How many times have you laid awake the night before your round, anticipating and planning out each shot? Shot Scope, the industry leader in shot tracking technology, is introducing a new app feature called MyStrategy that might make your planning a little more effective. This feature is accessible through the Shot Scope mobile app for both iOS and Android, as well as the company’s web dashboard. MyStrategy allows golfers to sync their game performance stats with any new course they are playing and receive advanced insights on how to play each hole from tee to green. This feature is compatible with all Shot Scope’s performance-tracking GPS rangefinders and smartwatches.

Building a gameplan using MyStrategy is probably easiest using the Shot Scope Dashboard on a laptop. It enables golfers to analyze their statistics and plan their strategies for each hole, helping them identify the best clubs and aiming points to work their way around the course. The feature offers various insights, such as dispersion, tendency, shots plotted, and adjustments for factors like wind and elevation. It also provides statistics for individual clubs based on tee shot results and lie, ensuring maximum accuracy.

David Hunter, the CEO of Shot Scope, highlights the importance of this feature for golfers, emphasizing its availability across all Shot Scope game tracking products. MyStrategy enhances golfers’ ability to improve their performance on any course by allowing them to make data-driven decisions.
“Any golfer can now go online and look at a course and hole layout, but with the MyStrategy feature our millions of Shot Scope golfers can actually match their performance stats with each hole and truly build a game plan ahead of a round,” said David Hunter, CEO, Shot Scope. “This insight is invaluable for competitive tournament players, or golfers playing a new course for the first time.”

Once on the course, the mobile app allows users to access MyStrategy, providing instant insight on each hole. This should take the guesswork out of club selection, which can be very tricky the first time or two around a golf course.
This new feature comes after Shot Scope introduced several innovations in 2023, such as the PRO LX+ Rangefinder, X5 Golf Watch, and CONNEX performance tracking tags. The company aims to provide golfers with a comprehensive ecosystem of distance measuring and performance tracking products to cater to various playing styles and budgets. The PRO LX+ is a 3-in-1 system that combines advanced distance measuring technology with performance tracking, streamlining the on-course experience for golfers. Shot Scope offers free updates and does not require additional costs or subscriptions for their products.

I am so in on this.
If it works as designed (I have not tried it yet), the ability to do this is perfect for planning.
This might be the coolest thing I’ve seen from them and they have a lot of awesome stuff.
Love it for our theorycrafters.
Very interesting. Looking forward to checking this feature out in detail!
This is such a great idea
Looks cool, almost like a Shotscope version of Decade
Well well!!! Call me excited about this! Time to charge up my X5 and head to course.
This will be worth checking out for sure.
I saw this on the app the other day. I will have to get a number of rounds under my belt for this to work to my advantage
This is amazing and I can’t wait to play around with it. I do this all the time now in a roundabout way. The ability to have my performance overlaid is going to be life changing not just for new courses but also honing in strategies as I improve my game.
Oh man… That is a cool little thing right there. If it tells me to layup on anything, I’ll delete that app so fast
Just played around with this on the dashboard, so cool!!
Data Experience is going. to be awesome

I’m interested to play around with this. Wondering what the investment time wise for the golfer is.
I would also assume that using the app in a competitive round would be a no no, right?
This is such a cool feature. It will be interesting to play around with it during the off season.
@JB and I were both both wishing this was live a few days earlier. Would have been very cool to have at Briggs Ranch.
Just fooling around with it and it is really fascinating! You can factor in wind conditions based on the forecast and plan accordingly! You can see your plotted shots, if you have played the course before and wish to do so. One thing I haven’t figured out is how to utilize the dispersion aspect for approach shots.
Great write-up @Hawk! This is an awesome addition to the dashboard, and makes me want to give the X5 another chance.
This. Is. Awesome!
I only clicked around for a little bit but it’s just like how I use google earth to check out course plans but so much better!
This is amazing, love that the basic view shows you the dispersion of the club you selected, that you can toggle on and off the shots plotted as well as your shot tendencies, and it will give you distances with elevation taken into account. This is huge for planning on all courses but especially ones you haven’t seen, or on those holes that you struggle on regularly.
Love how the shot tendency moves the dispersion for my driver just a touch more left than evenly split.
Wow, that is a very cool sounding addition!
Can’t wait to give it a try!
Thanks for the deets @Hawk
This sounds amazing.

It’s not a perfect solution, but if you can drag and drop the blue starting point to a place in the fairway and then select your approach club and move you end target over the green.
I’m wondering to, if anyone is like me. I have a hole or 2 at each course I play regularly that just has my number. No matter what I try, still end of with a big number on the scorecards. I’d be curious to look at this feature and how it plays on these difficult holes. Maybe I’ve already tried it, but what does it show me as the best option to finally figure it out?

100 % have this at the course I regularly play and can’t wait to look this up.

Part of it’s mental, I’m sure. So I wonder if I just trust what the data is telling me, it might help out too. Either way, can’t wait to test it out!
Very cool feature. Season is basically over right meow but I’ll mess around with it before the new season starts up.

Think this might be helpful in the rounds your going to play in a couple of weeks:

I just checked it out with the course I will play in Fla Jan, That is awesome. I will have to dive deep later on.

I’m struggling a little bit after I choose my tee club.
How do I get to accept that club and move to the next club?

I love this! Time to see if my course management is actually correct or not. This will be extremely helpful for new courses!
This is awesome!

It seems like it’s only designed to show one club at a time, not a progression of shots. So once you have your tee shot mapped out, you could close that shot and drag and drop the blue start point ot the spot in the fairway you want to figure your next shot from and select the appropriate club.
This is such an awesome feature. I’m flying out to play at @Browndog home course this weekend so I’m gonna give this a good test
I cannot wait to use them. So cool.

I would say that we use the app beforehand to plan out the strategy and then see how close you were to executing it after the round.
This has my mind racing for something fun for the forum, but I’m on winter break so it wouldn’t even exist until next spring.
One issues I have found is that the average distances for my clubs in My Strategy aren’t anywhere close to what Shot Scope says my club distances are. Just one example, in My Strategy it says my average 9i distance is 156 yards! Maybe if I skull one! My actual for the year is a P_AVG of 125 yards and an AVG of 115. Tough to plan strategy with club distances being that far off. I did email Support.
Saw the email in my inbox this morning. First, let me say I have never in my life went to a course with a strategy. Second, this is very cool if it works as intended. I probably won’t be playing any rounds in the next few months but excited to check it out! Shot scope continuing to do awesome things
I’m playing around with it on the dashboard now and it’s a pretty cool feature. I’ll have to try it out the next time I play. This should be very helpful when playing a new course. I really like that you can set it to incorporate your dispersion tendencies and show shots plotted. Very cool!
How am I supposed to get to sleep at night now?!?
Gotta admit this sounds really cool and shotscope does such a great job for those that want to deep dive into their data!
I am really excited to try this out

It’s such a beautiful course you’re going to have a blast and I’m not at all jealous lol. I need to get back down there at some point soon.

This. Have just used google earth in the past.

You’re not wrong. I’ve still got my tags and an H4. I might be putting them back in to test this out.
I took them out because I found myself getting kinda paralyzed by the data. It was effecting thoughts and decisions I made on the course too much. It was fully a ‘me’ and my neurosis type of problem. I’ve always loved what shotscope does and at one point or another owned every product they’ve sold.
I’m getting so tempted with this news.

Really looking forward to how well this can be implemented. If it’s as good as I hope it’ll be tremendous.

Already doing research!!!
I’m trying to play around with this on the app, and I’m probably just missing it but nowhere is it letting me do a strategy session.
I’m sure it’ll be better on a computer, just not an option right now and I kind of want to play with it.
Is anyone using it on their app right now?
Very cool new feature. I’m gonna need to dust off my sensors or more likely order some of the redesigned ones.
