cut intended to move with the golfer.
The Fit
After seeing and handling the shirts in person, the athletic fit deserves more attention than the usual product-page disclaimer. They are form-fitting through the chest and shoulders, have relatively short sleeves and offer less room through the midsection than many mainstream golf shirts featuring a classic “North American fit”. Red Rooster recommends ordering one size larger than normal, and that recommendation is accurate. For reference, the Flock in size L is almost identical to many popular brands’ size M. Golfers who already prefer a trim, athletic silhouette will definitely appreciate the cut.

The fabric delivers what most golfers will expect from a performance polo at this price. There is plenty of stretch, and the material allows for easy movement during the swing. It has a medium weight rather than the thin, airy construction found in some shirts. The hand feel is fairly typical of this category, with a slightly textured finish and medium softness.
The collar is somewhat oversized and squared off, and doesn’t have a bunch of internal structure to make it feel stiff. It did, however, come through washing and drying without any obvious issues, leaving it wearable and presentable after laundering.

Of the four designs, The Ghost may be the most difficult to judge from the website. Its white camouflage pattern is subtle in product images but becomes much easier to see in person. The execution is clean and adds some depth to an otherwise all-white polo.
The striped options offer a more traditional alternative, while The Classic is an interesting throwback. All four share the same fabric, cut and general construction, so the buying decision will largely come down to personal style.
Our Take
The Flock gives Red Rooster customers a more accessible way to bring the brand into their golf wardrobe. The fabric has plenty of stretch, the athletic cut creates a trim look, and the four colorways offer a mix of traditional and more distinctive options.
Fit will be the biggest consideration. These shirts run notably slim through the chest, shoulders and midsection, so Red Rooster’s recommendation to order one size up is worth following. The collar is a little larger and less structured than some golfers may prefer, but it handled washing and drying without issue.

The small details help give the collection some personality. The embroidered chest logo is clean, the interior “Wake Up Your Game” tape is a nice touch, and The Ghost’s white camouflage pattern is more visible and better defined in person than it appears online.
At $49, The Flock feels appropriately positioned. It offers the stretch, moisture management and UV protection golfers expect from a modern performance polo, while giving fans of Red Rooster an easy way to enjoy the brand beyond its gloves.

Seems like a really good shirt for the price. The sizing and running small might be tough for guys built like me though. I like the camo pattern a lot.
Pricing is great. Not sure I’m in love with the designs. Contrasting collars can sometimes be too much imo. It seems they went all in on them as each polo has a contrasting collar.
Pricing is great. I like the color combinations. The athletic cut and running small likely isn’t going to work for me as nobody would describe me as “athletic” or anywhere near needing an athletic cut shirt.
Ghost shirt is my favorite out of all of these. I’d love to know the materials it’s made of though.

Haha while it may seem that way. I’ve always been a nutrition label. Clothing tag reader kind of person 😂
I am half asleep and read the title as Red Lobster. I was confused as to why Hawk was writing an article on Red Lobster apparel.

Nice looking material, great price, boring designs.
I like they way they look – but generally, once I see “athletic fit,” I know they’re not for me. :ROFLMAO:
I love that they entered this space with that kind of pricing

I am LOVING the Classic and the Ghost. I’m the FARTHEST thing from a Stripe guy, but I received the Augusta and the Commodore
Athletic fit is pretty accurate. I'm not sure if I would personally say to size up though. But I like the athletic fit and very much dislike super roomy polos. I went medium and it fit pretty standard for how I'd want a medium to fit.
Material has been a big thing for me, and while most companies do it well, some can do it wrong. Red Rooster has these right. I'll be playing in it tonight for the first time but wearing it to work leaves me with no worries how it will hold up. Something I've noticed with certain brands, the stitching around the shoulder can be really restrictive, especially on a hot/sweaty day. I'll be paying attention to that a lot tonight.
RR stating that the logo is embroidered though…not sure how they define that word. It's a raised rubber logo both on the front and the back. Think the Greyson Wolf on their clothing if you have seen any of that. Or a Redvanly logo on their apparel. I'll include pictures below.
Overall, the Stripes are not for me at all and I'm quite jealous of the Classic and Ghost, but for those who like stripes, while simple, they do look good. Early impression on the shirt overall is high and I'm excited to play in it and add more here
Nice pics Muchy. I actually think I prefer the stripes lol. I’d trade, but I don’t think they’ll fit.

Damn I just saw this. What size did you get? I have mediums and I do think they are smaller than other brands so probably not yeah?
Got the green out on course today. Big fan of how unrestrictive the material is, especially around where the torso meets the sleeves. Seams there have been an issue for me with some brands in the past.
It’s definitely a more athletic fit but I am a big fan of it. The more boxy fits frustrate me to no end (hey Greyson)
The collar is something I want to point out though. It’s structured but so flexible where it doesn’t feel like it’s keeping my head or neck in place from how rigid it is. I hate those kind of collars too. This may be my favorite collar on any shirt I’ve worn this year. It’s like it isn’t there from a feel perspective and I LOVE that.
Still am not a fan of stripes. The other patterns would be my go to every single time. I feel like stripes are super limiting in other apparel I’d wear. Overall that’s just a pattern dislike and nothing to do with the actual shirt. The polo itself is fantastic

I was shocked at the quality for the price! I’ll probably grab the black and white polos at some point!

I can’t get over how much I love the collar. I was hanging it up last night after it was washed and wish every collar could be like that.

I’m guessing they hold their form well without being super rigid?

Zero rigidity at all. Thin and flexible when movement is needed but it holds form and looks perfect when you need it to. Can hardly even tell I’m wearing a collared shirt

Love that! I can’t stand when my collar is very floppy. Just looks off to me. On the flip side of that it’s really easy to get too rigid in the collar to where it’s in the way.
Sounds like they found a good middle ground. Like you said I don’t want to realize I’m even wearing a collar until I see it.
Actually went to grab the Ghost today and it was out of stock in my size. That’s such a bummer. I’m REALLY liking the polos, just not the pattern so was going to get one of the good ones.
Anyone else here try these yet?
I’m really interested in seeing what some of my fellow husky fellas think lol
