In 2022 THP brought the story that Sacks Parente, manufacturer of fine “putting instruments”, was branching out with the acquisition of their own stateside golf shaft manufacturing company. A major part of that was to control the manufacturing and tolerances of their proprietary ULBP (Ultra Low Balance Point) putter shafts, but it was also with the goal of establishing what would eventually become Newton Golf.

Since then, Newton Golf has found a bit of a stride, with significant play and successes on the PGA Tour Champions. The shaft designs have been met with positive reviews, including here on THP. Within that, Newton Golf has also become a more modern brand, with some flash to back up its substance through bright colors and intriguing storytelling. That momentum is what has also led to a bit of brand restructuring.
Moving forward, both the putter and shaft divisions will fall underneath the umbrella of NEWTON GOLF, which will be subtitled “A Sacks Parente Company”. Additionally, the putter branch will now be called “Newton Gravity”, don’t worry though, they will still be showcasing their ULBP technology, though there will soon be five new putters.
There are two big reasons for this move. First, it brings an alignment of the core values of Sacks Parente with emphasis on the principles of physics which the brand was founded on. Secondly, they believe it will allow for the creation of a modern, yet timeless, blend which is focused on living up to its namesake through the creation of equipment that works smarter, not harder, for all golfers.
Moving forward, all the NEWTON GOLF products will be proudly made in the U.S., with putters manufactured in Camarillo, California, and the Motion Shafts hand-crafted in St. Joseph, Missouri.
More info on all the NEWTON GOLF products can be found on www.newtongolfco.com.
Interesting idea, but one that I think makes some sense.
I like the rebrand. However, not that anyone asked, but I personally would remove the “Not Harder” from the tag line. “Newton Golf. Play Smarter” get a the message across, removes the negative thought, and just seems cleaner to me overall.
Seems like the new page lost a little detail on the shafts. Always interested to see new putters!
Interested to see where they take it. I think the shaft was a good first offering.
Website looks pretty nice.
Not really feeling the branding, but maybe I’m missing something.
Still roll my sacks putting instrument on occasion… Wish it were softer, but a fun club
Not a fan of the motto. Seems overused by so many groups. Good start on the website tho
The name change makes sense, not sure I like the branding.
As many others have said already, name change ? . Branding is meh for me, but hopefully as they progress further they’ll get that ironed out as well. When THP brought the info on the 66 putter I was smitten with the look. Wish them success!
I am glad that they decided to sort of consolidate. Goldwin Golf’s AVDP system changed my golf game entirely. I had been a picker almost exclusively until then. Not sure what (or why) but after bagging a set of their irons 3-10 and later added a 2 iron, the game changed for the better. So anyway, fewer names more clarity, and the Newton shaft I have used most of this season has also helped.
Like others not enamored with ‘slogan’ but that can change as well.
I can’t see a possible scenario where they can remain solvent. Raise $10 million by selling stock, burn through $5 million each year on a bunch of big salaries…to generate $350 thousand in total sales.
An IPO of 3.2 million shares at $4, shoots up over 600% first day and two days later it’s at about $2.00. They were probably worth more than Callaway on paper for a few hours. Somebody made a boatload that day.

You’re hired. Much better.
But still not overall fan of the new name. Sounds basic.
Name change makes a lot of sense. Sacks Parente sounds like an accounting firm not a golf company.

This! Last thing I read about Sacks Parente was a filing saying they did not know if they would have enough cash to continue operations. Now they buy another company? Also, not a fan of the look of the new putter line.

They founded Newton, but bought the manufacturing facility.
Also, it happened some time ago.
