When it comes to forum testing, no one does it like THP. Not only do we believe that testing should be done not only by our staff of writers, but also the active members of the best golf community on the internet. It has been that way since day one and remains part of the foundation for what THP is. Because of that, there are always new opportunities around the corner, giving you the opportunity to have your voice heard.

Recently members of our community have completed one of those eight week product testing opportunities in which five forum members and one staff writer received a new Kinetixx Hypersonic driver shaft of their chosen flex and built (adapter, grip, and playing length) for their specific clubhead. Within the group, every flex option was reviewed, covering the breadth of swing speeds. Throughout their testing the group documented their experiences on the THP Community for all to read, if you haven’t checked that thread out already, it can be found here.
If you have previously followed this testing or are diving into the link above to check it out, you will see that nobody out there does community based testing like THP does. Our testers put the Hypersonic through its paces, but rather than take our word for it, we asked each reviewer to give us a quick hitter of what they saw throughout the eight week process.
KINETIXX HYPERSONIC – D10
As a self-professed shaft neophyte, I had no idea how much a driver shaft could affect not only my ball flight, but my overall game as well. With the Kinetixx Hypersonic D10, I saw how a shaft can affect the vertical trajectory and downrange direction that the golf ball travels. As an older, slower swinging player, hitting the ball higher, farther and straighter definitely isn’t a bad thing.

I have been fit for drivers officially (via certified fitters) four times. Not once did they delve into the high-end shafts, why? Because they suggested that my swing speed did not warrant it, that they would not be a decent fit, and that I would not benefit from the added cost. As a result, I self-fit (unsuccessfully), trying an array of shafts of different vintages, brands and flexes. I would occasionally have minor improvement, but it would be short lived. Enter this testing opportunity where I tested the Kinetixx Hypersonic D20 shaft and had almost immediate success both in added distance and improved accuracy.

After a few months of testing the driver shaft, I can say confidently that I know where the ball will go and that if I make a decent strike it will be as far or farther than any shaft I have used at this stage of my life (old guy with slowing/slower swing). The results are almost always as expected, in the short grass in close proximity to where I aim.

KINETIXX HYPERSONIC – D30
The Kinetixx Hypersonic driver shaft was honestly a great fit for me. I saw a higher yet more penetrating ball flight, additional distance, and tighter dispersion overall when compared to my previous driver shaft.

After a few months of testing it became clear that Kinetixx makes a quality product right at the top of the golf shaft hierarchy. Nobody does the fit and finish better on shafts. The Hypersonic is a uniquely explosive profile which can really work to maximize certain swing characteristics. I’ve never previously played, nor tested, a shaft which proved this so quickly and dramatically. It instantly launched my drives to heights (literally) I’ve never seen before with my driver.

The Kinetixx Hypersonic can really break your brain if you let it. It feels lighter than it is and gives the impression it’s going to be extremely active, but that initial flexibility almost gets tighter the more you put into it. It has a very even load profile that doesn’t feel out of control with aggressive moves, and it builds and releases energy with ease. A shaft with great feel and a noticeably good build quality for anyone looking for a smooth swinging and easy launching experience.

The Hypersonic continues the tradition of unique feeling Kinetixx driver shafts in which the feedback you think you are getting, doesn’t really tell you the entire picture until you see the ball flight. No one does energy efficiency quite like Kinetixx and this is another example of that. While it doesn’t yield the overly active feel that the Velocity does, it remains a unique experience. Even as an ultralight design, the Hypersonic takes everything you can throw at it and seems to just get tighter downrange as you do it.

Earlier this year, Kinetixx launched their new website and it features, not only a quick way to shop, but also a way to get fit online. Have you tried it out? Take it for a spin and let us know your thoughts. Head over to www.kinetixxgolf.com for more information and click on the fitting tool.
