Balance and pressure. Two common words used in the game of golf, yet in different ways for different people. To some it means staying within one’s self and handling the mental side of the game. To others, it brings in the physical side and how it can make you a better golfer. Enter Salted Smart Insoles for Golf bringing to market a simple (not really) tool that will help you better understand what is happening and even how to fix it.
The Salted Smart Insoles for Golf are exactly what they sound like. Insole replacements for your shoes that in our experience offered more comfort than what was in there to begin with. Sliding them in was a breeze and putting them on you get a level of excitement about what you are about to find out about your own game. Before we get to that part, let’s start at the beginning.
What are the Salted Smart Insoles for Golf? Soft insoles that feature plenty of cushion for comfort, yet uses bluetooth technology to connect to an app on your smart phone where it is measuring a ton of data while you practice or play. As a golfer that has struggled with balance and posture this almost seemed too good to be true, and when the package arrived I could not wait to rip it open.
In hand, the insoles feel similar to most others you would find out in the wild. The instructions tell you to download the Salted app for Golf on your iOs or Android device which took all of 10 seconds and follow the instructions. Pairing the devices with the phone is a breeze. The mobile app asks you to turn the Salted Smart Insoles for Golf over and it will recognize and connect. It handled both in a matter of seconds one after the other and we were off and running.
Before throwing them in my shoes, I should add that you will want to charge them. Yes you read that right, you are going to charge your insoles. Salted includes a nifty charger cable that is USB and charges both insoles at at the same time. It uses a rather strong magnet and locks into place across the ring on the product, and the mobile app monitors the battery life. The same section offers an on and off switch to toggle before entering “wash mode” or for flying.
Once you are all charged up, you need to set up an account with the mobile app. This involves logging in with a social media account or email. Adding a birth date as well as answering some simple questions about your goals with the Salted Smart Insoles for Golf.
Calibration is up next and involves you having the insoles in your shoes and you wearing them. You lift one foot up off the ground for a couple of seconds, then the second one and you are good to go. The Salted mobile app recommends doing this periodically. The entire process above took 2 minutes or less and was simple to understand and follow.
Now the fun begins. The above image shoes one of the tests being done as the insoles measure the pressure map while putting. As you can see from the app screen shot, I have a lot of pressure on my right foot and where my body is centered is shifted towards the right as well. There are a myriad of different tests you can do such as the one shown, balance and many more. I’m not sure why it surprised us so much, but they all work flawlessly.
The mobile app offers so much in the way of personal assistance that it is overwhelming at first, but the simple layout is very helpful and easy to understand.
It would be one thing to receive the data, but without help in how to fix it, the Salted Smart Insoles for Golf would not be of much assistance. The image below is showing off just a couple of the screen options to not only better understand where you should be ideally for your own game, but how to improve. From drills to work on balance and pressure, to swing video comparisons with some of the best players in the world, it is all available right in your mobile device.
In using the insoles for a bit now we can confidently discuss a few things.
First, they are quite comfortable. With that said, choose your size accordingly and do not get frustrated as they can be trimmed to fit your shoes rather easily. After all, without the comfort side of things, you won’t want to use them. Once installed we have not had a single connection failure or mobile app issue. In fact, it is rather shocking how well they are working and the feedback is not only fast, it is helpful.
Second, be prepared to want to fix everything you learn about. The app offers a lot of insight and help, and with some practice you will find yourself making improvements.
Third, this is not just a balance or putting app. Pressure, tempo, and a whole lot more can be keys to unlock distance and consistency and the Salted Insoles for Golf library offers a lot to work on those items. You will choose the task and it will tailor the drills to assist.
We have just barely scratched the surface on what Salted has available, and plan on a number of things coming up to help you better understand this very in depth product. For more information check out their website at www.salted.shop.

As far as just seeing how your feet are shifting from slope and stuff? It seems like not quite the ROI for it but if it helped you, sure. I think a digital level would be more effective and way less though
This will be fun, screen shot of the putter practice session and what I thought neutral was.
That’s amazing! Are you able to see what your full swings look like with them?
This review gives a good deal of details on how it all works. Looking forward to setting up video
I figited around in them and it follows the pressure really well. Was going to try and get to the range and see full swings in action but as of now just practiced putting.
Here is a vid of a swing and a comparison swing. I’m so excited to use this more and more. seriously giddy!

This is so super cool. You can download and compare to multiple pros from Asia and then see how far off you are from a professional swing!
Took a couple of screen shots 1. showing top of back screen and 2. At impact, showing your weight in those two positions.

At impact you are almost the same as the Pro
I think there will be so much opportunities available with these things….insane!
Really thinking that if I could control my balance better, I could really have a great golf season this next year.
Wow! That is WAY cool, @jmix18! In addition to the weight illustrations, the most noticeable thing to me was the timing difference in transition. Great comparison videos to learn from. Hope these work well for you. I will be following along!
I really like watching the vids. Reminds me of watching film back in the day on the gridiron and watching all that you did. The comparison is fun as well. Hopefully it all helps.
Have not set up and used video yet. Will be doing so pretty soon. What I did discover was something you touched on. That was hanging back on putter swing. I knew I had an issue with putter stroke due to adding a considerable amount of lift thru the stroke. Confirmed by blast. Then insoles arrive and boom. It’s clear as day. What I thought was even weight distribution between both feet was not. So thanks to a couple great products I’m now on the way to a new and improved putting stroke.
Very good stuff here jmix! I thought the video you posted looked fairly similar to the pro (probably more than you did) but what jumped out to me was your pressure being in the toes of both feet more/longer than the pro.
Do you think practicing a slow motion swing would provide any different feedback or help that transition?
I just got my pair, so I’m excited to try them out. No place to hit actual balls yet at home other than the putter.
Only drawback right now is the battery/charging. Went to use them the other night and one insole was dead while the other was at 85%. So charged them and then the other insole was dead…. Charged quickly again thinking it might be a misread and it came back 100%. So right now I feel they’re a crapshoot iron charge if you don’t use them regularly.
Really like the compare feature. First video was earlier tonight. After a bit of analysis regarding weight shift and Center of Gravity… I made some adjustments and thus the 2nd video (which is more like the pro). I do realize that my turn, arm height, follow through, etc… is a bit stiff.

You’re going to love them. My wife thinks I’m obsessed with them already…. Truly do love watching the video playback of each swing and then making corrections.
That happened the first time for me as well. Needed to make sure they were fully charged – waiting 2 hours sucks… but once they were fully charged the calibration worked. I also make sure in turn them off after each time I use them. Still have to charge them a bit before I use them but it seems to work better that way.
how do you turn them off? Lol
Never mind figured it out.
These are kinda crazy . Did some of the putting and it seemed I could never get to 50/50. I think I need to calibrate again. Just to make sure. But these are already super cool.. looking forward to the full swing practice.
They get addicting. Best part is when you start to swing with video and use the comparison tool.
hoping for a good year of golf. I have enough training tool now to open my own school. Haha
That’s my plan. Just started Stack today. Once I get going, will put these into play as well.
Will def be curious to read your experience and if the insoles help you identify ways to increase speed more efficiently.
I sent an email to the only email address I could find on the website (Andy Lerch) so now I await a response. Any other ways to get assistance from salted?
That’s strange. No issues on our end setting up account.
that was the easy part. It was getting them to calibrate that was my only challenge.
I agree, everything I read on here made the whole process seem like a breeze. And it’s not like I’ve never used a
computer(phone app) before either. I mean, I could try it with one of my burner email accounts, but I’d rather have it associated with my proper email address.Just for kicks I tried creating an account using my work email; I’m wondering if they are having an issue on their side because I didn’t get a verification message for that one either. These do work in Canada, don’t they?
Agreed, everything I read on here indicated they were pretty much foolproof, as long as you remembered to charge them. It’s not like I can go outside to hit balls anyway, but I could do some putting practice with them.
I had to look through junk mail to find the verification email, then it took me to the Korean site once I hit verify.
I checked there also, but now that I am looking deeper into my settings it appears that my account was set to delete messages flagged as spam. I did find the one for my work email in quarantine and managed to release it. Thanks for the reminder!
Keep an eye out for a serious deal in the BST thread!
EDIT: I found the problem – despite having ordered the small size (6.5-7.5 men) it appears they sent me a larger size (11-12).
A while back I purchased The Stack system as well as the Salted Insoles. I started working on my swing with the Salted Insoles during separate practice sessions in my garage. As I began to swing better, which I believe has to do with working on my balance and weight transfer with the insoles, I thought it would be a benefit combining the Insoles with some Stack workouts.
And I have to say, while I don’t have specific statistical data, I can tell you that I feel the combo together seems to help my swing overall. I really focus to make sure I’m balanced starting the swing and then working on the transfer of weight to the correct areas in each Stack swing. I’ve seen some better, more controlled, and quicker swings using both. That data shows a significant distance increase.
So just wanted to share the combo. (Please excuse the mess in the garage and sim area. and grit score is lower than I’d like due to being away for work and sick lately.)

Ummm… YEAH!
Hoping to hear more from some THP users as to best way to record and train with these. The software has been a bit difficult for me to try and record.
There is quite a bit in this thread that includes our initial review.
Love it!! Can’t wait to hear what others have to say. These things are eye opening. Waiting for the app update to try the green reading capability. That will be fun.
