Off Course is back this week with a fantastic show. Hosted by Dan Edwards, each Friday he gives you a deep look into the world of golf and equipment in a way unlike any other podcast has done before. Today Odyssey GM and industry icon and Sean Toulon joins the conversation to talk about putters and taking a deep dive like never before.
It wouldn’t be Off Course without some tangents, but Dan and Sean discuss everything from being the number one putter in golf to getting an inside look at Odyssey Small Batch. This show has a lot going on and is one you will not want to miss as Sean Toulon goes Off Course.

Episode 119 is here and Dan and Sean discuss the following topics.
Being the #1 putter in golf
Managing maximum options for golfers
Understanding the Toulon face milling
How the Garage has evolved
Getting an inside look on the Odyssey Small Batch
And so much more

Great epidsode! Sean seems like such a passionate guy.
This discussion of Toulon Garage materials, small batch banter, and collaborations is really good.
Going to throw this one on once the kids are asleep.
I have a few other episodes to catch up on too, but luckily for me I have nearly 8 hours of driving to do next Sunday and plan to listen to them all then.

God I cannot wait to listen to this.
As a fitter, I absolutely love putter fittings. One of my most favorite things to do in all of golf!
can’t wait to listen to Sean talk about it more!

I think it is the most important piece to get fit on, even the ball.

Okay I got to The Garage portion of the pod and you only mentioned missing out on the long neck Small Batch. Please tell me there’s more @Canadan …

Just wait until you get to the part where I tell him where my gamer came from ?

I’ve had a couple really bad experiences with putter fittings. It was kind of like the old method of just watching that Canadan described. I really like my putter and think I stroke it well but at the same time I can’t help but want a SAM Lab fitting. Anything to drop my average putts below 34.

I think the problem with putter fittings, moreso than even just club fittings in general, is that we are SO stuck in our ways that it is brutally challenging to break from them. You have to pretty much give up what you’ve locked in as your reality to support a true fit.
It’s even more challenging when the shape/neck/alignment changes just like that. For me, it was SAM. I can’t argue what the statistics show me, which were VERY tight and obvious.

I’m new enough to golf and gone through enough putters in a short time that I don’t think it’ll be too hard to switch up my reality. I’ve even tried the Toe Up putter. It’s been about choosing between short/mid range and long range lag putting. I just figure if we don’t have to make such a big compromise with other clubs maybe I’m stuck a little in the past. One good thing from trying so many putters is I finally know what I like to feel now.
Just putting this on. can’t wait to hear it!
Great listen. Sean has so much knowledge and is really great to listen to. It was interesting to me about working with tuning the sound of the putter to not sound too soft for the speed off the face. Lots of great stuff in this episode. Thanks!
great listen (as always). Really cool to listen to Sean. The Toulon Garage feels like this mythical place haha.
Cool discussion on audio/feel with the putter. So interesting how our brains connect things like that.
also an interesting listen right after I went through a putter fitting.Having that hard data is so key but also working with someone who knows what they’re looking for.

I may or may not be building a garage Atlanta right now

Dude, still bummed we didn’t get to meet yet in person as that’s the Toulon I would go with. Our club choices are so eerily similiar ?
Man, between the chemistry of the banter, the tech talk, and the passion, this was a great episode.
Hearing Sean talk about marrying the details of the engineering for performance/sound/etc. with the need for the proper design aesthetics was awesome. Made me wonder if I am mis-using my engineering degree…
We are so lucky to hear a master at his craft talk that freely for that long.
Fantastic episode! It was really cool to listen to Sean talk about their success and new innovation coming! Mrs Doubleb had her first listen to off course also on the way up to watch me get whipped by @MSEASU lol. She gave you two thumbs up @Canadan.

Love the refined shape of the Le Mans Tour! I’d game the Le Mans Tour DB with no alignment aides in a heartbea!

I like this one a lot. Definitely getting some inspiration from the recent knuckle neck Cameron’s that are getting popular.
